If you’re only going to buy them just to sell them on Depop , just leave it at the store :/ especially since you price everything so fucking high on ur Depop when thrift stores are very cheap . There’s people who genuinely need that stuff , so if you’re only buying it to sell it on Depop , just leave it

Why do you always take the hangers off? i work in a store and it’s like sooo annoying, because you have to start looking for those hangers throughout the whole store, once the customers who left the hangers left the store lol
She said that quit a few times... She asked at her local stores and the employees said that‘s easier for them if she just leave the hangers.
at my thrift store I take all the hangers off and put them on the return rack
I take the clothes off the hangars and hang them on the side of the cart and give them to the cashier to put it on the rack meant for hangars so it’s easier for them
ya thats what i was thinking it was annoying me really bad, i was like "Girl you are making it so hard for everyone"
because the workers have to pick it up and some people could think that there was something on the hanger!!
@@c10249 when i find loose hangers in the store where i work at. It’s mostly from items which have been stolen 💀

i could be wrong, but the way she acted in this video just made me think she had no respect for any of the people around her or the staff. just my first impression, i could be wrong

your depop is so expensive :(
Ikr right I saw some clothes in this video where she bought it for 12-20 dollars max then resell it for 34 or even 74 dollars on depop wth.
Yeah, depop sellers are getting worse everyday.
I used to really like her & depop both but I don’t think it’s cool to take affordable clothes and simply make them unaffordable unless you’re adding something to it.
Unless you can find that particular item elsewhere, her prices are fine lol
@@gigicutie1453 her depop is literally so expensive people like her are greedy because they can afford to buy whatever they want from any store but they choose to go to thrift stores and resell $5 shirts for $50 it’s rude and greedy
@@Raven-wh2pl i mean - i bought a 100% silk, designer top at a thrift store for like 7 dollars. if i sell it, you bet im selling it for way more than 7 dollars. thats only fair.

I really don't like when people resell clothes from thrift stores. Thrift stores exist for people that need cheap clothes. People bulk buying and reselling those clothes for triple their original price seem to not appreciate each item. It just appears as if you're ungrateful and really privileged.
You don't have a clue about how the poor live! I am one and I admire Melissa Tatti so much for what she's achieved! She is not privledged and has worked hard along with her family to build a business. There's plenty to go around... Sheesh
Thrift stores exist for people to get rid of clothes they don't want without throwing them away. Most thrift stores aren't even cheap, not a little bit.
@@Ambiefreeman obviously some thrift stores are expensive but not all, there are plenty of thrift stores around the world that are affordable. Apart from that, a second hand store being expensive doesn't automatically make reselling clothes for twice the price ethical.
@@vero2522 Alot of the clothes she gets are designer so pricing them high isn't a big deal, if you can't afford it then ok thats not her problem, it's not like there aren't thousands of other stores you can shop from. Also just cause some thrift stores price things at a seemingly low price doesn't mean that's how much they're worth, like I said, she gets alot of designer and that designer is worth way more than she prices it for.
Her: oh my god this is so cute
Me: 🤭🤭
Like the Jean skirt with plaid at the bottom was so ugly
WHY DO YOU JUST LEAVE THE HANGERS ON THE RACK!?!?!
It speeds up checking out. I like that it helps to know how picked over the rack is. Also they have to go to the backroom anyway, most racks are closer than the check out counter.
I’ve been told by Value Village staff to leave the hangers on the rack.
I felt the same way. Honestly from my time working at a large clothing store having to sift through empty hangers on the racks to make space is annoying. You might as well take them off at checkout.
But I think she may do it because she gets alot and it takes room in her cart.
Some stores say they prefer it. I’ve been to a couple that have signs explicitly telling customers to please leave the hangers on the rack. I think it just depends on the store honestly

Girl address some of the constructive criticism in the comments.
she has... like so many times. Most of it is ppl who are uneducated abt reselling anyway
Although I do think that reselling is a bit unfair, I understand how it works, and it’s not exactly I was referring to. People in the comments are talking about how she was putting her hand over her mouth, AT A THRIFT STORE, during a pandemic and constantly taking clothes off the hangers and leaving them... Those are simply irresponsible things that she needs to address.
Fran's editing has me dying. So funny. She's getting so good!!!

Love these types of videos!!!!
Hey Ms Melissa good to see you again
Old vid but commenting because I see so much hate on this one specifically. As someone who grew up shopping at thrift stores due to financial reasons, what she is doing is NOT unethical! Large thrift stores recieve an enormous amount of clothing and most never get hung on the racks due to volume. As a sustainable buyer, I enjoy seeing people buy large quantities as I know this frees up room on the floor for more items to come out. Furthermore, thrift stores aren’t meant for “poor people to buy nice clothes”. They are most definitely an opportunity to do so, but at the same time I don’t think anyone should go into a thrift expecting expensive brands. The nature of thrifting literally cannot have you having expectations. I go in expecting cheap used clothes, which there is a plethora of for those in need, nothing more nothing less.
Thrifting is and always has been a grind, for EVERYONE. It is a first come first serve world and to be “lucky” you need to put in the time. Even in elementary/middle school I never found “good” things until I knew the best days and times to come in. It also takes easily a couple hours at minimum to comb through all the racks to find hidden gems and make your time worth it.
Also, speaking about Melissa specifically, most of what she buys matches her own, very curated style. I see so many comments saying “I would never buy that ____ she bought” and she buys it, styles it right, and consequently makes a profit. You really can’t be mad at this as in this case, what she added to the item ultimately made the item profitable. And imo she does this a lot.
Agree with all you said! These folks attacking don't have a clue how the world works for those of us who are financially challenged lol poor people!
Except for the part about not expecting big brands! I always do and usually find them! I found a Prada purse and nwt coach with the plastic still on the the buckles and hardware! Just so happens they slipped by whomever was supposed to put it aside for boutique pricing so got both for the reg price of 5.99. The Coach they would have under the glass and priced at $49.99. How many single moms can afford that? Zero!
Personally me it's selfish to just take something cheap and resell it for much higher.
Does anyone knows how many times she said “Really”
Or “chunky”
That was a funny intro 😂
Omg!! I need to visit America just for the Thrift stores!! Ireland is so different! Some amazing finds in this vid!! Xx

It feels a bit weird that you spend THAT much money on thrifted stuff only to resell for like triple the price when the thrift stores were meant for less fortunate people. Like I get going and spending a bit of money but over $1000 on clothes you’re just reselling feels icky
Lots are for her, she reworks clothes, and reselling makes buying second hand more accessible to many more people worldwide that don’t have access to thrift stores or don’t have the time/patience to go themselves. Not like she’s buying the whole store. Thrift stores end up throwing away tons of clothes every year because they don’t sell. Less fortunate people are still able to buy LOTS from thrift stores.
it feels icky because it is icky lol
@@JR-md8wv yes, obviously. Trying to bring this conversation up in a gentle aay
Way*
@@RileyJean I think the opposite actually. I think the people that come in and buy thousands of dollars every week are raising the price making it less accessible to less fortunate people. But that’s just my take because I’m from the same city in Ontario and I physically see the prices rising in these exact stores constantly x
