Great video! As a side note, my biggest issue with the show is as a non-feed viewer, it’s almost all smoke and mirrors. Being ignorant to the real relationships and accurate alliances for the drama build up on the show just isn’t worth it. They’ve gotta bridge this gap between casual and hardcore watchers to formulate a real community
exactly, the show is such a bastardized retelling of the actual events that it’s not a surprise we have cameron ended up as AFP when he was actually a creepy shit for most of the season.
The youtuber - Kay LA Fro - does live feed updates. She did two videos a week, I watched those to get spoilers then I would watch the episodes when they came out .
Also.
Uh.
Cameron is the best .
@TheMurrmursonbottle Cameron was the best, I watched the feeds a little and watch recaps of the live feeds. Have yet to find any evidence Cameron was an actual creep. Just a lot of people who easily drop the label with no actual evidence of it
Zombie week was sooooo bad. It was called “scary week” but nothing scary happened…. And then they gave them gift baskets??? It was such a slow and frustrating week on feeds 😭
It was probably the most boring week in the BB house since season 1
The season would have been so much better if they didn't have 2 battle backs. Imagine Jag, Jared, and Cam all out before jury.
Jag wasn't a battle back. Matt won the comp to grant an eviction overthrow and he used it on Jag.
U mean where it would have been 75 to 82 days. CBS needs to realize less is more
Cameron winning AFP is still wild to me.
I’m only surprised that he beat Cirie, but he definitely went against the house every week and made it to the jury.
Similar to Cody winning in BB19, when you go against the majority you get painted as the underdog and thus get a lot of fans
His heroic edit was so jarringly different from how he was on feeds. It is what it is ig
I think when you made the tweet asking people what their feelings were on the season, I said Zombie Week was probably the period where all momentum of the season crashed into a wall and then proceeded to limp to the finish line.
The comp equity was really bad and I feel like it felt especially lopsided this year because casting brought in more older house guests. While that diversity was nice what it led to was the comp beast keeping them around and picking off the few (Jared, Cameron) who could actually beat them competitions and just steamrolling to end.
Add to that you have someone like Bowie Jane who despite winning some comps and actually have a solid resume for herself ironically had no win equity because she was perfectly content being the goat for Jag and Matt because she wanted them to win more. It was just a real enthusiasm crushing experience.
not only did a lot of the viewers lose momentum during zombie week, but tbh i saw a lot of the houseguests lose momentum and passion during that time too, i can imagine going from such a high that was the double eviciton only for it to come crashing down must have sucked a lot of life out of them as well.
Wasn’t Blue the only woman to win the POV all season? And yeah this season peaked at Izzy’s eviction and hit a complete wall after Cory’s
@@XanderMatthews-nv9zf yeah by the time of Cory's eviction it felt like a lot of the tone shifted to being resigned because there was no stopping Jag at that point. And then most frustratingly he got to be HOH two weeks in a row thanks to the invisible HOH.
After they got rid of all the people the would be good in comps jag had an easy win.
@@erinmineo830 at that point it wasn't even about strategy anymore. Hisam was evicted, then jared, then cameron, then cory bc he could theoretically beat them in mental comps, then blue bc she won (one) veto, then america bc she did better than cirie and felicia, then cirie bc she did better until finally felicia was evicted. :(
It’s just wild to me that this season would have had a different ending if just one week (week 2 or 3) had been different
I wish we got to see Cirie play this BB season without Jared. A big part of why Cirie chose to play in BB25 was because she wanted to play a game like this with a family member, but the ironic part is that Cirie would have likely been better without Jared in the season. She has to cover for him and his reckless gameplay along with making decisions that were worse off for her and cutting potential allies since she didn't want to betray him. She could have had better connections with other cast members like Felicia, Red, Cory, and America if not for Jared causing strife with them in favor of a superficial relationship with Blue.
