Consultant Dr. Julian Humphrey you are a gem of a man and doctor
So he should be....probably rakes in a six figure salary that is likely supplemented by private work whilst he leaves his junior staff and nurses to work long unsociable hours and get paid peanuts.

@@thewildetyme1112Did I say it was. A lot of it is for the camera, I doubt he spends that much time with his patients in reality. Its the Nurses, HCAs and junior doctors that do the hard work.

This is the doctor you want when you hit emergency. Straight to the point, friendly but professional, asks and answers lots of questions, non-judgemental. Barnsley is very lucky to have him!
I think all the doctors on Casualty 247 are excellent but I do like Dr. Julian Humphrey. I like the way he talks to the people he is treating which must put them at ease and he has such a good sense of humour..

I love dr Humphrey. He has such a good bedside manner, really connects with his patients. And I don’t think he will ever loose the twinkle in his eye.
He didn't start training as a doctor until later in life .he trained part time and had another job .A friend told him one day he would make a good doctor .that did it he was so caring

I commend all of the emergency room staff for what they do for others to see that they get the care and help they need. Watching all of the British Dr's and nurses and the gentle, caring way they attend to their patients. It is not what you find here in the states, not saying that they aren't professional, there just isn't that gentle side to them. I truly admire the calmness they all seem to posses. I love watching all of the British programs with anything that is about an emergency. Thanks for all you so for others, God bless and stay safe. Much love from Virginia, USA.

It’s so nice to hear that strong Yorkshire accent. All my Family are from Barnsley, Ossett, and other surrounding Mining Towns. We moved away when I was maybe 6. I’m now 63 and have lived in the USA for 36 years. Visiting England with my Son in September. Gagging for a good Pint.🍺🍺

Porters? How very nice for them! Never in my nursing career did we get to have porters...we nurses had to haul those heavy beds, many times by ourselves whenever a pt. had to be transferred elsewhere in the hospital. All the heavy lifting, pushing and pulling, and running those concrete halls fast as possible for 13+ hour x3 day shifts ruined my petite body. I'm now living with severe chronic pain d/t back, neck, bilateral hips and lower extremities damage. And I had to quit in my early 50's when I could no longer walk. I saw staffing cut down, down, down until a skeletal crew was the norm. I look back and am amazed that I did all that I accomplished. I preferred to work with geriatrics patients and I dearly loved my work and it was the patients. I had a few places I worked where the nursing team was compatible and congenial...but that was not the norm by any means. It was a rewarding yet brutal work environment. And I was just one person putting out as many fires as I could. God bless all the nursing teams and those doctors that actually team work with them...very unusual in reality. There is only one hospital in this large city that had porters when I was nursing, and we were always jealous that we didn't get to have that bit of necessary help. I wonder if they still have and use them nowadays?
If you had such a hard time you should have quit early on instead of complaining now. Bet you didn’t complain on pay days.
@@SJC49 how tacky and heartless you are. It was a statement not a complaint. And you have no idea the responsibilities I had as a caregiver when I was home. Not just at work. We barely ever got by. You don't care or have any empathy...wasting my time. You do it and get back to me. Need my shoes?
Has anyone read a book called "STOP! DO NOT TAKE THAT SHOT! BECAUSE VACCINES ARE SAFE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT SAFE MEANS?" from Amazon? Alot of people don't know what "safe" means.

I always laugh about people getting ketamine. When I broke my ankle, I got ketamine. I knew from watching ER type shows on TV, that people get ketamine. I was trying really heard to be aware of what was going on, but all I got was buzzing. I know at one point, they had to take off my jeans to fix the fracture and was chatting with the nurse about getting them removed (one of my favourite pair) and taking off my undies - and I felt slightly drunk during this conversation. Wonder how mny other guests of ERs who try to stay aware during the procedure.

They need a separate part that is all “urgent care” like the ones that don’t need to be at a ER but went due to being just drunk, bumps and bruises etc.

It doesn't help that when your 02 is low and you're gasping for air. People tell you to calm down and take slow breaths. It makes it worse cause you don't have any control.
Its the most appopriate and helpful advice. Breathing slowly helps you calm down and catch your breath.

Fully agree with doc that heart attacks do not always have classic signs. I had major back pain between my shoulder blades, both shoulders severely pained down my arms to my elbows. Thinking its a back spasm, I drove myself 50km to hospital and had an ecg done twice and it did not show. My blood results showed I was busy having a major heart attack and I received 4 stents a couple of hours later. Thank God my doctor insisted I stay for blood tests as I told her I am having a back or neck spasm.
An ER, A&E in britush or PS in italian are always busy
Could someone tell me the difference between a sister and a nurse? In the US, a sister is a nun.
Sisters are Nurse Managers or supervisors. They did used to be nuns when more sisters were nurses, but the title has remained, even though many are not nuns nowadays.

Dr. Humphrey love your attitude, you put yourself in the patient shoes or imagine that person being your parent and treat them the way you would want to be treated. You also have a good sense of humour, your right laughter helps

As a trauma/ICU/anaesthetics doctor - why put an end stage COPD patient into resus?
Our miners are our heritage Yorkshire and south wales ,both my grandfather's and my uncles and my dad all worked in the colliery hard graft my father has pneumoconiosis and emphysema plus smokes like a train 86 years old and hes still fitter than i am bless him 🙏💙😎
🤣 don’t ask my mom where’s the bunny, one of her visual hallucinations is giant pink bunnies . Due to her having a mitochondrial disfunction from strokes caused by preeclampsia with my brother. Wasn’t diagnosed till 2015. Mine can be shapes and occasionally people especially during ptsd episodes or migraines

How did the elderly lady with the split pressure sore make out? I didn't catch any update about her. It didn't look good.
Different that they call their doctors consultants, our US doctors are doctors if needed further more precise care they say we are calling for a “consult” or they just say we called a cardiologist. All nurses are nurses here, there they are sisters or nurses if male then nurses.
As many of the staff should go one night to watch the comedy show & hackle him most of the show😮😊🙃👍😶🤠🤓😜❤

Why doesn’t that poor man have a port if he has no IV access? I’m assuming they do those in the UK port is usually used for like therapy but my mother had one because she had no IV access. It was hard to stick her. Basically, it’s like a line that they put in under your skin that’s hooked artery or vein or something like that, it’s literally a button so they just put alcohol over it on your skin and then they stick you and the needle go straight into this little kind of like the top like he would if you were drawing you always have you don’t ever have to be stuck again once you have these

Notice nurse has cut finger out of glove. Maybe hep c, hep a or b hope she reads this she doesn't want hep c treatment it's horrible went through treatment 3 times. Caught hep c when in wreck and I received blood.
It's normal to have to do that because you can't feel the skin/veins well through the gloves, so if you're having to search for a vein that isn't obviously seen its easier skin on skin. Frequently happens to me, I have horrible veins.
