Thank you for sharing your story. Growing up in an Asian Family, the feeling of self worth and confidence wasn’t something that was encouraged. Now that I have kids of my own, I find the generational trauma coming out of me and onto my kids. Fortunately I will see when it happens and I talk to my kids about it but I need to do better. Your story motivates me to do more to help myself and my kids so that I can break the generational trauma. Thank you for this video.

This was oh so inspiring! A woman who grows up and realizes her insecurities were projected upon them by her parents and that says that without judgements or criticism but just by observing smartly and then choosing to work toward building a fulfilling life and career for herself and especially for her children shows so much emotional maturity, emotional intelligence and responsibility and love towards her children that I cannot but admire you deeply, Linda!

I cried so much watching this video. I have followed you long time, but this was the most honest, authentic one ever. I have similar childhood experience. And being obsessed with being good enough at school/work to prove my value ... was me. I was so stressed out after pushing myself at work, without meeting my own way too high expectation. And then this video poped and i cried so much out of feeling understood. Thank you so much to share your story. Please keep this journey !!!

I lived in Asia almost my entire life and I can honestly say things still have not changed. Adults still think they know better. And I don't think it will ever change, it's rooted so deeply that unless you've spent some time or grown up in Western world then you'll never think any differently neither

Your testimonial about your upbringing within a family that held outdated beliefs that played a huge part in influencing your self-esteem resonated with me. Thanks for having the courage to be vulnerable with us by sharing your personal life and the struggles that come with being a racialized person as well as how you used your skills to navigate it over the years in the business sector. The fact that you started out teaching others and you've gotten so much out of it speaks volumes about the power of serving others while promoting/positioning yourself the right way. Wishing you nothing but happiness and success with your new family in the many years to come.

We missed you and thank you for being real. Authenticity is my saviour. It has made my family dislike me a lot but it made me like me for me. My career options now is a mirror of who I really am, I truly enjoy my new path, and it is not because of what my parents wanted for me but because it is what I wanted for me. I relate completely with your story. Your self-expression is contagious and thank you for your sharing your story, authentically. Welcome back 😎.

I was one of those you helped to land their new job. I was laid off back in 2021(tech jobs norms nowadays😔) and after that, I decided to take a career break for more than a year. In January of this year, I started job hunting but before that, I binged watch your videos on how to tailor my resume, how to ace the interviews, and even how to boost my confidence as I felt that I already forgot all of those after taking a year of a career break.
I submitted my application to 6 different companies and I was surprised that the next day, 4 of those contacted me for an interview, one of it which I liked was the work-from-home setup and a day shift job(which I manifested as someone who worked graveyard my whole life).
I got the job and will start this coming January 30.🤗
Thank you so much for your videos and will pray for you on what you went through right now.

I want to applaud you Linda for stepping out in front of the world and baring yourself openly. As a content creator, we can often feel almost naked when we put ourselves out there, just open to criticism and nastiness. We do it so that the beautiful can shine through as well. We do it because we love people and know we couldn't sleep at night if we didn't. Well, it's freaking scary Linda and I know making this video took a huge effort, mostly mentally. I applaud you!!

Hi Linda, I found your videos about 4 years ago after I became a mother myself and felt completely trapped in a job that was destroying my mental health and my confidence. Your videos helped me to understand how I could prepare better for interviews and I found your "how to answer" tips particularly helpful; prior to that, I was definitely barking up the wrong tree a few times. I am so grateful that your content, which is incredibly high quality, was available for free on CZcams. I appreciate your vulnerability and just felt like this was an opportune moment for me to thank you for helping me when I was vulnerable

Linda, as a job search advisor I frequently use your videos in our meetings with job seekers. Your videos are very helpful, and the information you share is always so on point!
As a fellow CZcams creator, I have to say how much I noticed a change in your delivery on this video. Your older videos are very succinct, fast-paced and information-packed. I noticed immediately that your voice was more mellow... you seem more centered. Good for you! I'm glad that you've had some time with your babies to find your "why" and bring your whole self back to what you do professionally.
Don't get me wrong... both the "old" Linda and the "new" Linda are wonderful to watch. You just have a way of connecting and sharing advice that is so valuable.

