Savotta Jaakari Backpacks Medium vs. Large

- Made of 1000D Cordura nylon, these great packs from Lamnia are a fantastic choice for the bushcrafter, backpacker or for survival training. Each has MOLLE/PALS webbing and feature heavy duty 8 mm zippers and Delrin special plastic buckles. The medium holds up to 30 liters and the large up to 60 liters!
PLEASE NOTE: These packs were stuffed full of blankets etc. for demonstration purposes only. I would never go out on a trip with them so loosely packed or adjusted.

If you haven't checked out these great packs, then you are missing something! While they are a bit pricey, it is worth every bit of the money I spent on the one I purchased. When you are out in the wilderness, you cannot afford to have your backpack fail. I have seen cheap backpacks fail and I believe in paying for quality to avoid this issue. Lamnia is a great company and I think that you would get many years of use out of either one of these backpacks. Thanks for watching and please leave your comments below!
Hey mr Waypoint, I'm 6'3" and I often find that smaller packs don't really work well with waist bands. It seems as if they're kind of short and that the waist band doesn't reach down to the right spot on the hip bone. Is the M like this or can I really load its waist band?
I'm looking for a small pack to haul around heavy stuff (tools, more tools, food, water, no fluffy sleeping gear), but I really want to keep the weight on my hips rather than on my shoulders. Are my concerns valid or do you think the M would fit? The overall size of the L is kind of too big for me.
To be truthful, I'm not sure it would fit you or not. I have a long torso and it adjusts well for me. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I just saw your comment today.
Excellent. I have been thinking about obtaining one of smalls as well. They are simply one of the best line of backpacks out there.
@Heavy Shoe Thank you. You can also buy backpack strap pads which attach using Velcro from Maxpedition which work really well with the narrow Savotta straps. I use them on my medium and have carried loads in excess of 50 lbs or 22 k comfortably.
@Heavy Shoe Excellent idea!
I absolutely love reviews by people who actually use them in the field. Thank you for sharing, liked and subscribed.
Thank you! Much appreciated.
Truly an excellent review/comparison sir. Thanks for investing the time to do this ~ it has answered all the questions I had on these packs!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting!
There is a lot of great quality outdoor equipment coming from Scandinavia.
Knives, axes, bags, fire steels, cookware, clothes and more. You always get what you pay for here. And often more.
You are so right. Great countries and great equipment from folks who understand the outdoors.
Thank you for the comparisons!!! Been eyeing on buying one of these Savotta backpacks.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the comparison! After 2 years of searching I decided on the smaller Jakarri over the Karrimor Predator and hadnt pulled the trigger yet but now I'm gonna have to compare the large size too. Great overview and thanks for the vid!!
You're welcome, and glad to be of some service to you.
Those are awesome packs, I wish I had one! I would happy with either one. I’ve looked into them before, maybe one day. Excellent review brother, probably one of the best packs out there.
Thank you, my friend!
I got the medium I been using for 3 years and prefer it over my fjallraven kajka
Thanks for doing a great review on these backpacks. Have a great day.
Thank you!
Another awesome feature of the hip belt is it detaches into a battle belt! Great for a day trip from camp, fishing, quick scouting hike...👍🏻 also the price is more than fair imo because if you buy one it’s probably going to be a forever bag it will last!
Absolutely! They are phenomenal backpacks and as you stated very durable. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
@@WayPointSurvival no problem. I’m going to get the large for myself for Christmas haha 👌🏻 keep making cool videos
Will do!
I do have the Jääkäri L, I like how it is convertible nearly from Jääkäri S (which I also have) to full capacity which is not so said, because of the molle webbing... And because the lid and the waist belt are removable, it shrinks. Savotta has made the waist belt so that it can be used at its own, just add pouches to the molle.
Great channel, love those hobo-videos! Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
Pretty nice packs. I think that would definitely be good for winter. Thanks for sharing.
