I don’t think I’ve ever seen Deep Impact but your reviews confirm what I remember from that time: Deep Impact was the “better” movie but Armageddon was the one that was remembered.

Yep Deep Impact has a lot less "editing" so to say, but it's that Bay aesthetic that really makes Armageddon stand out more. Well that and it had cash to spare.

Critics thought it was terrible, but I saw it as well-done junk, well that and nostalgia.
