@@tirushone6446it was built by a bunch of people who though the trench warfare of WWI would stay dominant and so they made the tank long to cross trenches

@juancortapan7845 having no suspension unstabilises the vehicle, not the other way around. TOG being rock-steady aim fwhile having no suspension is because of its pure mass.
@@YbJeon ask the asu 57 if the suspension makes the gun more stable XD

a gun with is2 pen at 5.3 plus good reload and nicely spalling shell, but absolute dogshit mobilty and armour
i always said to myself "just imagine the minds of the TOG II were actually making the TOG II durring WW1; as much as engine problems etc. that tanks have, being a literal metal bridge with a cannon ontop of it, it suits the whole "bridge" well for WW1's standard.

But fr the 28pdr is quite a blessing, being able to pen panthers up front is a huge blessing

i really can't tell why but exactly. FV4005 wont oneshot because of hesh somehow is implemented as throwing playdoh at your enemies, apds will bounce for no reason, if they do penetrate they will be causing no internal damage, even if you hit a crew directly he may turn yellow. And their BRs are complete jokes.

@@haatonofthebasementoutofth276 except things that throw premium HESH still oneshot...both the AVRE and m728 perform wonderfully...i even take them into 11.7 and if its a city...oh boy you better believe they clap...but the 4005 in an 11.7...i might get lucky and splash an AA or light next to the leopard i hit in the engine deck and did minor spalling...idk what they did but HESH that isnt premium really bombs now...HE seems to be better than ever
FV4005 is almost disgusting right now, with sturmtiger reload time it should one hit anything it faces (it usually dosent) and it has a one time turret ejection feature if something even looks at it

At this point just do the IS-2 driving backward strat, granted it’ll be worse but at least you won’t instantly die

Enemies can just shoot turret and you still die instantly since the vehicle has no armor anywhere

I did protection analysis and i think the best strategy is to angle it like a Tiger I, that will require 200+ mm of pen to penertrate hull. The turret's armour is weak.
@@user-jm8sy5ox2jI don’t get why people keep saying this, I have the TOG II and I find it’s armor to be extremely effective. If you play with even the slightest bit of intelligence you can easily get 4-5 kills per game. The driving backwards strat only leads to long having to repair every 12 seconds

It's actually a use of a backup vehicle, but I like it all the same!
This tanks plays exactly like the ARL44. Good turret traverse, exeptional AP pen, good frontal armor. Big turret weakspot.
But the speed of maus
The armor is not good. The reverse speed is the exact same as the forward speed, so I recommend going into battle backwards as the engine and transmission eat all the shots, just like in the IS-2
i have played the tog and i gotta say at 5.3 its worse than the ARL-44
except the tog II is 1000% slower and the crew is majorly condensed compared to the ARL44
"Big turret weak spot" meaning turret = weakspot.
Also don't forget you vertical cannon drive gets shot out all the time, they both have that in common as well.
Nice to see the side machine gun ports are still USELESS

I fail to see how it's ruined. I've had fantastic experiences with it, the thing is borderline broken if you use it right.
I think that the TOG should be dropped into 4.3 or 4.7 due to its rly weak armor and it should be a super heavy tank, not a cardboard box with powerful gun, it simply is just big, weak and slow hot tog with a powerful gun
It is armored frontally about as well as a Tiger 1, and the sides are about as thick as a KV1. Combine this with the fact it has an excellent gun, and it belongs where it's at.
@@highadmiralbittenfield9689 it doesn't have the mobility and angle effectiveness of the Tiger 1, the sides are huge, flat, and less bouncy than a KV1. Combine this with the fact that it's a British gun with inconsistent damage and accuracy, and it doesn't belong at 5.3.
@tranminhnguyen6217 it had no trouble with its survivability in all the gameplay I have seen, especially when sponsons are left off. Put it any lower, and it will be brain-dead OP.

The problem is how AP post-pen is working in the game. irl, it is rather non-typical for the gunner to keep working as if nothing happened having taken several 76.2mm hits to the face (or anywhere). And HESH causing the same amount of damage as throwing playdoh at the same speed of a similar weight for some reason.

you might not realize it cause you are up against German guns, but TOG actually has a quite similar armor arrangement to the Tiger 1, except the turret is worse, i suggest TOG owners to turn the GWP modification off (side MG and the hull howitzer that only shoot smoke), so that you can eliminate a weakspot and allow you to angle your TOG, just like the Tiger. I am also obligated to remind TOG owners that TOG's gun has really good pen, like slightly better than Panther's 75mm, so weakspot unavailable to 17 pounder, is available to the TOG's 28 pounder, for example, while shooting at a sturmtiger, you still cannot penetrate the upper front, but the shell is powerful enought to go through the transmission and still do a good chunk of damage.