The large one would be a great size for winter for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@WayPointSurvival So what I would really like to see is how you load these out with a tent and sleeping bag. I'm just trying to make up my mind here - I need a super rugged pack like this (I have three). I'm a bit torn though because these do lack some of the modern features that I'd see with a Mystery Ranch, in particular re. access. Any feedback would be helpful, I guess a pic would be ideal:) BTW: I was also looking at the Tasmanian Tiger packs I saw on the Lamnia site. Thoughts?
I've done research for a larger pack and after hitting the link below just realized THIS is the one I had decided on! I'll have to rewatch the video😀 The price given at your link is about 100 American dollars CHEAPER than what I came up with. Another good video!
Thank you! Lamnia is an excellent company to work with!
Great review. I love both. The medium for 2 - 3 days and the large for trips of longer duration. I love the over all quality and fit for me. Safe journeys.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
The Medium is enough for bushcrafting With 1 or 2 Nights as well? With sleepingback bag, Jackets and Food etc dont know Maybe a bit small ? Unsure Which to buy
The medium is great for 1 or 2 nights of Bush crafting.
Hello James, thanks for the great review. I actually prefer the 30 liter pack. Be safe out there and all his the best to you.
Yes, I do too! I still think it is the perfect size for bushcrafting and general survival training! Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend!
I’m glad to have run across this video. I was looking at these a month or so ago, but I can’t figure out if the sizes they give are with the roll top extended to max, or if the listed sizes are without the expansion. That roll top makes a big difference to the potential of the pack, and would affect my choice for sure.
Excellent. Glad I could help and thank you for watching the video!
That's an awesome looking pack brother. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Chief! I appreciate it!
I really appreciate that knife you have. I've had one of those for a long time. :D Also great review.
Thank you! It's a really great knife!
Thanks for the maxpedition shoulder pad advice
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Savotta jääkäri large is an excellent pack that can take a serious beating. Also worth a mention are Warrior assault systems, Crib Gogh, Blackhawk, Wisport, Karrimor SF.
Those are all great pack systems from what I understand. The only one that I have any association with is Blackhawk. I haven't used any of the other packs, just know them by reputation and by people that I trust who use them.
@@WayPointSurvival Out of all the brands I mentioned Crib Gogh are something else the extras you get like plastic inserts in the shoulder straps to spread the weight, lockable zips really innovative packs and seriously worth getting one if you can.
The Blackhawk packs I have and use are the older packs such as the Raptor x3, Cyclone, 3 day assault pack, predator, and the Titan I think Blackhawk got everything right with these packs.
I'm buying a Large in September and truly appreciate your clear cut review thereof! I agree about the lack of side pockets as I intend to carry my 21" Sven saw under a 6ltr Savotta pouch (on either side) on one side and a Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel behind the pouch on the opposite side. The shovel will hold itself aloft by nature of it's shape but now I have to figure out a way to keep the saw from sliding down and out from behind the other pouch. I had originally purchased a Snugpak Endurance 40 which is virtually a civilian version of these packs but A-a little too flimsy compared to these beasts and B- a trifle small for my newby habit of over packing. My only other suggestion to Savotta would be to put webbing "wranglers" on any and every one of the many straps this Large bag comes festooned with! I was previously thinking of getting an ILBE to replace my Snugpak with but this pack is simply too close to perfect unlike the ILBE(which is "close" but not nearly as close to perfect as this unit! Thanks again for the fantastic review!
You are very welcome and I'm glad that you enjoyed the review and found it helpful!
Hi James! Great review. I happen to like the medium but would gladly use the large. Ver nice 👍
Yes. I also prefer the medium, but they are both great packs!
Thanks, for the great review!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment!
Good review. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the breakdown.
Thanks for watching!
Hi, really quick I just want to say love the vids. Great content and really keeps me informed. My question is have you done a review on the savotta xl pack yet?
Not yet, but if I ever get one, that would be a great video to do for sure. Thanks for watching and for your question!
Like this Video been looking for a good back pack I'm going on the AT this year and thank you
They are great packs and really hold up well. Glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful!
Great job!! Well rounded and very informative... Thank's.. I still CAN'T make up my MIND🤣🤙
Thank you, just get both, lol.
