I have that same model of Lady Penelope's Fab 1 which I got from a friend as part of a model trade. It still has its sliding roof and fold down grill, but the ammunition is missing. The only thing I did to this model was paint chrome along the sides to cover up the scratches, and touch up the body with matching nail polish.

Or wet and dry starting at about 240 and going up to about 3000.
If it's not to badly scratched you can use auto sol metal polish ,
Finish of with clear floor polish .

Hi Martin a great finish on this one it all seemed to come together, nice paint and a good canopy. Good old Parker giving up a piece of his ass just to please Penelope.(Does'nt she have a brother called Ant?) All the best from Ian & family.

I have just acquired a model to be renovated and your video has helped tremendously.
There have been many varieties of pink over the years. Back in 1965/66 when there were press releases in magazine articles or fanzines of the actual TV models, the shade always seemed to be more toward the coral side of the pink colour spectrum, very much darker than I thought. The product you used has given me a leg up on what to look out for when I come to buy the paint. Did you prime the body shell first? and did you use a Dremel attachment to buff the wheels?
Dinky put a lot of "artistic licence" into this model. So one doesn't need to be too fussy. However I am not keen on the gold seats or the red steering wheel. I am going for the black upholstery and the white wheel.
Great video thanks you I hope mine turns out as good as yours.

Thanks very much, Brian. glad it helps ,there was a lot of variation in the shade of pink ,not forgetting these were mass produced as toys, not collectors items back then .
I agree the interior was a poor choice of colour, I did use a white primer on this one, plus I used metal polish on the wheels and buffed up with cotton buds or felt polish wheel.
      All the best Martin 👍

Using caustic soda with no rubber gloves on is not a good idea

Thats cool ,but I buy cheaper to restore for my collection only and not for resale .and the enjoyment of bringing something back .
But I appreciate your comment my friend, it would be a dull world if we all thought and did the same thinks .
      All the best martin 👍
