I’m sooo confused. I thought people hated Jey Uso because he only has 5 moves 🤷 Now they are upset because he lost to the longest reigning intercontinental champion. Fickle
Truth be told, there are all kinds of people all over Twitter. Multiple opinions run wild over there. It's not everyone hating one idea, it's multiple people getting different opinions out, and one just got more popular that day.
What’s wrong is that due to how social media is set up, you will never get a 100% accurate assessment of how something is reacted to because usually what you think is a majority opinion, is actually just a minority opinion but VERY loud and vocal I personally think Jey is good in the ring, if he’s set up against the right guy, and Gunther was a right guy! But Gunther needed that win more than Jey
Honestly, Jey losing will likely piss less people off compared to Gunther losing. Over or not, he was never beating Gunther without interference, and Gunther’s promo is exactly why.
I think you should realize that they are building a Jey beating Gunther for a big big title win moment, maybe the world title. Its not a mistake that Gunther keeps beating Jey in vital moments. Its build up to when Jey finally figures him out. So Jey is beating Gunther its just a matter of time

Losing to the guy literally pushed as the best Intercontinental Champion of all time who's an imposing in-ring monster is nowhere near a burial. If Jey and LA Knight weren't going to win the tournament, having them lose to heels being pushed in the bracket portion was the way to do it.

My hot take on Jay uso is this. The main event gimmick, is nothing more than a gag. He might be in Main event, but it doesn't win them. He is better as a Tag wrestler, and same for his brother Jimmy
I wanted Gunther vs Ilja for the final, but even I think Jey not winning is a terrible idea. They could've had Jey vs Tama. It's like in AEW when the Acclaimed didn't win the tag titles. Jey is the most over wrestler on WWE roster.
I think they stopped doing the 3 drops because of the knowledge we have about cte/brain damage now. The arm drop gimmick took like 10-15 seconds typically, if that guys out, that time difference could make it a murder lol
I think the reason Jey didn't win is that he is rumored to be put back into the Bloodline story very soon. So if he won the king of the ring, that achievement would be less important because the bloodline is going to take center stage. With Gunther, he can fully focus on the king gimmick after he wins King of the Ring since he doesn't have a major storyline that would push it to the side, instead the gimmick would be the story.
I think part of it too could be Gunther and Orton are considered “bigger names” for the Saudi show, cause Jey vs Tama for KOTR could of kicked off Jey rejoining the bloodline story

When someone’s in a submission and they do the 3 hand thing, they do it when the person comes to and prevents it cause they’ll drop it twice and then the third time is when they recover. They do it the one time when they know that’s the finish. I may be wrong but I’m almost positive that’s it 😂
I trust there was supposed to be something coming to Jey cause I have to say otherwise they are wasting the momentum Jey has in a big way. They don’t need to make it predictable and pops get you wins every time but somethings working and he gets to win 2-3 matches up till the big time event that matters then lose. Hard to be ‘main event’ when you can’t get to the main event cause of weird pushes. I did have Gunther pegged to win this but it didn’t suck any less on the other side of it.

These days I'd raise that number a fair bit but I still fully believe that HHH is a poor booker. Why do I say that? The reason is simple...can you watch an episode of Raw/SD without distractions from your phone and still have a good time? The answer to me is NO. Too much of the show is boring. Even the PLE's under HHH is a no. When NWA Powerrrr was on youtube a few years ago I could watch a greater percentage of those shows without a distraction than WWE. Lucha Underground was my favorite ever wrestling presentation simply because it was the show I could enjoy most without distraction from start to finish. WWE shines in being a great show to talk about after the fact because people are into it and default to that as their wrestling content of choice. Its way more interesting to follow WWE through podcasts and friends than it is on tv/streaming. This was true under the last 5 years of Vince and its still true under the last year of HHH.
Gunther winning KOTR makes sense to me. But Gunther should get a world title shot as well. I would have LA Knight win MITB. And I would have Tiffany win the Women’s MITB.