@@WayPointSurvival haha I have soooo many packs I've been leaning towards the Large, but not quite positive..
Nice review my friend, thanks for sharing. The knife is great
Thank you! I had some problems with it sliding around but I eventually got it figured out and posted a video on how I fixed the problem.
If you get the Savotta L side pouches, you can mount the axe between the two molle rows.
They left the width of two molle rows for that exact purpose.
I will carry my Fiskars X7 axe like that and my large knife (Terävä Skrama 240) on the other side, if the sheath fits.
Otherwise I'll just wear my JP Peltonen Sissipuukko M95 instead back there.
I've ordered the Jääkäri M and two L pouches and should be getting them early next week.
Excellent, thanks for watching!
Nice comparison. I took notice of the way u choose to carry your knife. It does seem slide around a bit but still quicker access than on a belt, yet safer than around the neck. I’d experiment adding a horizontal cross strap to stop the slide or maybe even a double cross strap. 😁👍👍
Thank you for watching the video! I did actually find a solution to it and I posted it on a later video.
Great comparison, thanks
Thank you for watching, glad it was helpful!
@@WayPointSurvival it was forsure, although I think I might have to save up for both because of each of their different features
Nice to see the JP Peltonen sissipuukko as well. Looks like the current model M95? I have the first generation from 1996 which was based on the RK62 assault rifle’s bayonet. The later ones are of course much better with actual knife handles
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. It is a great knife!
Nice packs! Ooiy, decisions decisions.. Lol.. I like them both. I've been searching for a new pack to replace my ALICE pack. As you stated, they are a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. I'll have to wait though, due to relocating from WI back home to NE Ohio within the next few weeks & have so many places to take my girlfriend to. Thanks for sharing, be safe James!
Thank you, glad you found the review to be helpful. Also, welcome back to Ohio!
Thanks! Can't wait to get home!
Good Comparisons. . Good Pros and cons for Both, I really like that space at the bottom or make it a Full compartment / drawstring Idea on the Bigger pack.
Thank you!
The one drawback to the LG pack, is that you have to use the external bags, to carry extra... I put my Trangia 27, and the burner into one of the bags, along with food... in the other, I add a USGI mess kit... but, I'm going to throw my GSI cooking tools, along with a couple bags of food... I just added a hydration bag to go into the bag. The bottom pocket is for USMC 3S bag & compression sack. I use a DD Hammocks MC pyramid tent... and, I have my poncho liner inside my sleeping bag, just in case! It's durable, just not as large as an ALICE pack...
Sounds like a great setup! Thank you for watching!
Good review. I’ve liked the look of Savotta packs but have always been put off at the price. It’s interesting that I haven’t found any on the used market.
I’m still making do with military surplus packs and an old external frame pack that I like pretty well. I add molle pouches to them as needed as well as the few modifications I’ve made to them.
Thank you. I think people like them so well and they are so durable that there are probably very few on the used market. Also, thank you for watching and commenting!
@@WayPointSurvival Thank you for putting up some of the best instructional information I’ve seen on CZcams. This is one of only a few product reviews I’ve seen you do and you did very well. I did go to the Savotta website again just to see if the prices had come down. As an aside, Do you put any DWR on your other packs? I’ve found it keeps the weight down when I’m in the rain all day as well as keeping my old Alice (one of two external frame packs I own) from letting some gear getting damp.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I have used a silicone spray on some of my outdoor gear, I've also used a homemade wax treatment that works pretty well.
Thanks for a great video! The pads you added to the M shoulder straps, are these widely available? I've been looking around and cant seem to find any for some reason... Might just be me though..:) Also did you look for or find anything that works to pad the waist belt?
The shoulder pads are made by Max pedition and they come in a couple different widths. As far as the hip belt I haven't found anything to replace that with as I'm fairly satisfied with the one that comes with.
@@WayPointSurvival Thank you for sharing! :-)
So nice to meet you today at Glendale Az camp. 😁
Thank you, it was really nice to meet you too! God bless!
The ilbe pack is the best large pack I’ve ever used.
It's a good pack for sure. Thank you for watching!
