As a brown girl, I just couldn’t stop myself from sobbing multiple times throughout season 2. I’m such a hopeless romantic, and love a romcom, but it had never truly occurred to me that I’d never seen a woman who looked like me being the main protagonist. Skin as dark as mine too. God, representation is so important. I’m so thankful for this storyline, Simone and Shonda for allowing this beautiful story to be told and for making us all feel worthy of being a viscountess ❤️

Oh my god even in this interview I can see Edwina and Kate in these actresses. So well cast. The actress playing Edwina is actually so sweet, talkative, charming and adorable and looks so much younger just the way she is described in the books, and Simone who plays Kate is naturally fiery, strong headed but mature and has this gravity about her just like Kate. Can't wait for season 2.

Not ashamed to say I binge-watched Season 2 in one sitting, went to bed, and the moment I woke up I started watching it over again. The script-writing, the conviction with which Bailey expressed his words, and the whole regency aesthetic is unbelievably captivating.

Whoever did Simone and Charithra's makeup for this interview needs to be hired to takeover for the show makeup. Simone's face ACTUALLY matches her body unlike in season 2. Please stop making the desi Indian girl orange or darker. Her skin colour is gorgeous as is and should be enhanced, not hidden under layers of the wrong foundation.

I hated how matte and dull they made her lips. I think they may have gone overboard with the shimmer product which has bronzey to orange overtones.
The second season is SO MUCH BETTER than the first season!!! I wasn’t going to watch season 2 anymore because I really didn’t like season 1, but I’m so glad I gave it another chance!! Now it’s one of my favorite shows! Congratulations to all of them!! I hope season 3 is even better!

Just finished watching S1 & S2 for the 2nd time and I must say Jonathan Bailey & Simone Ashley’s chemistry was off the charts!! They totally encapsulated the longing and passion that Kate and Anthony had with their each other that I think a lot of us was disappointed initially because WE WANTED MORE KATE AND ANTHONY ON SCREEN! 😍

I'm so incredibly proud to see Tamil girl representation in international TV, in recent times, Simone Ashley, Charithra Chandran and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Growing up, I very rarely saw movie and TV women leads of my complexion (pan-India). For a good 10 years during my teens and early twenties, I wore only black and navy blue clothes because 'light colours don't suit my skin tone'. To see these women as leads, see their beauty showcased along with powerful storylines, makes me feel more beautiful and strong! Representation matters!
this is so ridiculous because if anything light, bright colors look even more gorgeous on dark skin, which the bridgerton stylists knew by putting the sharma sisters in such bright tones like pink, orange, purple and red!!
