    That lalique packaging is bonkers and the bottle is stunning! Would love to get my nose on this one for sure. LOVED your reaction to Creed's Viking, lol - your face and aside remarks had me dying!! I've not gotten my nose on this one and if im ever in need of a good laugh, i think I'll visit my nearest Creed counter based on this excellent review. 😊😊😊

    I'm not sure what you're smelling but Viking is excellent and very easy to smell the 'layers' from the bottle cap/opening. Viking goes from citrus-mint in the opening to more something similar to Pasha de Cartier when the woods kick in, then finishes hours later with salty/aquatic woods. Next, Le Frenchy is oddly named since it smells like an homage to Acqua di Parma Colonia, which is clearly a classic Italian fragrance. I love it and it's basically like an EDP version of Colonia. The name kills me because it should be called Le Italiano, LOL. It's literally a 'punchier' Colonia. If you don't believe me, spray Colonia and Le Frenchy on cards in different rooms, (so you don't assume you're crossing them up), and then tell me how I'm wrong. I still adore Le French because I bought it at California Disneyland on a trip with my brother and niece in 2019.
    I don't understand your hate for Creed. Are there any Creed fragrances you like? How about Spice & Wood or Bois du Portugal? I think those are fantastic fragrances. A few of my favorites in my 100+ bottle wardrobe.

    Your videos are always a burst of sunshine - thank you! Glad to know I'm not the only person who sniffed Viking and put the bottle down so fast I nearly knocked the display over. Can I ask if the le Frenchy bottle is hard to spray? I have an Odori in the same design and getting juice on my arm is like writing with a brick.

    your description of the lalique reminds me of gianfranco ferre when you mentioned 80s...! the creed was hilarious !! so sad that i missed this episode..... le frenchie is a suitable name because verveine and vétiver are very classic and traditional french ingredients used in many products. i would say it's more french rather than a guerlain or perfume name, if that makes sense. at some point in your overview of puredistance, fragrances such Chloe (Karl Lagerfeld ?? some strong peachy scent) came to mind, not sure why but i guess Poison sort of gets on with a group that includes Chloe, Giorgio Beverly Hills (i hated this one !), Montana and Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds. all were strong with some fruity element although the montana was not fruity but strong and amberish. i must make it for your next episode !! miss the interactive fun !

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před 6 lety

      Yes, it's like all those 80s gems! Properly retro.
      And as for Creed... let's just agree to see the funny side of it :-)
      Thanks for watching.

    The Lalique bottle is a beautiful display piece, but no need for the extra box contraption and overly complex press release. Overkill I think. I understand your feeling of the Warszawa fragrance - I have yet to try Guerlain’s Russie release due to the fear of being disappointed.

    Poison was spoilt for me and I did own it and rather liked it but someone at work used to wear it and much much too much and it became unbearable. The same with the other heavy hitters of the time which needed to be worn with care - Fendi and Paloma Picasso and Boucheron all of which I adored .

    I am testing my sample of Viking while you are talking about it and was thinking, I have a mouthwash that smells better...I will never understand the hype about Creed (maybe because I have no batchelor degree),....even if I have a bottle of Virgin Island Water in my collection. But I call it the "Guilty Pleasure Collection" because it somehow has a very trashy vibe. Just like Gaby on a swimming pool back in the 90ies in a german suburb: Coconut suntan oil and a limelike synthetic lemonade.

      Persolaise Perfumes - I tried Etat Libre Like This and You or Someone Like You and Vera Profumo - each of the edps. I wouldn't wear You or Someone Like You but I found it interesting. I am very pleased with my samples of Kiki and Mito but need more time with these.
      Perhaps you can help me by telling me what Voile d'Extrait is in terms of strength?

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před 6 lety

      Ah, you went for Vero. I'm so pleased.
      But first, the Etat Libre. Yes, it's probably a bit of an oddball, but I'm glad you found it interesting.
      Back to Vero...
      Unless I'm mistaken, the voiles are the same formula as the extraits, but they are more diluted, which makes them somewhat lighter-feeling. Vero's edps are slightly - but noticeably - different formulae from her extraits, so it's worth checking out both. I think I wrote something about this on my blog ages ago...
      Found it! Here's a link: persolaise.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/review-showcase-vero-profumo.html

    Oh dear now I have to smell Viking too... Not a fan of Aventus too, sampled it twice, thoroughly underwhelmed both times. Can't see why others go gaga over it. Very expensive for what it is IMO. Viking is even more expensive... BTW what a load of b*llocks in the press release but I'm sure it's not unlike what a lot of other brands do: fairy tales for grown ups.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  Před 6 lety

      Smelled Viking on paper yesterday. Not my cup of tea but not offensive either! The blotter smells quite nice after one day in the breast pocket of my coat... Does have "that Creed-iness" though, it reminds me of Creed's Royal Oud (the only Oud I like, just not its price) a bit.

    Is it bad that I am thoroughly entertained by your pain from Viking! Creed is definitely an overrated house. Royal Mayfair and their older creations I think are far more interesting as they are a bit delicate and classic. However most of their newer stuff is okay. Millisemme imperial is nice and aventus is decent as well but both perform abysmally on skin.

    • @Persolaise