100% agree on the unfairness of the Cirie twist. I think fellow Cirie fans are hesitant to call the twist unfair because they see how horribly Jared affected her game at times, but it doesn’t negate the fact that having a family member play the game with you, someone going into the house who is guaranteed to be loyal to you (even if they impact your game poorly at times) is absolutely an advantage in multipleeeee different ways. (not to mention her not having to play in the first competitions) but, like you said, BB has never been “fair” so this is nothing new
Not including Jared negatively affecting Cirie's game, as you mentioned, the twist wasn't that unfair. Cirie was the only vet from a previous show in a house with 16 rookies. The numbers were against her but we dont mention it because we're used to BB vets being outnumbered. Production needed to help her out somehow or else she could've been eliminated early
Cirie also had trust in Izzy as a benefit of the twist. And she didn't really question anything Izzy or Jared told her, so if they said something negative or false, a player couldn't talk their way out of it.
@@spdprawcereal7181 In practice, that's not really how it works. Look at Boston Rob in Redemption Island. Being a four-time player was a massive advantage. Secretly having a family member in the game is a huge advantage. It just turned out that Jared is a terrible player. Also, there were a number of Cirie fans (Izzy being the most obvious example) in this cast, so her being a Survivor legend actually benefited her rather than working against her.
This season had so much potential. The live feeds at the beginning of this season were crazy with the amount of flip flopping, and I was absolutely entertained through the thrill of it all.
However, once Izzy left the chaos of that kind of died off. But the bad side of the season teared it’s head during zombie week, which a whole week of NOTHING happening was just completely asinine to me. Once F9 happened, Jag, Matt and Bowie just completely steamrolled due to horrid comp inequity (How were Cirie and Felicia supposed to beat an Olympian and a fit man in his 20s in comps that were mostly physical?)
After zombie week, the season just completely died off with the steamroll and there was no saving it at all. Letting Jag win HOH 2 weeks in a row was extremely puzzling, and made for horrid entertainment. Overall, great beginning, but an extremely disappointing endgame considering how stale it got. And the treatment and exclusion of Cirie and Felicia at the Final 5 was very uncomfortable and repulsive to watch.
I felt like there were some entertainment with Felicia. Her argument with cirie and Cory and America was gold but after that bowie pissed me off.
really anyone in that final 3 shouldn't have made it that far. the way they treated felicia and cerie then just felicia was beyond fucked up. matt threw when answering the jurys questions. corey even said they were going to vote for matt but his answers made them not.
They made it that far because of comps. That's how modern big brother works.
@@discoelysia it’s not that hard to beat 2 senior citizens tho. It would honestly be a bit embarrassing if they lost. I don’t mean that as an insult to Felicia or Cerie they’re two of my favorites from this season
@@Beasty2023 oh I fully agree and Felicia and Cirie would too haha. I’m not in favor of comps being so important to modern bb, it takes so much momentum out of the season.
Cory said that it was Matt's terrible goodbye messages where he didn't take credit for anything. They made their decision before jury questioning.
The only reason bb24 had the chance to be great was because the “good guys” were athletic and the unbearable 40+ people were losers. This season is an example of the exact opposite. The likable old people never had a chance at all in the competitions. Taylor winning was so refreshing to have someone win without being a comp-beast but this season was never going to end like that. It seems like producers didn’t want another non comp beast winner and that Taylor’s win was a fluke. It was so dejecting watching the most likable old people be kept to the end to easily be picked off. It just wasn’t fun for me.
At the beginning of the season, I understand showing the clips of people telling their reasons for wanting to win competitions or not win competitions because there's less time to explain in an episode what's going on with everyone. But it kills me the closer they get to the end when every single person tells you why they want to win the competition. Like. That's the point. To win. It just eats up time and I always wanna skip through it.
What’s really frustrating about bb25 is the potential to be really good was right there. There was SO much personality in the cast and everyone more or less seemed like they were there to play HARD. But the twists and lack of comp equity is what really drags it down. By f5, I was just ready for it to be over
The multiverse theme had so much potential but was absolutely wasted, production fumbled the bag by restricting themselves to 4 universes only
Also just the absolute worst ideas for the 4 universes. Was The Humiliverse a necessary addition to the BB lexicon?
No, production started fumbling around season 11. I still watch every season but it is just a garbage show now.
I’m just tired of every vote being unanimous. I’ve heard it’s because they don’t want to go against the house, but why can survivor players do that but BB players don’t?
I love how this became a rant on the production cause it was a good season ruined by the repetitive and predictable comps and crazy op twists. This was my very first season I’ve ever watched fully but based on you and ethanmals top 5 videos, I see comps repeat themselves ALOT it’s kinda crazy. Like I think Izzy sells practice kits for bb it’s so predictable.
