Gibson, I tripped when I saw this video, Bro. I bought the bike for the same reasons you did! Also, I own a red 2012 Focus Titanium! Last bike was a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 12S. Loads of power from the in-line 4, about 100hp. I think the 8R has as much low and mid-range torque as that 1200. Not as much high end, but top is 135mph for the 8R and 145 for the Bandit 12S. I have a bad back as well and don't do well in social situations (20 yrs in the military with a bit of PTSD). Keep riding, Brother and RIDE SAFE!! BTW, I am 60yrs young!

I actually really like the silver, black, and red look. If you were to change it, if anything, I think white, red, and black would look super cool too.
It happen to me too! When I would buy a bike, suzuki was not in my list, but i ended up bough one as if the bike choose me, gsxr-150. The engine is the most powerful in its class, smooth and easy to handle and easy in maintenance, also very very reliable. I hope one day a could have an 8R too!

Yoo Gibson, I just stumbled upon your video! Beautiful beautiful bike. I bought the sv650 ‘22 last oktober, but i just know i will upgrade to the gsx-8r in 1-2years. Just wanna say, never let someone tell you what do you. Do what you love, post what you love. Its your life, document your own thoughts and memories! Great video! Love from the Netherlands. Nice vid. I bought one too & in the same colours. Did my homework as well & chose this as it was the best all round package for me. The spec sheet does it no favours & it's much better than it would suggest. I also put the Akrapovic full system on mine & it makes a really positive difference for the performance & sound. Would definitely recommend it but also getting it mapped too as you'll practically double the gains from the exhaust alone. Not cheap overall but worth it imo. Also never apologise for talking about & looking after your mental health. My bike definitely helps keep me sane! : )

I just picked this exact bike up this weekend with 00000 on the odometer. My 6th bike and I love it so far.
I have the same 8R . It does have quick shift down. Just not as smooth as a manual downshift. I highly recommend the toce exauste. It looks really clean

I went to the bike expo recently and when I sat on this bike it had the most perfect riding position of all the bikes I tried there and I tried a lot.
And then you push your butt back and you slide into a perfect tuck position.
Damn near perfect this thing and it will redefine the caregory in a way the CBR650R never could because it's engine never made as much sense for the masses.
Only negative I've heard is the paint may be a little on the budget side in terms of thickness and so it may not age very well from all the chips and scratches.
For me however this is too much bike,too many ccs, too much torque,power and weight for my needs but I started out late and the best in me I have already left behind.
I'm sure it will serve you well😃
