I was driving to work this morning and I just started singing the song. It reminds so much of my dad. I am 56 and remember him singing this at church and at home. So many childhood memories. RIP George Dantzler Jr.
This one hits home. My father took me the a concert where these guys were performing on a Friday night at the age of 6-7. I can still remember sitting in the balcony watching.
HALLELUJAH!” PRAISE THE LORD, ONE MY FAVORITE SONG. Thank you for sharing HALLELUJAH!” May the Lord, Supernatural Bless You And Your Families IN JESUS NAME AMEN 😇🩸🔥❤️🔥❤️💖💜💟☮️✝️
I'm so emotional with this one. Yet happy to see so many comments in this thread specifically mentioning Dads and grandfathers. THIS IS MY DADDY'S SONG. He is not much of a singer but a WARRIOR in THE WORD OF GOD and the fireside training he and my Mom gave me and my siblings I want to pass on to my children. My uncles used to sing this song, and my grandmother used to get happy in THE SPIRIT whenever they did and I'm so grateful To GOD for those precious memories in small town Arkansas that gave us a foundation FOR REAL! I PRAY THAT WE GET SERIOUS AND ABOUT OUR FATHER'S BUSINESS CAUSE HE IS DEFINITELY COMING BACK AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I WANT TO BE AT THAT MEETING AROUND THE THRONE!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND EVERYONE WHO COMES ACROSS THIS SONG AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!!🙏🏿❤🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Rest in Peace to your Father...⚘ We weren't allowed to play anything but gospel for years. We sang this, our oldest sister sang lead most time with Daddy. We just sang background. This is Truly a Loved Classic...
After a classmate & her cousin started singing this classic & posting it on f/b it brought bk so many memories as a little girl. Now I can't get this out of my head. Everything happens 4 a reason.
Queen Street Baptist Church, Hampton, VA Deacon Tommy Marshall (R.I.P.) and the Male Chorus would really minister to the church on this! The good old days!
This is a great soul stirring & self examining song, like so many of the old gospel song , they. were and still are food for the soul also a good worship tool.!!! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!!
My dad is ill and not expected to last much longer (only a few weeks at the very most). This is one of his favorite songs. I remember him playing and singing this song all over the house when I was younger. Now, I'm playing it for him while he's fighting to stay on this earth a little while longer. I really hope this gives him a little peace.
given then a new-modern cassette opportunity,i amazingly played at about age 26 piano for the junior choir at the mt allen AME in key largo FL for this one in about 1978