@21:00 "Did we need Jared at all?" I hope we all collectively yelled no.
"Since Season 10" probably means "Since Grodner was able to finish replacing any resistance to building the production and design atmosphere she wanted."
If Riley's and Hisem's HOH-to-evictee back to back journeys had taken place in the middle of the season and not in the 2nd and 3rd week respectively....this probably would have been one of the top seasons. They were two strong players with big personalities and the backdooring of Hisem was probably one of the most satisfying and successful back doors in BB history....again it was just too early.
MeMe had the potential to be a MUCH bigger player in the game she was smart and witty and it's a crime that production didn't include any of her pantry-rants in the episodes because those were the best moments on the feeds. But she decided to lay low and just vent to herself and the viewers instead of making waves and moves.
I wanted to like this season more, but all the "non evictions" were just...so transparent about what the producers were doing. Wish it would have been a little more organic.
I really want the vote count to not be revealed. I think people would go against the grain waaay more often
@@SuperF1n3 I don't think not revealing the count would have that great of an affect, maybe more sympathy votes but otherwise nothing
I’m not bitter. I’m fine with Jag winning. But I do think Matt played a better game. Matt would’ve made it to final 4 with or without Jag. Jag wouldn’t have made it to jury without Matt
Facts. I think it's positive either way, but with Matt, for me, it would've been a lot more positive.
Jag deserved the win because he ran the table once Cory left. Just steamrolled. Matt HAD to keep Cirie over Felicia. It would have helped his speech to say he made sure he had multiple paths but instead gave jag a great example of how he WAS the leader. In NO way shoukd matt let Cirie go out there
He was easier to like but Jag beat him. Dude let jag take out Cirie when she was always taking Matt and jag was willing to keep her if he argued it better
@@aaronsmith4806 Yeah honestly, the fact that he put up Cirie to appease Jag basically killed the idea that the two were "equal" partners. And allegedly according to Cory, in both Matt's goodbye messages to America and Blue he pinned all of his betrayals on Jag so that is what led to the jury being convinced that he was Jag's minion. The fact that he in a last ditch effort to save face tried to 180 during the Jury Questions was the death knell.
Excellent review! Yeah you really summed up the highs and lows of this season for me. That new comp stat is alarming. For how mixed the season was, I have to put it mid tier, but it was a sharp decline. Love the America’s Vote edit at the end hahaha.
I honestly wish there was a season with just crapshoot comps. Felica’s HOH week was so messy and the HOH competition that week was a crapshoot. It would be constant power shifts and be so fun
Great review, Peridiam. I agree that Kirsten should have been allowed to stay and that Jared should have been held to the same standard as Luke. Very insightful, pointing out that the show stagnated around “zombie week”. I too was rooting for Cory and America, so I was dismayed when the game lost traction the week of their downfall.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the 7 player jury compared to 9 player jury as well as the implementation of the multiple POVs in 1 week. Thanks for doing these videos!
Love the jury being only 7 - I think it’s the way to go. 9 is too many and groupthink really forms the larger the group is (there’s data to back this up). 7 is the perfect number.
I don’t need multiple vetos but if they were to happen, only do it for the first half of the season, or even just the first few weeks when there’s more people.
this was my first time watching a season of bb. i loved the chaos of the first half, but then everything became so boring and predictable because nobody besides cirie wanted to change the status quo
This paints a false narrative-- America and Cory wanted to evict Jag every week after F9 and so did Felicia and Cirie, even Blue somtimes, but the comp equity was so terrible the only people who won comps were Jag, Matt and Bowie in the endgame (barring Blue's one veto win). Jag was immune from eviction from final 9 with his alliance to Cameron, there was literally no way to move the game forward.
Please go back and watch a truly solid season! Highly recommend S3, S6, S7, S10, S14, S20, and S24 as some personal highlights!
