    Can you also review Heptabase? I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts on it. Thanks.

    Great video, thanks for this comprehensive overview. I'm currently playing with the app and trying to figure out something basic.. there no way to format text in a traditional way ? (with headers, sub-headers. etc..)

    • @Slipbox
      @Slipbox  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for the comment! There currently is no way of formatting text in Tana. I mentioned that its not the greatest tool for longer form writing. That said I am confident they will add some sort of formatting further down the line. They have a very active development team as they are shipping features at a crazy pace.

    does it have folders?

    • @Slipbox
      @Slipbox  Před rokem +2

      Hey! There are no folders in Tana. Its really not necessary with the hierarchy created with the node system. When you create a new node (or bullet) in the daily note for example, you could think of it as creating a new folder. Then create a new bullet under the new node, that would be your first file within the folder. Keep adding nodes under the original and you have a folder with multiple files under them. You could also separate the "folder" nodes with emoji's if you like ✅ and then add them to the side/nav bar (cmd + K - move to -> [workspace] -> home)

    Do you think Tana is better than Obsidian ?

    • @Slipbox
      @Slipbox  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for the question! I have been using both tools in parallel for a month now but I still require more intensive use. There are a few important points that need to be included in a comparison:
      -> What is the main use of the tool: PKM, task management, writing, second brain...etc?
      -> Take into account that Obsidian is a well developed tool, Tana is in Alpha
      Would love to make a comparison, but that would have to be closer to a release version of Tana.
      Great question, thanks!

      @@Slipbox thank your for your answer. I personnaly use obsidian every day and I love it

      @@countryman6083 I don't think you can even compare some 'tool' to Obsidian until is is free to use (for basic functioning) and your data stays with you. When both these marks are checked, you can put something against Obsidian, without it, there's not even a beginning for a comparison. And even after that, after you have checked both the boxes, Obsidian still wins.

      for me, yes, altough its pretty new tana works way more into the way my brain works, as obsidian quickly becomes a mess. I'll still use both, but tana will be my main one
