Everything else sounded very thin and like from a synthesiser, especially the violins and especially on the T1's, i mean - just beyond horrible. How can those be headphones for so much money?

Listening to the 990s on my 990s. I now have holes in my ear drums. Holy sweet mother of treble. For real though, they sound absolutely phenomenal when EQ'd.
*sigh The reason why we make a purchase of this size mostly because we are looking for the ultimate sound, if i pay such a high ammount of money for a headphone it better be dam perfect, instead of just sitting there fiddling with the settings on an EQ adding and taking away frequencies, while it is a good way to fix the underlying problems you should not be needing such a thing because clearly the people who thought of the 990 where perhaps a little bit deaf when creating them

Im listening on a pair of k240 S headphones, and off an e10k dac... I can say the only headphones in the bunch that have a midrange that sounds good to me are the 880s. The 990s add a touch too much bass and treble. I personally had bad experience with the dt 770 pros, and had to send them back because I don’t like how the mids sound on them. The 1990 pros are definitely interesting, and seem to be the better, more professional headphone out of them all... with better transient response... but I just don’t care for the unnatural effect they seem to have on the treble. I would have to choose the 880s personally, because of their slightly more natural sound. Thanks for the demo! It is very helpful!
4:48 an immediate difference in tonality. The DT880 sounds better than DT770. 1990 sounds way more musical than any of them, just wow. Ofc it is priced higher though :)
I hardly disagree. It seems like that in the video sure but the listening experience in real life of the 770 compered to the 990 is so different. The wider soundstage of the open 990 doesn't come across in the video.
Ok I will sell you mines dt770 80ohm new with box. Because I even prefer cheap superlux 681 Evo or audio Technica ar1is, both budget. Dt770 is one flawed headphone with piercey metallic treble and hollow body lacking bass. Worst headphones I heard. Especially when they are hyped up by everybody. Crazy. In this video you can't compare them because they all have similar sound. And music is not the best either. If they compare all these shits with good headphones you would hear difference
Very good video. My custom tuned DT770 M is giving the very near sound to DT1990 Pro. DT770 Pro and DT1990 gives the best flat sound and extended low end. T1 sounded very very weak, but the piano sounded fair enough. But, in DT770 Pro and DT 1990 piano is sounding real. DT880 and DT990 sounds like something without low-end, although they have great flat response. T90 also lacks of low-end, while T1 gives the feeling that it lacks of mid freqs.
They are. I own 1990s, 770s, and demoed my friends 990s and 880s. 1990s are the best of the bunch in every sense. 770s are awesome for electronic music though, and i think the second track here kinda exemplifies why.
@@bryo4321 i actually have / had 770 that i returned because i think they are horrible in person for electronic music. They are bass heavy, yes. But why would i listen to something bass heavy on a can thats also bass heavy? Its just TOO MUCH. in comparison, they were awesome on genres with less bass, because the overall tone compliments that. Its like with food: imagine you eat something really spicy...now what would make for a more rounded flavour? For the concerto, 770 pro and 880 are almost identical (the volume of 880 is higher in the video, so they might sound different), 990 is too harsh. I own both, and 770 pro and 880 are great for classical.

I have noticed for a long time - that DT770 plays violins very correctly, exactly as they sound in life.
Is that the 80 ohm he has there or the 250?
When they lie in a pile on the table - you can see that two numbers, mean 80 Ohm.