I'd like to add S17 to the list BrianLikesBeans created as well as it holds one of the most complex social games in the show's history
The invisible hoh twist was so dumb why was Jag able to complete in 2 hohs back to back and he won 🥱🤦🏾
The aftermath of pressure cooker was by far the most frustrating thing the producers did on the show in many years. Hyped up that comp all summer and then it was essentially the least meaningful comp of season despite being a long endurance comp. Those are supposed to be historic and clutch comps where legends are made
I'm a.survivor fan and have always liked Cirie - but the deck was so stacked in her favor at the beginning I found myself rooting for anyone but Cirie and her goons
Wym stacked in her favor. She was one vet vs 16 rookies. She was outnumbered
Yeah just one vet, her son, Izzy one of her biggest fans, Cory who also loved her from survivor which his brother also competed in as well as Cirie dodging the night one nominations
@@XanderMatthews-nv9zf damn didn't know Jared, Izzy, and Cory were all vets😱
One vet, her son who is somebody she can trust implicitly who is basically a No. 1 that will never flip, and 2 of her biggest fans that decided not to oust Jared and Cirie’s secret because they simply LOVED her that much
You act like if they’re not a veteran then there’s no advantage but she was never alone and had several people cast to push her game forward
Loved watching Cirie in real time!
We need another season with Hisam, Izzy, and Cory on again. Make it a season with 3 hard players and super fans from 5 different seasons and see what happens.
Just Izzy and hisam bc Cory ruined the season he’s an annoying player
i will say something about the comps, for me the simpler the better. Stuff like the wall and pressure cooker are my favs. more stuff like that would be fine with me.
I love you and your videos; but I just can't handle any more BB25 right now. I will come back next week to actually watch this as I still need a break from it. (I am sure this video is amazing as all your vids are Peridiam, you're commentary is always so spot on).
Definitely agree with most of what you said. I also had it in the top 10 for the first half and by the end I have put it at 21st. It might get a bump a bit higher when I re-evaluate with more time away from it, let some of the bitterness from the slog of the last few weeks disapte lol. It was such a hard season to consider as a whole though, because overall I think it was a great cast, and it was one of the most entertaining seasons for those first 40ish days. Even if there wasn't *great* gameplay from everyone, everyone *was* playing and that was great to see.
I totally think production ruined this season, from their atrocious twists that killed momentum like zombie week to their predictable, inequitable comps. One of the main things I was really feeling this season was like production just doesn't even care anymore. With the lazy reusing of stuff and the edit composed of such a heavy comp focus - taking fantastic content from the early weeks that should have been slam-dunk episodes and ignoring it all in favor of the most bare-bones, boring edits - it just felt like everyone was phoning it in this season instead of putting the passion and care behind creating a fantastic season of Big Brother. And that was really sad to see, especially since this season started with such potential. They also hyped it up so much as their big 25th season and for what really?
I'm always going to have fond memories of it; Cirie was a treat and there were a ton of little moments that made me laugh or are in my top sound bites of all time, but looking at what we got as a whole... no matter how much potential there was, it's always gonna fall in the bottom half for me. I have a bad feeling it's not gonna be a good re-watch either since most of that fun and potential was from the first half of feeds. A sad but unfortunate truth I think, I mourn for what we could have gotten out of season 25.
Thank you for taking the time to lay out your thoughts, it was a fantastic and level evaluation of the season! I know you typically stick to shorter vids, but I definitely wouldn't mind more long/thurough content like this from you.
I think had BB25 been 2 to 3 Weems shorter we wouldn't have that power or the zombie week. It really goes less is more. Big Brother sweet spot is 75 to 82 days. I think less is more and u move the game faster. The cast seemed ready for it to end the last 2 weeks. BB25 did enough to be a mid teir season. I hope this is the last long season
Thank You so much for this recap!!! The ONLY complaint I have thus season is that they didn't show enough on the feeds! We got robbed of some amazing events. The feeds have it all this year!❤
This was my first BB season, and the rollercoaster of of interest, some weeks I was peaking in at the live feeds and checking twitter and recaps and others I was just like "eh I'll just watch all the episodes before the live eviction on Thursday." I loved Cirie (she and Matt were my top two as the had some of the best social games in the house, and if it as purely social they probably would have been the top two), she to me was a highlight of the season and her "I'd congratulate Jag if he wasn't going up against two senior citizens, an air head, and an idiot" lives in my head rent free, and 1,000% agree Jared should either not have been there, or should have been removed after the ableist slur came out, because she was so tied down by him. I am hoping that the producers take a look at the very least the way the season played out and the fact that America(?) called out production for having too many physical comps and decide to change things up, I know it was a 25th anniversary and all, but when you have the same 4 people winning a majority of the comps it's time to maybe have a bit of introspection.
