I'm really interested in seeing you guys cross the North Atlantic Ocean. The orcas are also exciting, and the pirate aspect adds another level of intrigue. I just want to see how challenging it really is, as I may do it myself in the future with my husband. Good luck, exciting times ahead, mate!

Boat looks great - but why go through the Med if you're worried (you could go round South Africa, or the other way...) Carston seems great - I think Joel's solo sailing days may be behind him :-)!

Just wondering if the Captain had considered going across the Pacific to Dubai, good downwind sailing ...avoiding war zone, longer but in civilization and more reliable. Cant find a single pleasure vessel on AIS in Suez Canal but then they probably dont broadcast AIS in a war zone! Well, I sure wouldnt either😅

i know this sounds silly, but i recently read an article from over seas that claimed if orcas are attacking your boat if you urinate off the area they are attacking they will leave you alone. not sure if its true, but they actually had an article about it on the subject, they also said fog horns and loud noises help as does throwing sand overboard. not sure why someone had sand on the boat to try that method, but who am i to judge, im no marine expert 🤪 when i lived in the north i did carry sand in my vehicle in case i got stuck in the snow. maybe get a couple bags of sand to keep on board to try it out, and eat lots of asparagus so you can try the urine method too lol.

Sounds like a great adventure! Tons of ships go through those areas daily. Is there risk? Yeah but the odds are on your side that will be just fine. The orcas on the other hand lately seem to be more of a problem. I think it's going to be a fun adventurous trip and great learning experience. Cassy will bring a upbeat fun persona to the mix and help keep a upbeat mood. Don't let any of the keyboard Debbie Downers rain on your parade about the risks. There's a risk everyday you wake up that might be the last and any sailing trip across a ocean is a risk of many things. You guys are doing your best to minimize those risks and that's all you can do and then it's time to get positive and enjoy the trip and make memories.