I have the Karrimor SF 60-100 with the side compartments for a total of 160L and I can’t say 1 bad thing about it!
Excellent!
Got to carry a heavy duty winter sleeping bag
In sumer its just a great mattress winter you sleep in it.
Bulky but important to any large pack.
If in a true survival situation
Otherwise do as you do.
The more pockets the better if well made but webbing stitched on well, to, put on more pockets.
important..
Thanks for responding to my previous post, but you didn’t actually answer my question. I wanted to know if the advertised sizes, or volume of the packs, was with the roll top fully extended, or without the extended top. I guess I’ll try writing one of the companies, because it doesn’t specify on the websites.
I don't really have the answer for you. I think in some of their literature it does specify two ranges for each pack which is probably the numbers you're looking for.
Thanks for the video. Could you tell me the pouches you are using on the Medium bag please
They are mostly all Maxpedition pouches. They are the bottle pouch, canteen pouch, battery pack carrier, the roly poly dump pouch. I also have a small Tactical Tailor pouch that I think is a radio pouch and then two small grenade pouches that I use for miscellaneous items including my compass.. Thank you so much for watching and for your question!
Thanks for effort man but this video just made me more confused which one to choose 😂✌🏼
Sorry about that! I prefer the medium as it forces me to pack wisely. I also have the options of adding various pouches to the outside for more gear space. I also don't really prefer the roll top of the large as well as the fact that it doesn't come with side pockets which are useful not only for a water bottle but for a small hatchet head with handle upwards or for a saw or a shovel handle to set into.
These are 1:1 copies of the bundeswehr rucksack, they just have camo other than flecktarn.I Have identical, Thanks for video, I didn't know how to utilize some of the features and I couldn't find a proper one since soldiers dont take their rq with them home after service, and they dont make videos like this, and I fve foundd it, but under a brand and in different colour.
Mine is already organised almost exactly like yours, but I had to figure it out myself and its a shame because I could have some time without fiddling with all the lines, straps and pouches.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Nice Review thanks. Unfortunately I don't like the way you access the storage, after checking these and many other. I ended getting a World famous TB-880. Been using it for a couple of years now, and I simply love the form factor and how the compartments are designed. And even at this modest price I was truly impressed by the quality of the sewing, fabrics, zippers etc. waterproof and around the same weight as the large one. It offers 55L of storage and full molle and hydration compatibility. For like 60$, I was afraid to buy it over the web at such a low price. But... It was a very pleasant surprise when I received it.
Thank you for the kind words! I know that these packs aren't for everyone and it's great that you found a backpack that you truly love thanks so much for the info on it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting on the video!
Always looking forward your next video. ✌️
Mine gets delivered today!
Fantastic!
Between RP80 and Jääkäri XL,which one would you say is more comfortable to carry/has better exernal frame design? I like both(from the pictures and description online), but I am really looking for the most comfort for my longer hikes! Thanks
I'd say that they are both probably comfortable for long hikes with heavy weight. I don't have any experience with the RP80, but I am a huge fan of the Savotta line of packs. I do, however, prefer a lid for my backpacks instead of just a roll top, but that's just a personal preference.
Hello. Thank you for your video ! Where you buy the pad for the backpack strap for the medium savotta ? Scuse my english, i'm french ;) Have a good day
I purchased mine from a company called Maxpedition several years ago.
Thks a lot ! @@WayPointSurvival
Thanks for the comparison, but I still can't decide which one to get. Btw did you know that both of these packs are designed for Finnish military use.
Thank you for watching! I knew the medium was but I didn't know that they were both designed for the military, thank you for that bit of info. I do know that which ever one you go with you will be getting a great pack!
Somebody needs to sport this equipment in the field! RAW
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
I also like this backpack but I have too many packs already so I just rig them up accordingly simular to the Savotta.
I know what you mean!
You mentioned Jaakari M that used Maxpedition shoulder pad. Which one? 1,5" or 2"? Unfortunately the original shoulder pad very uncomfortable. I don't understand as for the shoulder pad why so the big the diffrent between the two models. Thank"s a lot!
