The game for a long time was always played in Jackson and it was called the Capital City Classic. Alcorn decided not to renew the CCC contract in 2012 and the game has been known as the Soul Bowl every since
Wrong the game was originally played at Alcorn wayyyyyy back in the day thus calling it the soul bowl because it was between 2 black schools. That capital city classic stuff came in the 90's

I thought if it was in Jackson it was CCC and if it was in Lorman, it was the Soul Bowl
It was originally called the soul bowl back in the 70's when it was held on the respective team's home field...it was rebranded in the 90's as the CCC... Alcorn declined to renew the contract in 2012, so it went back to the original format...i.e. "The Soul Bowl"

Alcorn did not win Round 2. And they seem to get out of control on Freak. I'm going a tie on Round 3. 2-0-1 so far. And some of that the GGs are doing is stuff they copied from the J-settes. You might be getting a little swayed by the numbers difference. In a Beyonce video, all they would do is pop. I stay JSU 3-0-1 in the end. It was a decent battle, but I really need to see SWAC schools start bringing back funky, groovy songs
