Yo! I bought this bike from Eurocycle in Las Vegas! I'm EXTREMLY Pleased! The reason it seemed lazy to you, is this engine NEEDS to be broken in... It is literally a Kawasaki z650... Same engine... except the Morini has ALL the extras that are missing from the Kawasaki.. Brembo brakes, Digital Bluetooth display WITH navigation!! 43mm Upside-down fork that's fully adjustable.. WAY better tires than what comes on the z650.. All for less... Not to mention the fact that this bike is BEAUTIFUL and CLASSY!! It is NOT a street squid bike... so.... I guess its for mature folks who want a well built, good looking naked bike with all the bells and whistles for less. Thanks and ride safe!!
I'm surprised the video didn't mention the Kawasaki roots of the motor.
@@keithert Well, for some reason Yammie has a vendetta against Parallel Twins. The engine in this bike is an EXACT copy of the ER6n but made by CFmoto. In fact, if you ever have trouble locating parts, you can just look up parts list for Ninja 650 or z650 or even the Versys 650 and they will match up! Thanks!
@askaryanpulse5755 any issues with it? I'm picking up an scr also from vegas. They marked them down to $4900 and decided to trade in my interceptor 650.
@niospartan Hey there! Actually no, I haven't had a single issue! I take that back... the only issue I had was finding insurance due to Moto Morini being new in the US, most insurance companies do not have them in their system, so when you give them the VIN number, it doesn't show up. Fortunately, I jumped through all the hoops for you and STRONGLY recommend you use AllState Insurance. I did all the leg work and had Morini added to their system. Not to mention their insurance was by far the lowest around! But mechanically, no issues! Remember, it's a ER6n engine so they have been around forever and are bullet proof! Use a K&N 303 for the oil filter.. believe me, I just saved you some time right there :)
@niospartan Oh and BTW, once you get your bike, stop out to Pikeys Coffee on Decatur and Sunset on weekend morning's! There's always 20 to 50 bikes from 8am to 11am. It would be great to have another Morini to add to the group!!!
Kpa is kilo pascals. 256 kpa is about 37psi
I bought the SCR version of this bike about a month ago and ive loved riding it. I agree that it is lazy feeling but I dont mind that. One gripe though... Its currently in the shop because it wouldnt start. Has a 3 year warranty so we will see what happens.
Update. There is a known issue by Morini. The fuel pump or hose is faulty and doesn't provide the engine with enough fuel to start properly sometimes. Morini overnight shipped the part to my local shop all covered by warranty.
I participated in a demo yesterday with the SCR. It did not want to start until I gave it throttle while starting.
I like the 6 1/2 badging as a nod to the older Moto Morinis. I really feel like it should be a V Twin though.
True. The v-twin 350 engine they used to produce was totally unique back in the day.
Moto Guzzi style motor would look cool
New 750cc Italian-designed 90degree V-Twin Morinis are on the way!
This looks way better than the MT07 because it doesn’t have the stupid rear fender. It’s powerful enough - if I was getting something just to get around town on this might tempt me.
Looks exactly like the Triumph Trident
You can find used , better motorcycles with known reliability and good resale... this is below average.
It looks like the CFMOTO 700cl-x with the 650nk engine. Probably assembled in Italy from Chinese components.
They likely get the frames with engines and most of the electrics already in them
I would trust cfmoto more than this.
Tbh at this price point it’s definitely too expensive for the ride and build quality, while not being special under any aspect. Though I have to admit: it’s one of the most beautiful bikes, I love what they did to the headlight (it looks way cooler than the trident, and even the CB650R’s) and the industrial design complements the bike perfectly.
Not really. The CF Moto 650 is low at $6,400 compared to other similar bikes
The build quality is excellent for the price, so you're wrong on that one. It's the engine performance that seems underwhelming considering the 650nk (same engine) go hard
@@chrispekel5709 You need to test ride one, the engine is not as underwhelming as he makes it sound.
He is low on his quoted numbers (notice how he gave a low range instead of quoting the exact factory number?)
