It is common for some ‘Immo off’ solutions to have elec windows not work - it’s down to not having a ‘registered key’ starting the car, to rectify this you will need to have matching: VIN + Component security + Immo PIN & MAC codes in both ECU & Cluster, this data can be imported to the cluster from the ECU - adding a 7th byte of Component security at random to the cluster & new correct transponders created, then the car should start correctly & windows etc will work.. As for ABS, the (long) coding will be lost & set to 0000….000000 if the VIN is not correct in the cluster, once this is set correctly the coding can easily be set in ABS, then you can do basics settings.. if you need help just reach out to me!

That level of damage on my 2006 A6 allroad would result in an economic write off.....which is why I drive the thing so damn carefully 😁. All it'd take would be someone carelessly hitting a wing or a bumper, or trashing a headlight and I'm buggad😢. So if you get stuck behind a silver allroad in Sussex being driven in what appears to be an overly cautious manner, well hi there, I'm just keeping it on the road!!

Common fault on these! .. Door harness gets pinched.. open drivers door, and between the door and body, remove the rubber cover! You’ll find 1 or multiple wires broken and touching! Causing windows not to work and buttons not to light up, central locking faults and has been known to cause abs lights! Worth a check! 😊
That turbo is at the beginning of the end, that siren sound sends shivers down my spine having had the same noise followed by catastrophic failure haha

For the window switch issue, maybe try the following:
Start with window completely shut/up.
1) lift the driver Window switch in up position during 10seconds. (Calibrate top position)
2) press the Window switch in low position, hopefully window goes down. Maintain switch in low position 10seconds after window is in its lowest position (calibrate low position)
Yes resets are common for most cars? drivers side hold button for 10 seconds
@@juliandodwell8213 Its how he described it, its an immobiliser issue thats stopping them work. The clocks and immobiliser need to be paired together. Then the windows will work.
This is the nemesis for many a car these days Dean. With your VAG knowledge and a good scanner you still come up against seemingly unsurmountable electrical problems. However, if you crack it, it will be a great runaround motor for someone. Any profit - doubtful. Very useful and entertaining content though 👍🇬🇧😎
Love these cheap car videos! Makes it more real and relatable 😊 So far it looks like it was worth the effort as you could probably sell for a couple of hundred £ profit. Now it will be a good condition Audi that's serviced. For someone that would do this as a project/hobby it would make a profitable endeavour unless they can make more money an hour doing something else or if you'll find a major fault on top of these. Hope to see an update of this car soon and more videos like it ❤

My last Copart car for 275 cost me over 800 sat on the path with fees and delivery from Chester. Like you I would normally collect, but my trailer guy was away on holiday when I won it, so to avoid storage, I had it delivered. I’m now at the point where making a profit is almost impossible after fixing the crash damage, and doing all the routine service stuff that was heavily neglected. The economics of old Copart cars just don’t work if you want to do the job properly and fix all the issues I find. And I’ve now done a few…

Hi, as a business model I don't think it is worth your while but I was consumer I think it's absolutely brilliant as this is the type of car a lot of us go out and purchase and you are giving us an insight without the fix it without having to pay extortionate garage charges keep up the give work loving the content.

Just friendly advice from someone who regularly buys from copart about delivery, I do NOT recommend you use them to deliver cars, I've seen them dragging cars onto their trailers with forklifts whilst it was in gear and hand break on so wheels were just skidding and etc. Also I use something called Shiply and its basically a website for transporters so you put a request in get quotes and bam you get it delivered. way cheaper than copart and a lot more care taken.
As a car transport business I recommend you don’t use Shipley for expensive cars, unless you want them to go missing 🤣… but yes I usually collect where possible

So A3 8Ps are common for broken wiring between the body into the door - pull back the rubber on the wiring and check for broken or shorted wires
Also for that year of A3 check if it has a MK60 or a MK60EC1 ABS module, you may need to run measuring blocks while driving to see if the signal isnt right, basically check for a bad ABS sensor or wheel bearing (generally a rear one) and then run steering angle sensor basic setting and that should be it all cleared - steeri by angle sensor codes store when it cant determine wheel speed (lock to centre to lock with holding each bump stop for 10 seconds - then going over 10mph)
Cluster coding (not immobiliser) can be done on the prefacelift with Ross Tech VCDS

Like your proofing processes, all modern-day car issues seem to be electrical related, the ABS light is a common issue on the qashqai seems to relate to almost everything except the ABS system.

It's 100% the immobiliser is stopping the windows from working, have a 08 a3 myself and got the immobiliser turned off on ecu so I could change clocks, and same as your own, the windows wouldn't work,
As for steering wheel light, when wheels are straight lock fully to the left and hold on full lock for 2 sec then lock fully to the right and hold for 2 sec and straighten the wheels again and that calibrates the power steering the light will go off 👍
Yeah I’ve sorted all the power steering now, only fault that remains is abs lights on because it can’t communicate with the immobiliser. So not sure how people delete the immo without faults
@SavingSalvage id say if u can get the clocks coded to the immobiliser it will sort your problem
@@SavingSalvage You can pull the skc from the ecm and then the cluster as well. There are a few different aftermarket tools you cau use and for the money Ive been happy with the x431 prog 3. Seeing as you have a thinkdiag you might be able to add the pro g3 from thinkcar. Same tool and has worked wonders on doing keys in the vw's/audis. 2006+ As i just replaced a cluster and did key for a 2006 tdi jetta.

Mrs golf was trying to raise the window when I pressed the button down and vice versa.
The solution for this was removing the metal casing of the motor and flipping it 180°.
That solved my problem.
I like these kind of videos where there is a problem that hard to find. For you maybe a pain in the neck, but for me those are the best videos to watch ! Hopefully you will solving the problem(s) and she might be running like a normal car. She is looking nice so maybe you will sell it for a price above 2200 pounds !

