What a special treat to see into Laura's home and studio! We are so grateful to Laura for sharing all of her insights into fiber organization and creating a space that you love working in. Let us know which of Laura's tips you're going to implement in your studio space!
WOW!!!!! I got sooooo many ideas. I can see that I need smaller plastic boxes. And the shoe organizer……GENIUS💫 Oh. Thanks so very much to Laura for inviting us in to tour her studio. It’s so organized and it lets you enjoy the beauty in all the colors and textures we use in felting. And, let’s face it, we’re all “fiberholics” here. We love to look at it, feel it, revel in the colors and textures. It’s a very inspiring space.
Laura’s Studio is amazing! Her organization and storage are incredible! How wonderful it must be to work in this space. Thank you Laura, for sharing your studio, your home, and your town with us. You are an inspiration! And thank you to your husband, as well, for being so supportive.
You’re so welcome…and yes, my husband is awesome. If I hadn’t met him I’m certain I would still be working in the lab never having time to make anything and always wondering what I’m actually capable of!
There are so many great tips for creating a home studio. It's been a challenge for me keeping my space clutter free so I actually have somewhere to work! I can't wait to watch this again, as I slowly start making some changes! Thanks Laura and Living Felt!
What a treat to see Laura's studio! And wow, what a gorgeous place to live! My favorite takeaway that I'm definitely going to adopt is the tip about using the plastic boxes with adjustable dividers for small amounts of each color family of wool. That will be so much easier and cleaner to work with while felting, rather than having huge balls of wool all over my dining room table!
What an amazing WW! Beautifully edited, and so thoughtful about the structure that she has built around her artwork. Time to take a good hard look at how I feel when I’m in my workspace…which is nothing like Laura’s! Thank you as always!❤
Hi Marie and Laura! Love this video and would love to see more along these lines, studio spaces, organizing, tips and tricks, etc. The slide is awesome! So fun! Marie, another wonderful interview and you know I love your interviews so much! We don't often see you with your pretty tresses long and loose, you look so pretty in this video! Thanks for an enjoyable sharing!
I watched the live show yesterday, but I had to come back and watch it again and make notes. Note to self.... I need a slide to my basement studio. Laura is so inspiring.
I hope Laura appreciates how blessed she is to have these wonderful spaces and great equipment for her art. I can't imagine being able to be that organized.
I definitely do appreciate it. I grew up with very little and moved from rental home to rental home every year as a child, even staying with family at times. 7 people in a 2 bedroom home was a lot! After sharing a room with two sisters or sleeping on bunk beds in what was supposed to be a porch I will never take for granted how wonderful it is to have a space of my own like this!
Thank you Marie & Living Felt for bringing us on this tour and thank you Laura for allowing us into your home & studio - such fun! I'm hoping one day to be as organised with all my wool supplies and to have all the variety that Laura has - slowly but surely I'll work my way up. I think I'm going to try to figure out a way to keep samples on the front of my drawers like Laura has with her contact lens cases - keeps things looking tidy and easy to find at a glance!
WOW! Was that inspiring! I'm terrible at organizing and it just cuts into my felting time when I misplace things. Such great ideas for storage and a beautiful way to display it all. Thanks so much Laura, and Living Felt for this incredible opportunity! Now I need to get moving on Laura's class!
This was a great tour! I got a few ideas but I would love to see a video about small space storage that addresses to unique challenges that can happen with tiny spaces. Thanks for sharing.🐑
Right now everything is in a big box which is growing as I gather more items. Really enjoyed this visit with Laura and certainly was glad to see all the amazing ways to organize what I currently have and hope to acquire in the future. Looking forward to any upcoming studio visits. Really like her indoor slide and hoop display.
So sorry that I missed this. I was out shopping for soap and a sushi mat to wet felt! So y'all were in my thoughts. Thanks so much for picking my name for a prize!!!
Wow! So many fabulous storage ideas. I'm currently planning my studio space which I'll be accessing in the next couple of weeks so lots of great tips to consider. Thanks Laura & Living felt
This was such a treat! I love the practical tips of storage ideas (the contact cases was so inventive). I do know what you mean about bags of fiber cluttering up your space, so I liked the idea of a project box. We are a Boilermaker family, so it was also fun to see the area.🖤💛. Congratulations on your success and thank you for letting us see your special space!
Good idea to storage scrap fibers yarn in a divider box. I storage my scrap in a jar. It's certainly more beautiful to look at than a box but the negative point is that fibers are mixed and use is more complicated.
I love her contact lens case idea for swatching. However, I don't use contact lenses. I wonder if anyone would have an idea of what to use instead? I haven't been able to come up with an idea.
Maybe just keep your eyes open for a bit and look at things you use every day as options. Maybe something will jump out at you. Or check with an optometrist. They must throw tons away daily!

Wow, so enjoyed this tour of Emerald Hill Textes. Thanks so much for inviting us along.
This has been so wonderful. Thank you so much, Laura.

So much inspiration from the outside environment that surround her property👌

Loved this insight into Laura’s creative world. And SHE HAS A SLIDE!! Well we all want one now don’t we! 🤩
Wonderful Wooly Wednesday - Thanks!!

I used to go to Turkey Run all the time. You have such a beautiful natural space to get your ideas from.❤
What a fun place! So organized! And beautiful work! Thanks!
Excellent planning of her workspace! Thank you so much for sharing and your work is beautiful!

This was such fun. A home studio tour. Very inspirational.

Very talented artist on so many levels. I love your felted pieces, but your studio is a work of art itself. Very impressive and inspiring.
Thank you!
So inspired to reorganize my fibers - and fabric. Some more clear bins...and more cedar chips are on the list!
That slide was pretty sweet
This was great…!! Thank you for sharing…! Love seeing the beautiful felt.
Thank you living fell for this premier
What a wonderful workshop, thank you for sharing.
Wow! So many fabulous storage ideas. I'm currently planning my studio space which I'll be accessing in the next couple of weeks so lots of great tips to consider. Thanks Laura & Living felt
I liked the contact lens cases on the shoe boxes and the shoe boxes for storage, great idea! Now to find someone who wears contacts!
You could check with your local optometrist! They always make me put lenses in when I’m there. I can’t imagine how many they must throw away!
Love learning from your show
Lovely!
37:13 such a lovely studio!
Love this. Fun visit. Thanks. Many ideas.
Seeing a fellow Lafayette resident on your show is great. I’m alway looking for storage ideas. I work in my dining room’ space also. Great tips too!
So inspiring! My dream is to have my own studio one day!
very interesting ways to organize all the wool, it gave me some ideas

Enjoyed the video great storage too plus lovely work by the artist ❤😊
Wow!
You got to weed out anything sketchy lol I use the same term

Wonderful usage of space and creative storage ideas. Now who do I know who wears contacts?
I set up my craft room using several of Laura's tips and suggestions. It's my happy place! Sadly no slide though 🤔
I love her contact lens case idea for swatching. However, I don't use contact lenses. I wonder if anyone would have an idea of what to use instead? I haven't been able to come up with an idea.

What about moths?
They prefer dark areas, and Laura says her wool does not sit for long.