I personally think Felicia was by far the most entertaining person to watch. While Blue and Jared were the hardest to stomach.
I think I’m the only person in the world who found blue’s confessionals funny.
@spilledsalt4862 she's funny in a cringy way because she was putting on a character the whole time.
I could not stand either Jared or Blue. So glad to see them go. So cringe. Ick
im not a person who watches feeds constantly, ill turn them on when i remember to and i have to say witnessing the jared corey fight live from the start was so amazing to be apart of as a bb fan
Not sure if you edit your own videos but if you do - I appreciated some of the editing tricks during the repeating competition rant because it really made it clear how some comps are just so identical
Some ideas:
Have the HOH or POV winner draw to see which Veto they won. Have the majority for the season be Golden, but have some silver & diamond in there.
If a player wins something in secret, they need to keep it secret.
I was hoping, with the laser, we would see comps from different eras - food comps, to earn the groceries for the week, win a car by all HGs starting inside it, etc. I would still love to see an Eras season. Outgoing HOH spins wheel to see which era the next week will be.
Have BB Legends live in the house for a week or so, particularly ones that will stir the pot. Prior to moving in, they can stay in hotel, doing their normal lives (but no BB spoilers, other than episodes or summaries that involve all HGs).
Have a week or two of an immediate eviction (a la BBCAN). HOH goes immediately upstairs, nominates 2 people & then, a vote. Helluva way to mix up a Double Eviction week.
So many simple ways BBUS can spice/mix things up.
I loved the multiverse twist thing, it was fun to see each of the different themes, and the weeks based off of each theme, but I agree the season just staled out. The producers desperately need a shake up with the comps, they need to be more challenging and less same samey. Casting also needs a shakeup, no more recruits, no more people that are already so rich they don’t care enough about the money, I want super fans that are desperate to win and will do whatever it takes to do it, that also have big personalities and aren’t afraid to fight and go against the grain
“Oh and Cirie, get yo child” 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m hollering 🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
What I found the funniest this year with CBS is that this Big Brother season was very lack luster, but Survivor is doing amazing! Either way, I love both of these shows and will always watch.
I still can't get over that bowi Jane got the record of not being on the block
I have a lot of respect to the people who aren’t bitter at this season, because I really am with jag and cam being my least favorite winners and AFP respectively. Having to see certain people get boosted by the edit while the real happenings of the game on the feeds for 100 days really sullied my view on the projection of this game…. Unfortunately it might be my last season watching
I love Cirie, but the part about her and Jared being unfair is perfect. I often get frustrated by Taran, but rarely more than when he basically said he didn't care about this. He claims to be the unbiased and pure voice of BB every season and people need to stop listening to it.
They need to add secret advantages to the game to allow play-makers to actually stand a chance to making it further into the season. I’m tired of seeing so many floaters in every season
Honestly, Izzy and Hisam being evicted early was a huge halt. Zombie week sucked because if they wanted to drag the season along then they shouldn’t have had a double eviction and then made it meaningless. They could’ve had a battle back during Izzy’s eviction 😂.
I'd love to see BB production put more effort into designing how comp sets function rather than elaborate background design, because they are very unfair. Survivor does this really well.
For example, with the wall: instead of having 2-3 handles that are at bad heights for many people, just assign players positions on the wall and put the handles at the same spot relative to their height. Similar to how Survivor has long had competitions where you hold a weight that is based pn a % of each person's body weight.
We need more mental comps that are purely mental (no running around to get pieces or look for clues). Besides the "heres a video/ image" quizes they have done, they need to bring back more quiz comps about random things like about random items in the house or even the stay or fold game.
Also, more crapshoot competitions! I LOVE the chaos a crapshoot can bring.
I am very glad the last 2 seasons have stopped having extra "twist" competitions, but i do miss the have/have no & luxary competitions. Especially the format from the early seasons where sometimes it was individual, sometimes team, and sometimes as a house. I hate how while there are still have nots each season we hardly ever hear in episodes who they even are. If theyre jusy going to be randomly picked there should be a formal ceremony for it because why have them if its not even mentioned?
