I would like to make a weekly planner where I have the days of the week down the left side of the page and Meal 1 snack 1 Meal 2 , snack 2 , Meal 3, Snack 3 ,exercise going across the top of the page . I also want a page for each day of the month for 6 months. You perhaps give me an idea on how to do this. I would also like to import it to Goodnotes

Hello, I've made a couple planners, both having features that were considerably different from one another. In all the tutorials I've watched, the one things that hasn't been taught, is how to determine the size. Everyone shows what they use, but not how to help us decide what we should use so that the planner appropriately fits the planner. Either I end up with wasted white space around it or part of tabs cut off. How do we determine our size when we are setting up the planner? Thank You

I have made it through the whole tutorial thank you. Question: for some reason my ipencil 2 does not work a efficiently as yours in Keynote. It keeps wanting to write instead of selecting. What am I doing wrong? Is there a place for settings that I am missing?
Thank you very much for watching the video! 🥰 As for your question, try turning on the “select and scroll” on your keynote settings. You can do that by tapping the three-dotted icon (“more” icon) in keynote then “Apple Pencil”, then turn on the “select and scroll” option. Hope this helps. ☺️
Hi Gwen. A trick on deciding about the size of your tabs is to add a shape with the height to width ratio that you like. Then duplicate them into the number of tabs you want. After that, group all of them and resize the group with respect to the size that you want the tabs to be.

I was having the same problem! For me, I had to click the down arrow that was next to “Presentation”, then “Presentation options”, then “Presentation Setup”. Slide size is now at the bottom right of that page

Great tutorial thank you! Now... we can create our own, upload to like Etsy and the user/buyer will be able to write in it just like we would regardless of what they're downloading too right? (since it's essentially a .pdf you can edit in or write in? Probably an obvious questions here but was looking to import my Canva Designed journal into it as well , then upload to Etsy.
Try double tapping the tabs to add some text inside the shape. If the shape is added in the slide layout, make sure to add the text in the slide layout too. 😊
Hey!!! your tutorial is really easy to follow and I love it but I have a quick question. When I click on the brush icon to edit, all the tabs get hidden behind the menu and I can't see what I'm doing. is there a way to fix it so that my slide doesn't get hidden behind he menu?
Hi Fizah! Thank you. 😊 You can zoom in and out by pinching inward or outward. I do this when creating my digital planners but some says this doesn’t work on their iPads. Let me know if it works on yours. 😊
@@fizahyounas9966 I have a feeling I think I figured this out. Fizah, what size iPad are you using? I’m on the 9.7”, same as my wife. There is not an option that I’ve found to allow this. I think when you have the larger iPad, that’s how it does it due to the larger screen real estate. I’ve watched other vids and have noticed that those with the smaller ipad, the options hover over the slide, and the ones with the larger, the options slide in and act like a sidebar. If someone has the smaller iPad and get’s it to work like hers though, I would LOVE to know how haha.
I FOUND A WAY!! The most frustrating hour of my year but if you carefully select the pages and tabs and group them you can move them over to the left to do the positioning of the tabs then move them back. Lots of selecting and grouping and ungrouping but worth it!!
Hi Keizie, I love your tutorial! However, my issue is matching your exact measurements - how do I manipulate the shapes to remain at the height, width, radius you specified? H-E-L-P!
Thank you so much! ☺️ once the shape is resized you can tap on the brush icon then on the arrange tab, activate “lock”. This will prevent accidentally resizing the shape. Hope this helps. 😊
@@6Bpixel thank you for replying so quickly! The issue I have is getting the shapes to STAY at the dimensions you give - when I size them, it goes to either too much or too little. How can I fix that problem - is there a way to type in the specific dimensions?
You can enter the width and height of the shape by going to the size and position under the arrange option. W is for the width and H is for the height. 😊😊

it might be due to the update. You can now see it by tapping on the file name whike it is opened then presentaiton option > presentation setup > slide size Hope this helps! ☺️
I have googled until my head wants to explode. I have asked for help in facebook groups and on apple keynotes and apparently it's some hidden secret that must not be talked about, I have no clue. lol. How do you have your paint brush menu locked where it isn't overlapping your planner tabs. I can not for the life of me figure out how to stop my menu from overlapping my tabs, so I can't adjust them.
@@6Bpixel Sadly, that does not zoom out for me. My image continues to snap back to "full screen" and slide under the menu. My menu is an overlay, not it's own section -as yours is. :( Guess I'll just find a different program to try to create a planner in. :*(

Hello I have a question so when I downloaded the planner in good note why do I have to press the parts the are linked for a few second and then select open link for it to send me to the page like you did it with one click. Why my isn’t working like yours? Can you help me :(
Can someone please tell me why I cannot drag the shapes with my apple pencil? Everytime I try it activates the keyboard. Very frustrating as it is impossible to drag to the correct place using my finger. Especially whne doing small shapes. Please help.