I feel so seen and validated hearing your story. It is so similar to mine. I was an over achiever and perfectionist because I grew up believing that was how I was good enough and worthy. Having been raised by 2 immigrant parents who didn't have an opportunity for an education, subconsciously and in some ways consciously, they didn't feel worthy and good enough. That became my inner voice, until I had children and didn't want to repeat those patterns with my kids. I finally was able to heal and break generational parenting patterns. It is quite a journey but grateful to be on it. Thanks again for having the courage to vulnerably and authentically share your storey. I have no doubt it resonates with many, including me.

You are a ROCKING lady. Your interview videos have helped me so much over the years, especially because of your unique insights and clear way of explaining things. I think it's awesome that you are sharing more of your authentic self on CZcams and I am 110% here for it! Any way you want to go, you go!
Also, I relate very strongly to your story of growing up in a poor family with super-high expectations. I always did perfectly in school, but as a result of not knowing myself or what I wanted, I ended up completely floundering in the work force. I have spent the past several years trying to work my way into an industry where I can support myself, but it is not my true passion. I look forward to any and all future insights from you on this topic!
Also, you lived in a haunted house!? That is wild! I totally understand if you don't want to talk any more on that topic for fear of being seen as 'woo-woo,' but I would eat up a more detailed video about that story! You are the most grounded and down-to-earth person I can even think of, so if you say there were ghosts, there were ghosts.

Ok this is beyond uncanny. I grew up in a Canadian South Asian household, became a corporate lawyer for the money and status (I went into accounting first but me and numbers don't get along lol), I also nailed match week and accepted a job at one of Canada's top tier National firms. I also questioned what the heck I was doing all of this for while frequently working past midnight, feeling burnout and depression. I quit and became a legal headhunter/recruiter. About 4 years in I started feeling unfulfilled and created online courses for job seekers to get better at resume writing and interviewing (is this freaking you out yet???). Then I realized I wasn't utilizing all of my gifts so I started coaching others on how to connect with their calling and build authentic, freedom based online businesses. I've been doing that for the last 5 years. I'm also attuned to subtle energies and am a Reiki healer, which gives me a channel to direct my abilities/gifts.
Tell me our journeys aren't aligned!! We should connect. If there's one thing I've learned from leaving Canada and moving to Bali where it seems like every 2nd person you meet has a similar story, there's power in community! ♥️ We stand more firmly in our power and feel safety in being who we are when we surround ourselves with others that are doing the same.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey!

Hi Linda. I just wanted to say I resonate with everything you have mentioned. About 2 years ago, I watched your video and found my first proper job in Toronto as an immigrant. (Thank you!) And also around the same time I watched your video, I was on a self awakening, trauma releasing, journey. And in the process of that, I also started to be more connected to the ether and different "energies". Now I am still in that journey. I know I still have unresolved trauma but at the same time I am very interested or intrigued by the ether world (or magic). After watching this video I felt I have to leave a comment. Please continue with those topics and I will keep watching. Btw, after your camera went off, I think I see more glow from you. I feel like I can sense more of your aura and there are two human shaped glow that I see on both of your sides from time to time. I am still very unsure about my interpretation of the ether and energies. But I just wanted to share with you. Hope you all the best and please keep uploading the new videos.

It is so true about Asian culture. I hope things have progressed and gotten better now. I just recall growing up in a critical environment, teachers/parents, there is always a demand to be better. It felt like me as a person is never good enough. I am always wrong and the adults are always right.
Now as an adult, I find myself always in the mindset of criticizing myself or others. Also if something goes wrong, I always feel like I’m the one who caused it.