Also, I'm tired of having so many individual timed competitions. They aren't good for viewing/TV. The editors just repeat the same thing over and over for each person and its SO boring. Just have the comp be all at once because if i have to listen to MULTIPLE people repeat the difference between two images again i feel like i may gi insane.
Overall, the best comps to watch are the ones where the audience can play along because its more engaging. So quizzes, guessing the number of items, and strategy comps are more interesting for TV.
Yup. The first half was great. Once the zombie thing happened i tuned out and it never really pulled me back in. Every time i checked out a few feed updates the sentiment was always the same - nothing good is happening. And it stayed that way until the mediocre ending.
Your review is so on point
I genuinely believe that with a couple of adjustments this could have been the most interesting season of big brother in years. I just need to get the footage I need and I should be able to post theses changes I would make.
I thought it was going to be one of the best seasons ever. Then zombie week happened and killed the momentum dead. It was like season 20 only worse. Between that, the length of the season and the comps allowing for comp beasts to do boring things forever i was done after cory was gone.
Something i have been complaining about for the last few seasons is this "groupthink" that the houseguests get into where nobody wants to oppose those in power and it always leads to unanimous votes. I miss it when you had two opposing alliances voting for separate people to try to undermine one-another and the votes came much closer.
I like seeing the classic comps but wish they’d do more comps of temptations
My boooyyy! I'm so happy he won! I hope to meet him some day, as I live in the town south of Omak! ❤
What i love about this season is the amount of iconic houseguests it gave us. I’m glad I got to watch people like america, felicia, izzy & hisam.
i love big brother, it’s a great show and has a great concept.. however.. they have such potential to be great again.. they need a cast full of 16 superfans. I hate seeing people put on a face and are there for the cameras.
Imagine if Zombie week was instead all evicted house guests or jury members return into the house for a week and could vote to evict a non zombie house guest, then leave the game at the end of the week. That would of been entertaining as all hell!
I stopped caring about Big Brother 25 and that’s something I don’t want to happen.
Honestly I feel Jag is going to get the Chris Underwood Edge of Extinction treatment of his win. Sure Jag won but the gigantic asterisk is going to be there where he won by a twist
Peridiam you did a great recap and all soo true. My disappointment came at the last three, their treatment of others was a bit nasty.
I think BB26 should be a more personal look at the show with the theme of ummmmm SINK OR SWIM 😩😩 like BB can bring back a temptation but add a blessing and curse vibe to it. Like “Win a second POV at the cost of no eviction vote by said winner”. Or the winner of the POV can upgrade to Diamond at the cost of not playing the HOH since you put your own nominee on the block. There’s also the idea of “Second place wins Co-HOH at the cost of being a nominee for the next two weeks” or become immune to nominations for one week at the cost being a Havenot for a while 😂 like there’s a lot
A season with so much promise at the beginning turned into complete shit it ended up as a bottom five season with a bottom five winner
your critiques are absolutely bang on. well said. this season was top 5 before jag got evicted/not evicted, and sits at bottom now after how it played out. 19, 22, 16, 21, and 25 are the bottom of the barrel
It would be fun if you did a video about The devil’s plan, I would love to hear your thoughts about it
Really quality vid as always :)
How to fix bb: we need a moose lol. More crap shoot comps. Honestly, they didnt even need all the twists, just only do one double eviction and dont speed up the last week. Season would have been the same as the normal one was because we had 17 houseguests. Worst thing for me is the comps and as a disabled person, I loved that they had a deaf houseguest. But jared not being ejected for the slur and the hearing necessary comp sucked to see. I didnt watch the final episodes of the season for a couple weeks, just the jury segments and kept up with it via rhap and twitter. Also, they need to cast more fans. Like for real, 2 super fans? Thats it. No excuse. Even if they are thinking oh we need pretty people who will get into a showamnce. They had that this season, I mean America is gorgeous and shes a super fan. Loved the first half. Some fun characters and love America and Cory. Had fun with life feeds and podcasts. I was entertained. Not bottom bottom season for me. But definitely towards it.