@@briangc1972 I am in Australia and own a 2014 and did have a 2018 650nk. Haven't ridden one of the newest models so I was just comparing people's comments with my experience
Just got to test ride this bike!! Coming from someone who owns an FZ6R and an Interceptor 650, these are my thoughts:
THE GOOD:
- not sure what's wrong with yams bike. 0-60 for my demo SCR was 4 seconds flat, the bike absolutely scooted and felt as fast as my FZ6. Felt about as light too; and the weight is kept low. My guess is that the bike sits closer to 450lbs wet and the hp is slightly under-reported or the gearing is just that short. No issues at all doing 100+MPH
- handling was fantastic. Incredibly modern and smooth, like riding a magic carpet. It competes with my FZ and puts my Royal Enfield to shame.
- motor is reasonably smooth with no unsettling vibrations. Just a subtle pulse which gradually increases to a minor buzz at redline. The bike let me knew it was there and I wasn't bothered with poor vibrations like on some inline 4s or twin-cyl bikes.
THE BAD:
- Motor runs worryingly hot. Like way hotter than a 650 making "55hp" should run. I've owned chinese bikes before, and this gave me similar vibes. Namely, I'd trust it to go anywhere for the first 3 years. I would NOT be confident owning this bike for the next 20 years after that.
- power is WAYYY up at the rev range. This is where it does in fact feel like an overgrown 300; I had no pull until about 5,000RPMs deep into the tach, and max thrust is basically achieved at redline. The motor is not particularly linear and makes you work to go fast. It's all the (subjectively) annoyances of a 600 supersport with none of the power.
- sounds like a far blown through a tin can. I could probably live with the revviness of the motor if it sounded like a crossplane twin but that crankshaft stops me from enjoying it whatsoever. The bike... FEELS Japanese. I truly felt like I was riding a versys 650 wearing a bow tie and a suit.
If you're looking for a raw Italian sportbike, this isn't it. This bike is something you buy as a second bike to keep miles off your project bike, or as a more attractive replacement to a scooter. If the objective is PURELY transportation in style, it's a beautiful machine. And I have faith in the Morini brand: the new 750 corsa corta v-twin bikes look incredibly promising! I hope to see more, and to see better from them in the future :)
I rde on for a month and 2200km in the Philippines last month. The bike never over heated with me, my pillion, and 35kg of luggage as we raced through the mountains in 31˚C temps
Reviewed this bike myself for my channel and thought big youtube channels would ignore this model 😂
i willcheck your video
Who builds a bike in 2023 and says “gimme that signature ninja 650 sound”
Executives who have only ridden a scooter
I don't know why my comment was removed but like what I said I have this bike and it's about $1800 cheeper in my country than Honda CB600 and Trident 660. For the price you get a lot like Brembo, ABS and good LCD screen by which now it gets Map mirroring on your phone. I don't know also why your acceleration is slower that most reviews but mine is definitely not that slow.
$700 more for an MT-07. I know which one I'd buy.
That's a really good point.
Xsr700 is styled closer to this.
Any non Chinese bike for sure. Many used on market less than 5k.😊
More parts available for the mt07 as well
Morini
Wow 55hp?
My Cf moto CLX 700 Sport is 50cc bigger and 20 more hp! W/ aftermarket midpipe/muffler, it weights in at about 430lbs wet.
Built as good as a Kawasaki!
Wow it's been decades since I have heard of Moto Morini! I thought they had folded. My step father had one that he let us kids ride around on. Think it was a 175.
Oh wow is this the 47th p-twin in the last 3 years ! I can’t wait for more of exactly the same, but with an unknown name with low resale value !!!! Amazing!!!!
lol I get your point with the p2, but Moto Morini is an old name plate.
Ok.. so you have never heard of Brembo, KYB, Pirelli... and obviously Moto Morini (which has been making bikes for 100 years) the Engine is straight out the CFMoto Factory and is and exact copy of the Kawasaki ER6-N, Which is known for being bullet proof... so sounds to me like its just unknown to YOU.