Hi. Your videos have helped me so much when I was looking for work after the pandemic. Out of all the job searching advice out there I really connected to not only your great career advice but your advice on living a more authentic, self-aware, and conscious life. How you feel about yourself and the vibration you give out to the world is such a huge part of not only how you present yourself in interviews but your overall well-being. As a working mom like yourself, I understand how much your children can change you as a person. It's like suddenly you unapologetically become a more authentic version of the person you used to be. It can also be quite triggering if you have unresolved issues as a child, but your children can teach you so much. Anyway, good luck on this new path. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Here's my story: I've worked endless dead-end jobs from age 18 - 40 which is my current age. I have been to trade schools many times and graduated from school, only to remain working a dead-end job and struggling to pay back the school loan. I got free online education as a QA software tester back in 2017, and I never found a job. When you said something is holding you back, yeah, it is. The hiring managers I interview with are holding me back. They make the decision if I get the job or not. I was laid off from my dead-end job a few months ago, and I am looking for a new job. If I get another dead-end job, that's fine. I know I tried to do better but failed many times. I still believe some people have better blessings than others. Meaning people who don't try to do much with their life to succeed, they actually do! Vs. me, trying to live a better life, I frequently run into obstacles, blockages, and delays. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Linda you are such an amazing and smart person! But I gotta tell you this was abundantly clear before you published this new video. So therefore you were always worthy and valuable the whole time. As you explained you were a high achiever in your high school days too. There is something more to be said about the parenting style that could fill several pages. Anyways I think your ability of being introspective is what enabled you to find your calling which is you like to help people feel their worth. The career coaching advice that you published online I can say it truly helped me. So that is why I am so obliged to contribute to your channel in my own small way by responding here. You helped me learn how to present my skills and exhibit who I am. But this was like 4 years ago lol I have grown so much since then. That was such a great video! Thank you for sharing your story, I was already a fan of your videos and you've helped me so much in my career. Learning about your childhood and your new talents make you more endearing! I can relate to your abilities of being sensitive to the other world, all my life I've always felt things in other peoples house or my own.

Wow just know I admire you very much. Your more then brave. I know from a person that is strong like you and strong headed is sometimes hard to tell or say when you don’t feel 100 percent so that’s very brave. I have learn to build my confidence with all your videos and be by authentic self. You are very authentic and the fact that you can teach people awareness of how to find there true authentic self that’s a blessing. Parenting definitely changes every life’s view when you are responsible for another being and you want that person to be full and complete in themselves in who they are authentically. Life is a journey never predictable. Inner self awareness is key. 💞✝️😊

2 months ago I became a mom for the 2nd time. I am blessed with two little boys as well just like you. This week I am going to completely rebrand this channel and will see how it goes. After watching this very video, I am going to record something authentic to my small community saying good bye to them. It just feels like I started something 2 years ago and now I want a change. I've been thinking about it for several months and it was so difficult to come up with this decision. Can't imagine if I would do it with a huge channel like yours, almost 1 mln subscribers. Respect to you girl and good luck. It's still warm, eh? Love from Montreal.

I am often afraid of what people will think about if I bring up spiritual beliefs, but there are people who are ready and there are people who are not. Those who are ready to talk about it will understand each other and will connect. Those who are not ready, will join at a later stage in their journey, but they eventually will 😊

I skipped so many videos before because I landed a corporate job then I quit and never wanted to get back to 9-5 again. I never unfollowed you in particular, however I did it with other channels that really annoyed me so much. ...they repeated the same and the same information and I had a feeling that their videos are the same. But, I watched 2 of your latest videos and just saying: Huge respect for coming out and saying all that. Moving forward will be interesting to watch your channel evolve in a different direction.

I grew up the exact same way. At 32, I still struggle with my self worth because I was taught that I really didn't have much value, wasn't smart, and that my opinion did not matter. My parents didn't care that I was on the honour roll or that I'd graduated from postsecondary 3x, if it wasn't what they wanted or what they told me to do, it wasn't celebrated.

OMG! I began writing the long comment below early on in your video. Now I am at the part where you're talking 'spirits and paranormal activity'. This is so incredible to me because 'God may be my only witness' but I am very sensitive in this manner as well - to people's spirits (we are spirts who live in a body) and supernatural spirits. As a child, after my mother died, I had a Good supernatural guidance that spoke and led me (from within). As a teen, I was consumed with fear of evil spirits because of my early spiritual encounters. I know what you're saying is real.

Wow - I so applaud you Linda. What an extraordinary women and mother you are. I received the email but was reluctant to review the video. It's so amazing how we're truly not alone in our experiences in this world because I also had the same type of upbringing where the children were not really talked to or nurtured in a loving way; children were more like servants to the adults in the home. In my case, my mother died when I was nine and being the youngest of 11 with most siblings married with children of their own before I was born. So, my father, all siblings and their spouses were authority figures over me; not to even mention how the neighbor could actually discipline or accuse you without dispute because they were an adult. I am Black - Colored Negro - in those days and at 66 I am still battling the residue of those very insecure feelings you described. I still deal with society anxiety and not knowing how to connect with others, and it's tormenting because I am that person who will give the shirt off my back literally if needed (though I would need some other covering being a women). Watching you share your heart is so giving and freeing (even for me). Thank you so much for sharing. I will not give up in my search for freedom to live in and of my authentic truth and self, and just relax. God Bless You! Bj