I am late watching this season of Big Brother I only recently got back into it. And I tried to find the live feeds for like restreaming of them and couldn't find it anywhere does anybody know if there's any access to any of the live feeds from previous seasons?
I’d love to see the night one auto nominations return, albeit preferably with only like the last 2 to finish a comp getting nominated
It allowed the cast to not game around one player and avoided a BB22 repeat
While I do think that competitions needs to be more equitable, people are wrong about endgame comps being physical. Cory mentioned it for a moment in his deep dive with Taran that he was actually correct about endgame comps being mental, and Cory was right.
Endgame starts at Final 6, imo. So let's look at the comps from that point onward.
Physical:
-Final 5 POV (going through water and stacking)
-Final 6 POV (DE Veto running and dropping balls into a tube
-Final HOH Part 1 (endurance hanging on ropes)
Mental:
-Final 5 HOH (rolling balls at targets)
-Final 6 HOH (booth quiz about movie posters)
-Final HOH Part 3 (booth quiz about jurors)
-Final 4 HOH (booth quiz about comic pages)
-Final HOH Part 2 (Memory about competition names)
-Final 4 POV (memory about days)
The endgame competitions were majority mental. And if you really want to go out on a limb and say that F4 POV & Final HOH Part 2 were hybrid comps, then fine. I don't personally believe they were nearly physical enough to truly tip the scales in anyone's favor. But sure, there was some minimal quickness involved. But, I mean, if even THAT is too inequitable for you, then the only way it's always equitable is if they're completely stationary for every competition. Which, I'm cool with personally, but let's be realistic. AND EVEN THEN, if you take away those 2 endgame comps because you think there's too much of a physical element and you place them into a hybrid camp, the endgame was still majority mental comps. The real problem with BB25's endgame is that people outside the Mafia choked hard in competitions. It's unfortunate, but it's true. The endgame competitions were not dominated by physicality. At least not in this specific season.
Actually, I think that the season was originally supposed to have been a more story based season, and the twists would’ve been to introduce a multiverse version of a previous houseguest. But they had to change everything at the last minute due to the strikes pushing the show back.
Great review. Bring back more crapshoot comps I say! 👏
More fun mental comps less reliance on physical, try a season where the cast skews older, trust the format and realize the best season of the show had the least amount of twists, if you’re gonna have twists make them fast paced ones not ones that just stagnate the game, stop live jury questioning and go back to doing it pretaped, just one of these and I’m happy man
TY for the unreliables shout out
Yup- if I wanted to watch the Challenge I’d watch that. Exactly what I said!!! It’s almost like they’re trying to be on that level and failing at it while simultaneously being boring.
Another reason the comp times are hidden now is because Jared is not functionally literate. He, for most intents and purposes, cannot read. It became very apparent in two challenges and caused him to time out. The producers don't want to embarrass him (and anger Cirie), adding reasons to hide the times.
I was really confused and frustrated about the hearing comp. I want to know what Matt thinks about it
22:25 This kinda reminds me of when, on BB9, they didn’t let someone have sugar as a have-not despite them being hypoglycemic. So of course they passed out 😭.
This season could have been up there with the best. To be fair, I was rooting against Cirie, Jared, and Izzy because they had so much power for so long, but realizing that Izzy and Jared going caused the season to fall into a pit of boredom, I guess hindsight is 20/20. The twists were also among the worst or most boring ones in the series (except the Demi-Gorgon, that one was actually pretty hilarious), the lack of dissenting eviction votes took away from the suspense, and the steam roll of the second half just made this season a snooze fest. I will still commend Cory and especially America for leading the charge to take out Izzy, because despite the outcome of that on the rest of the season, it was still a fun and exciting move that shook the dynamics of the game.
Overall, I think that Season 25 just let out all of the excitement in the first half, only to slow to a crawl with the Zombie twist and then turn into a repeat of what plagued the jury phase of Season 16. A ranking of #18 out of 24 (either bottom of mid tier or top of low tier) is deserving.
pls make a video about the devil plan, it was incredible!
Peridiam being a fan of America oh he has taste
We need that last 30 seconds as a short 😂
A great cast with a bad production decisions WHY they let jag win HoH again ?
Also why matt just TROW away her money and her goodbye mensagens to the jury think jag is the pupet Master ?
