    A lot of Belgians go to the south of France on vacation, often by car. Brussels-Marseille is 1021 km, so your trips are great to show that it's easily doable. In the summer, we often do it in two days because with traffic jams it would take too long.

      Have been driving 2000km quite a lot Brussels-Riga, can be done in 19-25h, can be done in two days :)

    Regarding consumption Enyaq vs ID4:
    The MEB cars have one "issue": if the battery is too cold (i think below 9 degrees?), the car will heat the battery up to 13 degrees. That cost some energy.
    That makes a comparison between different cars difficult, when it comes to different weather.
    For example, look at the 2 ID3 that björn tested:
    We have one where the weather was quite nice with 9-19 degrees and avg 14 and another one where weather was bad with 4-9 and 8.5 avg, in avg 5,5 degrees difference.
    Ok one of them had a slightly bigger battery, but weight has not a really big difference on the consumption, at least not the couple of kg here.
    If we look now at the consumption of the both ID3 we see 200 kWh for the one with the good weather and 227 for the one with the bad, so 2,7 kWh more.
    If we now look at ID4 and Enyaq we see from temp 4-12 avg 8 and 12-14 avg 13, in avg 5 degrees difference.
    From Consumption we have ID4 251 and Enyaq 231 so 2 kWh difference.
    So i would say, same weather same consumption, more or less

    For Range Tests it is really time that the cars get 300 kg added to the passenger area and 100n kg in the boot and a towing pack with a cycle rack on and 3 Mountain Bikes carried, with the heating or cooling set for 4 in the car. Let us know what a Family Car the size of a SUV gets for range if bought and used by a family.

    Comparing consumption over the 1000km distance would favour ID3 over Enyaq and e-tron. Also Enyaq is more efficient in this sense than e-Tron. So depends what is the main criteria for efficiency, as lower KW total = less power costs.

    Great review as always - I watched some of this live at the weekend. I’m really interested in knowing how much ‘worse’ things are with the iV60 in terms of time to travel 1000km, and how many kms you can get from a full charge. It’s about £7k less than the iV80 in the UK. Also I wonder if putting the heat pump on the iV60 would make it match the range of an iV80 which doesn’t have the heat pump? (in winter )

    • @judebrown4103
      @judebrown4103 Před 3 lety

      @iix iixorb yes, I was wondering about that too. Think the heat pump was over £1200 to add to the iV60 but can't decide if it's worth it in the UK. Also, if you set the route on a long journey does it preheat the battery, prior to reaching the charging station... Or is that something only Teslas can do?

    Cool video! If there should be some space left in your spreadsheet, would it be possible to insert a column with the number of charging stops executed in the run? Also interesting, if you could derive an empirical value from your tests by how many minutes or percent of time the 1,000 km challenge is extended for every 5 degrees drop in temperature. Then you could calculate a hypothetical value for a standard 1000 km Trip in summer holidays.