I use the 2 inch. It works really well. Not sure why the Jaakari M has such thin and narrow pads and the Large has excellent and comfortable ones. However, in all other aspects it is a great pack. Thank you for watching and for your question.
@@WayPointSurvival What I have read is that the thin pads were designed that way to fit comfortably over body armor.
For Search & Rescue we had a 24 hour and a 72 hour pack ready to go - I didn't look forward to the 72 hour pack especially in the High Mountains... Some searches last longer than others, better to have it and not need it - then to need it and not have it.
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
Savotta Jääkäri it is. "Jääkäri" is a finnish word and it means Jaeger and the backpack is based on military backpacks. Buy one and you use it life time.
Could you tell us the type of Maxpedition pads you talk about at around @6 minute mark? Id like to get some of those.
They are just the standard maxpedition pads that they sold. You do need to measure the width of your existing shoulder pads as they have a couple of widths available.
Cool Video 👍
Thank U for the Infos 👍
Own a lot of TASMANIEN TIGER Backpacks they are great but since quite a time I have an eye on the särna TST RP 80 and some others särma and Savotta Backpacks I have no experience with this brand so far except with their awesome Knives and Tools its hard to make a decision ...
TT Pathfinder or särma TST RP 80 ...is my next decision I have to make 🤯
If I could I would buy them all unfortunatelly Im no Millionäre....
Thank you! Yes, there are several great pack manufacturerers out there. I did a lot of research before I settled on Savotta.
Great review! How does the medium fit? I’m 6’3” and concerned the belt will be sitting above my hips.
While the search for the perfect bushcraft pack never ends the Savotta Jaakari M is close.
Good question! It is adjustable to some degree. However, it depends on how long your torso is. From the top of your shoulders to the middle of the waist belt is 19 inches where I have it set.
WayPoint Survival thanks for the measurement. I’ll have to measure up and compare it to my other pack. Cheers!
You're welcome!
Get the large it will fit you much better, also check out packs by Warrior assault systems and Crib Gogh ,excellent build quality and the Crib gogh are something else so comfortable.
I want to get one to use as my hunting backpack. What one of these two do you recommend for that application? I am thinking the large but not sure if that is overkill.
I think the medium is perfect for maneuvering through the woods. However, that's just my opinion but it has plenty of PALS webbing for adding additional pouches if needed.
@@WayPointSurvival ok thank you. Great review
I can't decide which one of these would work for me. I want something I can do some bushcraft/ camping overnighters with but I also want something that I could take on a day hike. This is my first time really getting into this kind of stuff so I'm kind of clueless.
The best thing you could do is go to a hiking store and actually try on several different backpacks to see which size fits you the best. Then you can go online and order from a different company if you would like or purchase one from the store where you tried it on.
@@WayPointSurvivalThanks for the advice, I'm actually going to make my way to cabelas tomorrow to see what kind of packs they have.
Hi,
what kind of Carabines are the ones you have in the Bag (The black Karabine)?
I believe they are just cheap carabiners from walmart.
I would rather have the large for how I want to roll. Mainly to pack bigger things like poncho liners, ponchos, extra outfit.
Only issue is that it would take me a while to save for it.
The large is a good choice! Thank you for watching!
No offense to the L, seems like a cool pack - but less is more, I think :-). Thanks for the review!
Yes. I am a huge fan of the medium. Unless I'm in really cold weather, it is my go-to pack for bushcrafting. The problem with a larger pack is that it is always a temptation to put in just one more thing....
It's 3:00 am, you just got back with me🤔 think you my man.. I ask if you had permission, that's how you got back to me, 6 months ago is short, yes sir, but I lost my Stephany,. Blood clot went to her heart ❤️❤️. She was who introduced me to you're videos, I just wanted to let you know, think you & keep up, the great video's SIR.. you are a true man, that can shed his hat, for a small prayer on each meals.. think you,
GOD BLESS YOU...
So sorry to hear about your loss. Thank you so much for watching the videos and God-bless you too.
How waterproof is the medium Savotta Jaakari Backpac? And does it also have a roll top? Thanks.