I'd love to see a BMW s1000r review, I've had mine for a while now and I love it. Such a great offering and surprisingly comfortable for the performance that it delivers.
bikes nowadays are more focused on the torque figures and 0-100 stuff.... that's everything for Street roads.... because a track enthusiast won't settle even settle for 14 year old stock R6 or Zx6R.... 💸💸
Love the look the SCR is nice I like different looking bikes
Wow just as I was thinking it could not get worse.
Nothing screams reliability like Italian motorcycle made in China, or the other way I don't care.
That’s SI unit for pressure. 1/100 of a BAR. Note: on the side tag you probably find pressures given in bar (or in Pa) so it’s easier to compare actual values to target. Also nowadays most manometers have multiple gauges so it’s easy to use the unit your specs are given in.
Anyway if the dash can be set in metric or in imperial MM should have converted the units.
I test rode one at Americade and really enjoyed it! Seems a good choice for someone who wants a new motorcycle without breaking the bank.
I am waiting for Corsar Sport review. it looks very promising.
Interesting review, interesting bike. Looks cool, great Starbucks run bike? lolol.
I'd be interested in a similar review of the ADV bike they make, the X-CAPE. Comparing that to the CF Moto ADV bike could be, ugh - fun?
You can tell Yammie was trying real hard not to dog this bike lol
I agree that it looks cool, but as the saying goes, speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?
As soon as i heard the price, mt07 came to mind.
2022 MT07 otd for me was $9649 1 year later and im still giggly about it.
But i can see where someone might want Moto Morinni
Nearly 10grand for an MT07 ? No thanks
If it was this or an mt07 on A2 I would go for this otherwise it falls a bit short it's just in this awkward position with just above A2 power just tune it down 8hp and keep the torque and it's a solid deal
I think I would like to see a Morini STR style fuel tank on the Trident.
another chinese/italian bike to try is the benelli 502c
I love your videos
Do one one benelli 150s please!
Perfect for Daily City Ride..
It would interest me who would buy this over a used SV 650 or Mt 07 . You could even get them new . Cb650 t aswell
Because that's a Kawasaki 650 engine tuned to comply with EURO5.
I heard that it was an Cf-moto engine, but don't know if its true. Only thing i do know, its not an Italy made bike, its china made.
I@@klausknudsen106 it;s definatly an Italian made bike.the Italians buy plenty of them, they are proud of their motorcycle heritage and wouldn't entertain buying it if it was made in China.
CFMOTO bought the Kawasaki design and tooling to make their engines. Kawasaki sold them a design that isn't optimized for US or Euro compliance and has to be detuned to meet compliance.
@@nla27 Ok that i didn't know, thanks for explaining.
@@nla27 That's true but CFMOTO moved away from that engine to KTM engines recently. These guys are using them now. CFMOTO will update their kawa engined models with KTM ones from now on.
I have a clx 700 from cfmoto and it is amazing
I have seen these on Eurocycle and have wondered how they justify the price. Higher than established Japanese and CFMOTO prices and far less hp, this will not sell unless it is the only bike in the dealership or extreme markdown.
Maybe they should make 250cC versions of even 300 and send them to Uganda, how about that? I would love one right next to my Simba sports ++. Besides Chinese seem to know how to keep good prices when they cross over to Uganda.
The Motor it's a Kawa 650 blueprint made by CFmoto btw same at adventura and 650nk
its the same CF Moto 650 clon form er6n and if you change exhoust and remap you can get +10hp easy
Pascal is the SI/metric unit for pressure. 1kPa (kilo Pascal) = 100 Bar
Negative, 1 Bar is 100 kPa. 256 kPa is 2.56 Bar or 37.129 psi (100 Bar is 1450 psi)
Could you cover the fantic caballero please?
Thisis like comparing a 6 cylinder mustaing to a v8 gt.they look the similar but performance is greatly different. That has the old kawasaki 650 twin in it so ya its gonna be last generation feeling, but still great looking bike for someone that dont care for the performance and just wants to ride the road.
Kpa is Kilopascals !
Anything over 5000 USD and this won't sell. Their MSRP is very optimistic
Hmmm. Going to pay the same insurance premiums as every other 650 but only has the power of a 500. And how's the dealer network? Am I going to get warranty work done within 50 miles of my home? Availability of parts? Every bike needs a clutch someday.