Sounds and looks like it’s had a decat of some sort. Meaning this is probably the “drill a hole into the cat” method to solve maybe a DPF issue. Makes sense with the mileage. Would love to see how that pans out. Plus anything maintenance related (especially timing). Love a good DIY project

I'm not surprised the insurers totalled it out as to be repaired properly the rear qtr needs to come off and a new panel welded in. Hence the panel cost plus labour and paint would be more than the car's worth.
No surprise the immobiliser caused other issues as the the security code between modules on the CANBUS don't match then certain functions are made unavailable. Main dealer should be able to code all the modules and keys so that they all match and be good after that.

i work on VAG products for a living and i have seen problems with the power steering like this wich then also throws a abs light most of the time when a battery was flat of replaced you need to hold the steering wheel fully to the right for 5 secons then to the left for 5 secons (with car runnin) that will most of the time solve the issue just a quick tip (i work at audi in the netherlands and have experienced this a lot XD)
My guess is the smoke screen on acceleration is a sign the DPF has been gutted as it was blocked. Technically an MOT failure (and also possible fine) and that's not a cheap component to replace. Juice isn't worth the squeeze even if you manage to sell it for more than it costs you to get it on the road with a valid MOT.
Clean little car that dean, id happily drive that everyday, modern vehicle electrics are a ball ache, immobilizers and modules everywhere
Mad how prices have risen in the past 6 or 7 years.
I sold a 57 plate 3 door black s line 1.9tdi (red I I think) in 2016 for 1300 quid with 90k 1.9tdi s line 😂 and that was with 300 quid profit added after using it for about 6 months, rough around the edges door card hanging off and roof lining was abit tatty but just goes to show how they’ve gone up over the years.
Back then you could pick all sorts of great cars up for sub 1k. Another example is a little 08 plate Yaris around that time for 400 quid without a mot in mint condition apart from the fact it needed tyres and wheel bearing. 70k got them sorted and 12 months test and gave it the old girl to use for a couple years . That car now is around 2500 today!
The underside is looking in better shape than my lower mileage 2011 A3. Hope you can save it and turn a profit.

check can bus gateway module for the windows they sometimes become a bit corroded and is a known common fault with the vag vehicles
Nothing will surprise me at Copart anymore after I saw Ford Kuga 2021 run and drive only with a slightly burnt passenger seat on the cat. B-breaker. Still is there, an auction ends in a few days.
Apparently as per DVLA MIT checker, the car had done 136,720 miles as of 08/11/2022. Hope that helps
Check the wiring going through the front driver side door, had wires break in there and cause all of the issues your having.

That mileage discrepancy happened to one of my friend's A3 2.0tdi if a similar vintage. He got in it one day and the mileage read 621k 😂. WBAC gave him buttons for it too when he punted it. Nothing wrong with it either.

Changing the cluster leads to imobilizer being active if not programed, and with the milage diffrence im guessing they changed the cluster for some reason aswell.

I had the same problem with windows and some interior functions on my vw bora and the problem was in can hi and can low wires, they were incorrectly wired... Look for those wires, maybe one of them is cut or something

Obd eleven is a great tool for the weekend warrior with an Audi. My Mrs has had an A3 for four years, and I bought the pro version when we first got it. It’s saved me a fortune, even coding an injector that went faulty. Brilliant tool for the cost. It also now does BMW and Mini. I’ve used it to do a bit of coding too. Turned on the fog lights when the steering is turned feature on the A3 and a few bits on my Mini like puddle lights with reverse.. thoroughly recommended.

Looks and sounds like its been gutted and remapped... (egr off=smokey) its got a typical coo sound which pds have when its gutted... is the cage still intact round the ecu? Usually the simplest way of telling wether its been tampered with (remapped)
Im pretty sure vcds tells you how many times the ecus been flashed aswell...
Could have got the eeprom chip in the clock read with odis and recode the key using vcds yourself... vcds requirels the pin to do that... looks like someones changed the clocks / probably an issue with a matrix screen which is a conmon fault on these and they expected it to be a straight swap
i got a 2006 Audi a4 sline 2.0 tdi that needs saving runs and drives. over fuelling problem, has 1 injector stuck open so a little Smokey (white smoke). might just need to purge system. MOT till end of march 2024 would pass MOT with injector sorted out a little rough around the edges but no rot.160000 miles cam belt water pump kit, air con compressor clutch, within 6000 miles. always serviced in my 8-9 year ownership, lots spent on her with bills to prove. 18 inch alloys with good tyres. very sad to see her go, to good to scrap open to offers. Love the audi a3 sline 2.0 diesel had a 2007 one a year ago payed €1k for it changed the waterpump and timing belt then i sold it for €3k but cars are more expensive in ireland then the uk but overall it was a good car to drive
You could try with key hold the buton to open kar and you will see if windows work
Had same issue with be polo issue was drivers side window motor
Had the same issue with a Golf 6 dash module, sent away to get repaired but the amount of faults it generated led me to get rid of the car
Windows problem is driver side connecter. Connect th switches and fiddle with connecter and at th same time press th switches up n down if you know what I mean !!! Just try it
Those wheels alone are selling for R10000 to R12000 (£420 to 500) here in South Africa🎉
I'd get it sorted, do the belt and pump, repair the rear quarter and keep/run it - the ideal hack

Dean, My 2006 A4 was written off because of a dent in the rear wheel arch. I fixed it with a ratchet strap and painted it myself. Looks mint again. Insurance like AXA, write off EVERY car if its more than 1 year old.
I will happily have the seats and alloys for my caddy project if you fancy letting me have them 😉