Using the slide layout makes the process a little faster. 💙
If the links are tabs that are the same on each page u can select all tabs and copy and paste them after they are linked

Make sure that you are using the Master Slide/ Slide Layout to be able to rename the template slides.

Whenever I use my Apple Pencil it draws on my slides. How did you turn that off so this doesn’t happen?

Great tutorial thank you! Now... we can create our own, upload to like Etsy and the user/buyer will be able to write in it just like we would regardless of what they're downloading too right? (since it's essentially a .pdf you can edit in or write in? Probably an obvious questions here but was looking to import my Canva Designed journal into it as well , then upload to Etsy.

@@6Bpixel The Monthly tabs. I can not change the name for each tab.
Try double tapping the tabs to add some text inside the shape. If the shape is added in the slide layout, make sure to add the text in the slide layout too. 😊

Hey!!! your tutorial is really easy to follow and I love it but I have a quick question. When I click on the brush icon to edit, all the tabs get hidden behind the menu and I can't see what I'm doing. is there a way to fix it so that my slide doesn't get hidden behind he menu?

You can zoom in and out by pinching inward or outward.
I do this when creating my digital planners but some says this doesn’t work on their iPads. Let me know if it works on yours. 😊
@@6Bpixel no that doesn't work either. It always ends up centering the slide which leads to it getting g hidden again
@@fizahyounas9966 I have a feeling I think I figured this out. Fizah, what size iPad are you using? I’m on the 9.7”, same as my wife. There is not an option that I’ve found to allow this. I think when you have the larger iPad, that’s how it does it due to the larger screen real estate. I’ve watched other vids and have noticed that those with the smaller ipad, the options hover over the slide, and the ones with the larger, the options slide in and act like a sidebar. If someone has the smaller iPad and get’s it to work like hers though, I would LOVE to know how haha.
I FOUND A WAY!! The most frustrating hour of my year but if you carefully select the pages and tabs and group them you can move them over to the left to do the positioning of the tabs then move them back. Lots of selecting and grouping and ungrouping but worth it!!
Hi Keizie, I love your tutorial! However, my issue is matching your exact measurements - how do I manipulate the shapes to remain at the height, width, radius you specified? H-E-L-P!
Thank you so much! ☺️ once the shape is resized you can tap on the brush icon then on the arrange tab, activate “lock”. This will prevent accidentally resizing the shape. Hope this helps. 😊
@@6Bpixel thank you for replying so quickly! The issue I have is getting the shapes to STAY at the dimensions you give - when I size them, it goes to either too much or too little. How can I fix that problem - is there a way to type in the specific dimensions?
You can enter the width and height of the shape by going to the size and position under the arrange option. W is for the width and H is for the height. 😊😊

Also my planner I made in keynote will not export in GoodNotes anyone else’s have this problem?
I believe you have to export the file as a PDF first before putting it into your GoodNotes app. This is what I had to do before.
I tried I hit export as a pdf then it goes to GoodNotes but it never opens in GoodNotes
When importing directly to Goodnotes, try choosing the “Import as a New Document” when prompted. Let me know if this works. 😊

You can only rename your template slides in the slide layout.

I tried to resize presentation on keynote on my ipad 12.9pro but i don’t have the option to set my own size?
it might be due to the update.
You can now see it by tapping on the file name whike it is opened then
presentaiton option > presentation setup > slide size

I have googled until my head wants to explode. I have asked for help in facebook groups and on apple keynotes and apparently it's some hidden secret that must not be talked about, I have no clue. lol. How do you have your paint brush menu locked where it isn't overlapping your planner tabs. I can not for the life of me figure out how to stop my menu from overlapping my tabs, so I can't adjust them.
Hi Suzie. When my paint brush menu is on, I usually zoom out my slide so that I can see it entirely. You can do that by pinching in with 2 fingers.
@@6Bpixel Sadly, that does not zoom out for me. My image continues to snap back to "full screen" and slide under the menu. My menu is an overlay, not it's own section -as yours is. :( Guess I'll just find a different program to try to create a planner in. :*(

Hello I have a question so when I downloaded the planner in good note why do I have to press the parts the are linked for a few second and then select open link for it to send me to the page like you did it with one click. Why my isn’t working like yours? Can you help me :(

Yes. I have added templates when I am already using it. Or I insert monthly digital planners in between the pages. ☺️
Can someone please tell me why I cannot drag the shapes with my apple pencil? Everytime I try it activates the keyboard. Very frustrating as it is impossible to drag to the correct place using my finger. Especially whne doing small shapes. Please help.
you could have the wrong type of apple pen for your ipad
maybe you have to turn on that setting for your apple pencil. In keynote (...)>apple pencil> select and scroll