It is well coated on the inside so it is fairly water resistant and it does not have a roll top. But it does have a very sufficient lid that goes over the top along with a storm flap.
I’ve backpacked a lot and been on many uh rucks, I don’t get why people cry about weight, better to have it and not need it than to need it and aint got it
Agreed.
I love hauling a large bag around. Gives a man confidence.
Who makes the rubberized parka you briefly showed?
They were made and used by various military manufacture's. The one you are referring to may be the one used by the German military. Just Google German military rubberized poncho.
Medium pack is actually more than 30 liter cause of it's expandable top.
True, I just was quoting the stats from the Lamnia Website. Thanks for watching and for your input!
@@WayPointSurvival yeah default setup is 30litres , with side pouches plus the expandable "hood" its more like 50 litres =D
I know its overkill for you (okay I am assuming it is) but the XL with the exterior frame is probably the ultimate deep woods expedition bag. No, I don't own it yet but it is on my Lust List pretty close to the top!
That would indeed be an awesome pack!
Where did you source and what are the side pouches on the medium pack?
The side pouches are made by Maxpedition. Here is a link: www.maxpedition.com/products/10-x-4-bottle-holder?variant=27894134417 The canteen pouch is no longer available from them but here is a similar pouch: www.amazon.com/FireForce-Military-Canteen-Utility-Ranger/dp/B078JGNX1T/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=canteen+pouch+green&qid=1585615866&sr=8-4
WayPoint Survival thnx!
If you like Finnish products like Savotta Jääkäri backpacks, you might like Terävä Skrama by Varusteleka.
Yes, I believe that is a good item as well.

What’s a good waterproof rain jacket?
I like the military Goretex jacket without the liner from the ECWS line.
Which one would you recommend as a 72 hour bug out bag?
Probably the Large.
@@WayPointSurvival I went with the Med, but I got some extra pouches! Let me get my gear organized better. And I still have room to spare! Thank you for the insightful video
DHL shipping is worth it! Posti works, but I'm willing to pay the extra for DHL...
Excellent! It's always worth it to get good shipping!
Did I miss where the large has an internal frame?
No, I didn't mention it. Sorry. The large has an internal aluminum frame. The medium is more of a rucksack with a stiff plastic sheet for a semi-rigid back panel.
Are the Maxpedition Pads 2" wide?
Yes.
Nice review, but where is the Large Backpack?
Lol! That was the large. They do have an XL, maybe that's what you're thinking about.
I bought maxpedition pads and it doesn't work. Anyone know which pads work for these. The staps are 3 inches long and the maxpedition ones are 2 inches :(
I can't help you there. The ones I bought from Maxpedition work quite well.
What's the deal with the knife strapped across your chest Jungle Jim?
I was testing various carry options as it was given to me by the same company that sent me the backpack. I solved the problem of how to carry it in another video on my channel. Thank you for asking.
Hi Way Point Survival, I saw your YT channel on a mutual subscribe in Bushcraft survival and primitive skills I’ve just subbed to you now. Great review video, I might have to buy a new backpack now. haha. Where in the world are you based? Have a great weekend and stay safe. James
Thanks for the sub! You have some interesting content on your channel that I want to check out so thanks for making me aware of it. I am based out of Southern Ohio. It really is a great backpack.

I got mine from Finland as well but from verusteleka.com, great pack for the money, got it two days early, is that a jaakaripukko knife ,how are you wearing yours like that, that's a good way for easy access.
Great! The knife is a Peltonen Ranger Knife. Thanks for asking!
Did you get the pouches from the same company?
No. Most of the pouches are Maxpedition. Thank you for watching!
@@WayPointSurvival Thanks for the quick reply. Have a great day.
I would advice not to put 2kg hanging on the side of the pack that loosely as you have on the larger bottle pack. You ought to strap it in firmly to minimize torque, possibly with an extra strap, or get a wider pouch.
Very true. Of course the pack was just set up for the review and to demonstrate the webbing etc. If I were hiking with the pack I would definitely not want things wobbling about. Good observation and thank you for watching and commenting!
