    Note: For this recipe, you will need to make a total of 12 whole sandwiches. Each whole sandwich should have 3 thin slices of Ham, Turkey or roast beef. Each whole sandwich should be sliced into 4 pieces. 4x12=48 sandwiches. In the video I just rounded it off to the nearest 10th. You will also be using the entire loaf of bread to make the sandwiches. 24 slices of white bread altogether. Also once done, it is normal that you may have a very small amount of bread or meat left over. You can make additional sandwiches if you like. You can also use whole wheat bread if you like. Just wanted to let you all be aware of that. Thanks!

    Just a tip. An electric knife works wonders. You can actually stack multiple sandwiches and cut ends and quarter. That’s how we always did them in the restaurants I worked in. We also made a mixture of mayo and mustard to spread on the bread at once.

    • @CharlieTheCookAndrews
      @CharlieTheCookAndrews  Před 5 lety +12

      I used an electric knife long time ago. I will buy one soon. I was contemplating buying one but I went for the regular bread knife since I always wanted one. Getting the electric knife will definitely help me out when I make sandwiches in the near future. Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated!

Ground ham with a little mayo and sweet relish mixed together makes a great sandwich spread or you could use smoked deviled ham spread and add to it. So much fun to make. Would make these growing up for lunches or parties or people who came to visit. Really enjoy your channel and love the southern hospitality.
      That hospitality was always shown, no matter what area of the country you lived in! You would never go to someones home and they not feed you and serve you something to drink, Dont know what happened..... Bless you!!

    Hi Charlie! These were perfect for a hot summer's day. I made up a platter of these and we could just grab and go all day. I did scale down some because it's just 2 of us. I did put 3 slices of meat per sandwich but I think I could have cut it down to 2 and added a thin slice of baby swiss instead of that 3rd piece. The sandwich needs a little texture and I feel like that would do it. I miss Blue Plate mayo. I saw that jar and got nostalgic. We no longer live in the south, so I can't find it here, but I can find Hellman's and it's the next best thing. These were cute and bite sized. It feels so fancy. You're right in cutting, you have to barely touch with the knife or it smashes the bread. The bread was easy to cut through, the meat was a little more troublesome to cut it through cleanly and not smash the bottom piece of bread. Thanks so much.

    Hey Charlie-how you get that lunch meat cut? Thin, shaved etc. or do you just say a number-like #2 etc. Also, do you have a recipe for a good chicken salad sandwich to mix in with my assorted sandwiches?

      I ask the butcher to slice the meat thin. I don't have a recipe video on Chicken salad.

    Question on your praline recipe. Can I use sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk?

    • @CharlieTheCookAndrews

      C J I am not answering for Charlie but if you try to substitute condensed milk for evaporated milk you will have to reduce the amount of sugar used in the recipe as condensed milk is very sweet.