Also its sad see Cirie lose and i hope i never see bowie Jane again in my front ,victoria is more useful than her .
Also meme just dont make nothing besides she had to make moves and she is also in a good spot in the game is a mess .
Ngl your spelling made it hard for me to read this, but I kinda understood what you was saying.
No sad for Cirie at all. She squandered a massive advantage. Hisam being voted out was so dumb and then the Red vote out. She had Jag right where she wanted him. She made some very horrible moves thar no twist did to her
@@George-jr7vv It's because the advantage was really for Jared. She had to play two games while he threw it all away
this was my first BB season and im hooked now ! i loved cerie and felicia esp cuz im a survivor fan! i also loved blue she was so fun . tbh i was not into jag he was kinda a jerk lol but i have to admit he played the best game but i got so tired of him winning every comp. anyways this made me go watch season 20 which was omg iconic!
Maybe its time to do a themed season Women vs Men and have tribes like in Survivor, so women compete with each other and there are two houses. Maybe like a Barbie House vs House Ken. The twists would be to mess with the different power players like the Jock and the Stacy and the nerds can use the twists to best advantage. Eventually there is a merge and the challenges become skill based with men probably winning 66% of them anyway
Maybe there could be political voting instead of deciding HoH by challenge. Like instead of being a challenge first week, you start the game with a game they all play. After its over the actual decider of the HoH is by vote. And occasionally there will be these political votes to decide things. BB Fans love the social strategy far more than the games so this might work really well.
This was the first season of BB I've kept up with since OG All-Stars but I've seen every season of Survivor. This season felt a lot like a mix of Palau/Panama to me.
I was eating up the first half... Only kept watching in the second half cause I'm in 2nd year of Peace Corps Service, and it was something to watch, haha
Saw this and I have been in the middle of the devils plan! would be curious to hear your thoughts on it!
The season was way too long and would have been a much better season if it was shorter. The season had lots of potential a diverse mostly likeable cast (at the beginning), a fun twist, and a smaller jury combined with some good drama and fights should have been much better than it was. Zombie week killed the momentum combined with being too long turned it into a mid level season.
I felt this season had more to do with the first 2-3 weeks events than ever…I’ve watched since the beginning and I felt this was lacklustre and heavily produced. Jag eviction and being winner is kinda ridiculous
Honestly I hate the longer seasons day wise, I don’t care about the 100 days, if it was like 60-75 it would allow the game to maintain some decent momentum, the endgame was so slow and predictable but given the last 4 seasons I’d say that’s always how it is
We had 2 weeks with no eviction at all
Amazing. Get ‘em peridiam. I hope if enough of the big name commentators like you and taran keep bringing it up, production will FINALLY change it up, bc the show is SO good when it’s good
Of the 5 "New" comps how many of those were from other BB series such as Australia?
Noooo not the Cameron and red brokeback mountain reference😂
The comps that should always stay is one shot crapshoot only in the first 4 weeks, button endurance, tiny veto comp, the wall, slip n slide comp, otev, bb comics, swinging into wall, and trivia
Izzy was problematic in much the same way as Felicia and Matt with her hatred of America and calling her claims about Cameron "gossip"
omg ur so real ive watched every single season of big brother and i am SO tired of how the comps in general, are all copies of each other, this is a BIG tv production and we couldn't get any new comps ???????
also also. love jag, but that extra money comp he got after we won, he definitely threw it. There is NOOOOO way he knew he was getting more money hanging and "fell off" after he already won the comp after like a minute ??
They need to do secret missions that arent game involved those are some fun segments on BBcan
It should be worth noting that of the 4 votes cast against the majority, half of them were Cirie being unable to bring herself to vote out her kids.
She said her biggest fault game wise is her loyalty to the people she truly cares about. Matt, Izzy, and of course Jared were the main three.
@@AGJ117 but even then Cirie had a lot of good game moves but her alliance just wouldn’t listen to her she told them Cameron needed to go before Riley they didn’t listen she told them Hisam needed to stay as their shield they didn’t listen I feel like they would’ve made it further had they listened to her in the early games
I agree with a lot of this but strongly disagree with your Jared take. Jared was there to give Cirie a handicap. Otherwise she’d steamroll the entire game. Jared makes it an even playing field for the rest.
