Its really smart (swiss) engineering: only the axis-lock and the servo motor for the 360 degree spinning is electric. everything else is man powered and just physics. Otherwise you would need a fairly powerful motor to create the trampoline effect, for example, and you would have one more source of error, which could also be very dangerous in the event of a malfunction.

The idea of the small circular stage is fantastic. It suits the song so well and yet it's a simple idea with great visual effect. I loved seeing how it works. Thanks for uploading the video.

The vocals, the instrumentals, the lyrics… but also props to the stage designers, the lights designers, the camera crew, and those hooded figures running around moving the platform. The result is flawless, nothing too complicate yet visually stunning. it’s one thing to see it as they intended it, and another to see the behind the scenes. it makes it even more amazing. i can’t stop listening to this song, and watching the performance.

Looking at this performance in this way (rather than the broadcast) I feel like the appeal of it was that they addressed the entire arena through the choices made in the performance. They could have just sung the song in the standard way where they’re always facing straight down the middle of the arena, but because of the spinning disc they literally faced every single person in the arena. Completely brilliant performance.

If you've been to gymnastics class you can absolutely do that. You need back muscles for that I think, and a good balance obviously. But for a short time I can probably reach about what Nemo did. I wouldn't try to wiggle and sing all on a moving platform tho xD

I thought the disk rotated automatically, but the fact that two people were actually moving it made the performance even more legendary