Can you test their adv bike , the morini x-cape
That looks very similar to my cfmoto clx sport. Don't see why anyone would choose this over a 700 sport, though?
I'm sure this has been said heaos but kpa is metric unit of pressure.
Also, funny how the front calipers are front the rears of a multistrada v4
Hey Yammie, kpa is a metric measurement.
Why do so many 650 engines struggle to make power now? Is Honda the only one that can get good power out of a 650?
Funny that you say it makes only 55hp, in Europe, with all the Euro5+ emissions regulations it is rated at 61hp... Also, the motor is Chinese (maybe most of the bike is, the style is definitely Italian), it's the CF-moto 650 that is a copy of the Kawasaki 650, used in models like the Versys etc...
Do a moto guzzi stelvio review
"Quirks and features" I thought Uncle Doug De had copy right on that phrase? You might get a letter from his lawyers🤣
Are they reliable?
i think my cb300r would be a good race for that.
I'm all for the market flood of these machines to scavange for cafe and dirtscramble beaters for 2k and less with probably less than ten k on the odo
Soon as I heard 7 thousand MSRP. I thought soo 1000 when it breaks down or gets neglected
Whats that riding jacket? Very nice
Rev'it is the brand.
First thing I thought was that they are trying to compete with the cfmoto clx
Every hobby or passion has good news, and bad news. The bad news is “ you get what you pay for”. The good news is “ you get what you pay for”, but only if you’re very lucky.
So an MT-03 competitor for MT-07 money. Basically.
CF Moto 700 CL-X Sport looks better, offers more power (74 hp) and costs the same $.
I just don’t see this putting a dent in the US market.
And has more dealer support
It reminds me of the CF Moto retro 650 they make I forget the model name or maybe compare it to the smaller displacement Moto Guzzi. An MT07 I thought was in a different category
I have ridden a lot of Royal Enfields and Guzzis and the Seiemezzo feels a lot more like a modern sportbike than the unique experiences the V7 and Conti GT offer. Yams bike has some issues or something cause the morini was absolutely scootin' and had pleeeenty of power
Sad to see all these smaller motorcycle companies that were really rare and expensive, like the Moto Morini, Benelli, etc. being bought by Chinese companies and losing their craftmanship and uniqueness. Kind of degrades the brand name of the retro bikes that collectors own.
Haha, Italian 'craftsmanship' was always total garbage. People just love the nostalgia and remember the past in a more positive light
@@chrispekel5709hey, don’t talk about my aprilia caponord like that. That was a sweet bike like no other. Never let me down. I would buy a shiver 750
@@chrispekel5709 People do remember things better than they were. Talk to any motorcyclist who owned a pre-Evo engine Harley, and they were usually wrenching on it as much as they were riding it, plus it leaked oil, but there was a real love bond between the rider and their bikes. Those bikes had character, as well as the Italian bikes that sometimes put beauty of its design ahead of its reliability. (Before the Japanese bike manufacturers came along, you almost had to be a backyard mechanic to own and ride a motorcycle.)
Please feature the new 2022-2023 Honda CB500F!
He hates Honda.
Probably good to learn on and if it drops it won't hurt as much
I mean, i dont think its meant for speed, Im sure it supposed to be around urban and get around town and stuff.. Like yammi said.. or maybe a little crusing... and now they are 2023 on sells for 6 grand even... obvious plus TTL..... I dont know I bought a CFMOTO CL-X 700 good power, nice cafe retro look, and for some reason, everyone said this was a big deal.. but I will never use it... is cruise control... apparently for 4100 dollars, you never get crusie control. I bought a brand new 2022 model, like a coupel of weeks ago and honestly couldnt be happier..... The only thing I wish is instead of the round electronice display, it would be the 5 inch TFT display they literally put on everything else.
Royal Enfield's 650cc engine makes 47hp so 55hp isn't that bad. Not to mention Triumph's 900cc engine that makes 65hp.