@@WayPointSurvival Yea I had this same problem before. Good video though.
I can’t find them anywhere
Savotta still makes them.
Can you do a book of Eli movie style survival pack please iPod everything Bible too just because it's awesome 😎 thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
Only thing I don't like about that is the coating on the inside at one point in its life it'll start to deteriorate get sticky or it dries out and just starts to flake off its complete nightmare I bought a pack that had that and put it in storage thinking that I would have something to last and no I didn't I think it made it a year and a half in a storage building when I got it out it stunk to high heaven smell like a toilet I put baby powder on it to relieve the stickiness but it's something you have to keep doing even the tent that I bought did the same thing the inside of the tent the waterproofing turned sticky I just wish I would have known that before the purchase I wouldn't have purchased either one of those products
So far I've had mine for quite a few years and no problems with the lining. That must be on cheaper backpacks.
Whats with the knife? 🤔
I had just received it in the mail from the same company that sent me the backpack and I was experimenting with different ways to carry it. The cross draw carry kept sliding around on me and so I had to come up with a better way to use it. I filmed the video of the modification, it's on my channel as well. Thank you for watching and for your question!
If only all commercials were made by the consumer gave the pro and cons
Thanks!
How much ?
The large is about 300 US and the medium is about 200 US. Thanks for asking!

little correction on name. Savotta Jääkäri
Thank you. I've actually never heard it pronounced.
@@WayPointSurvival Your pronounciation is actually very good on video! Great videos, keep on going!

Excellent!
@6:40 - I think this bag (in Large size) is the best "bugout" bag on the market, but to suggest that you don't like all the "extra" compartments seems..... disingenuous.
it's TRUE! this bag (stock) doesn't have "enough" separated storage compartments. that's okay!!!!! any extra (separate) storage compartments can be added with molle side storage.
i think the DURABILITY of this bag is understated! the absolute BEST, zippered bag can't hold a candle to this bag.
If a zipper on a "quality" bag breaks......... what are you left with?!?!?! answer........ nothing. This IS IS IS the best bag for "survival" situations. #ChangeMyMind LOL
I literally don't like a bunch of extra compartments. This one doesn't have it and I like that very much as I can add whatever I want to the outside using the PALS webbing. And, as you said, the durability of this bag is amazing.
Can this pack hold up to 70lbs comfortably? I’m looking to buy it for hunting? Any help would be appropriated
Yes, it would handle that weight.
Thank you! I was hoping I could haul meat out with it. Wasn’t sure if it was that ridged.
@@JeremiahWilliams-xc2fi It has internal stays. If you're going to be hauling meat, you may want to get an external frame pack.
Thank you! I was thinking this pack or a Mystery Ranch, they are more expensive though. I appreciate your input.
@@JeremiahWilliams-xc2fi You're welcome.
what is the ref of the small pouch on top of the jaakari M lid please?
It is a small maxpedition pouch that is made for holding batteries. But it is also the perfect size for storing my headlamp.
@@WayPointSurvival thank you! and the ref of the shoulder pad? is that the SDP? thank you
@@digitalpanic2323 The shoulder pads additions are also Maxpedition.
Out of interest the lamnia website is an unsafe one so blocked for me at work
Nice demo James
That's interesting. Maybe because they sell knives and other such gear?
@@WayPointSurvival Could be. Usually work just blocks knives and guns but this time I got a warning that passwords and such saved to the site are unsafe. Someone hates them!
I have visited the site many times and never had any problems at all. They are a large gear supplier and I can't imagine that they wouldn't have excellent web security etc.
@@WayPointSurvival Like I said. Someone does not like them. I'll try at home tomorrow and report back
My brain says large but my back says medium
The pack that I used in the video is a medium.
@@WayPointSurvival thx
Jääkäri S,M,L. rucksack best have daily trip S and normal M only many week trip need L model- its too large.
Thank you for watching!
Clearly needs a less distracting location for the knife. Looks macho all right but not very practical :D
Actually, I solved this problem in a later video. It's a great place to carry it but you have to secure it from sliding around. I was testing it in this video as I just recently switched to the side carry.