Except the RE is air-cooled and still weighs less
The RE is also a bit quicker compared to the acceleration front this video and others
Yooo the RE and triumph are torque first bikes with an easy going nature. This is a naked bike, not the same vibe.
Lol the 0-100 is slower than RE and triumph
@@burnttoast9890 The 650NK which is the same frame and engine as this is *defintely* faster than the RE. I should know, I've got the NK and my friend has the RE. So someone is obviously lying
Yammie!!
Looks like the HD Riders Academy bikes with 300cc bigger engine
CF MOTO engine while being more expensive than a CF MOTO. Might as well get the CF MOTO and be happy if you were going with the Chinese makers.
I think he said it's designed and manufactured not in China. I've seen some examples of poor design/build quality on the cfmoto 450ss. Maybe being designed/manufactured outside of China makes it an actually good bike.
@@HA_Horizons 1:14 you are right, he does say designed and manufactured in Italy. it is built in china.
@@klausknudsen106 does manufactured and built mean different things? What's the difference?
Manufacturing has to do with making the parts. Building is putting the parts together. Designed is drafting the schematics on a computer. Design has little to do with anything other than the way it looks.
@@HA_Horizons I would typically agree with you but CFMOTO bikes are different. They are actually as good as most bikes out there. While they tend to be heavier than their Japanese competitors (all Chinese bikes are), performance and build quality wise, they tend to be on par. That being said, I can’t see purchasing this bike over a CFMOTO due exclusively to the price premium. If I were going to pay more than a CFMOTO, then I’d just get a Japanese bike and call it a day.
Benelli is ita-chino too
Um a worse version of a CFmoto CLX 700 for around the same price? I don't get it
I read somewhere it's assembled in China.
Minato level fastness
Saw them in person and really cool looking bikes…. Thought they were Moto Guzzi’s…. Still not ready to put $1 into a Chinese motorcycle….
Obfuscate… good word
MT07 with Royal Enfield handling.
These bikes are $4995 on Euro uncle right now lol changes everything for the price
those would be kilo-pascals, if nobody answered your tire pressure question
india 125 beginner bike..
usa 400 to 600 cc small bikes or beginner bikes
180º parallel engine is obsolete by now. The 270º is such an improvement it makes no sense using an obsolete technology on a new motorcycle, especially for an unknown brand trying to make a dent in the market.
Chinese bikes are very good when build to a higher price point.
Example?
We will see when cfmoto does a v4 1000..... I’m hopeful they will get better manufacturing, materials and engineering that will trickle down.
Here in my Country Ecuador I think is going to be a great product because here the price is 8.900 usd and a duke 390 is on 9.000 usd and the mt-07 is on 14.000 usd 😂😂 .
7 seconds 0-60 whoa…. My F-Pace SUV will do that….
I like my Benellis
It looks EXACTLY like the Triumph Trident 660.
why are you being so polite?
Looks like a Ducati scrambler
Similar story of Benelli
100kPa = 1 bar.
i cant understand how someone would buy that when there are bikes like sv650 on the market.
Every Sv is made in Japan. it has a v engine that everyone discontinues due to cost, that is fine tuned for 20 years. The Engineer responsible for the mark 3 went and bought the first bike of the line because he was so proud of it, saying its a recipe perfected through the years. And SV is probably cheaper too. Maybe if you prioritise leds or screens, I don't know. I am in this shit because I love engine character and craftsmanship. I guess times change and people prefer different stuff
1:02 omg its another chinese bike (*makes the chinese eyes😑) 😂😂😂
Why you do the chinese eyes when saying chinese 1:04😂😂
Chinese quality with Italian design, what can go wrong! I really don´t know what is more scary, electrics made by Italians or Chinese.... lol
nahhhh, that thing is too expensive... spend a lil more and get a mt07 or spend less to get a duke 390 which i would still prefer...
It is more user friendly at less HP.
It's 61HP, not 55.
KPa is metric
I actually like the visual design of this thing…..I just dislike the Chinese company associated with this…I wish the Japanese would buy these Italian companies.
Yamaha already buy share in CFmoto, japanese are lazy these day, they only focus on high spec bike
