- Possibly the most spontaneous drum cover I ever did. Due to an issue with a blocked video yesterday, I had less than one hour to learn and record this song. Had a lot of fun though, what a great song this is!!

By a long shot he's not the best drummer I grew up with people that have so many changeups she can't even fathom, as a cover artist out there she is the best. I grew up with Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd Supertramp AC DC the list goes on and on. She will never compare to that ever. I'm sorry you mistaking me for her being the best drummer that will never happen in our lifetime or hers!!!

THE SONG - "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" is from the Australian rock band Jet. It was co-written by vocalist, rhythm guitarist Nic Cester and lead guitarist vocalist Cameron Muncey. It was recorded in 2003 at Sunset Studios in Los Angeles and appeared on Jet's album 'Get Born'. As a single, it was released on Aug 25, 2003 in Australia and the UK and on May 24, 2004 in the US.
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" peaked at #29 on Apr 24, 2004 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is considered to be Jet's first top 40 hit and highest charting single. It performed better on other charts reaching #16 on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40 charts on Apr 17, and Jun 12, 2004 respectively. On Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart, it reached #7 on Mar 13, 2004.
Internationally, it did quite well landing in the top 20 on many charts. It won APRA's "Most Performed Australian Work Overseas" three years in a row from 2005 and garnered Best Rock Video at MTV's 2004 Video Music Awards.
The song was criticized by some who felt the main riff was too close to Iggy Pop's "Lust For Life". The band responded that the song drew inspiration from 1960s Motown songs. According to drummer Chris Cester, Iggy Pop told him that he and David Bowie were also inspired by those same Motown hits and that would account for the similarity.
Brothers Nic and Chris Chester grew up in Dingley Village, a small suburb outside Melbourne, Australia. They discovered rock n' roll through their father's classic rock records. Jet was formed in 2001 when they teamed up with Cameron Muncey who was a schoolmate of Nic's. They recruited bassist Marc Wilson from another Melbourne group.
The band's name came from the 1973 song "Jet" by Paul McCartney and the Wings.
If you read Sina's video description, you know this caught everybody by surprise. The original intended release, which by all indications was OK for cover use, was blocked worldwide. So, plan B - that's B for Better - was put in place. I have a feeling that Sina's live playing has honed her abilities to cope with things like this and she certainly plays the drums here in a manner that I would associate with live playing.

I've watched most of your videos and I think this is the biggest smile I've ever seen you have when hitting those drums. Your face shows just how much you love what you do. This song suits your soul. BRAVO.
This cover by Miss Doering is a perfect visual explanation of who she is.....vivacious and exuberant, fast and accurate, smart and good looking but most of all fun loving and musical.....Damn, the World could use alot more of Sina and her Drums going forward.....What a great song to showcase all of her person.....

Jet is a guilty pleasure band for me. This is a great song, and, for the first time in all of these covers, you have far surpassed the original. Hats off, and take a bow.
Thursday comes and you get backed into a corner. You scratch around a bit and settle on JET. Learn it, record it and throw in some tambourine, BAM we have another classic Sina. You folks are the cream of the crop. Simply the best and a smile or two never hurts. Thanks.

I truly cannot comprehend how you can possibly learn this in 1 hour? How is that even possible? Do you listen to it a few times, and then literally memorize every drum beat? I don't know how you do it.
That's what sets apart musical (and indeed any) prodigy like Sina. Don't know her obviously, but I can guarantee she's genius level intelligent. People like that can just listen to something once & play along with it. Mozart was 4/5 when he started reciting & even writing music

What i like about Sina is that she is a versatile drummer, there are so many on her play list and helping to bring along other musicians along with her.

Ms. Sina has amazing ability to capture the essence of the drum line of a new song so very quickly and more importantly in a way that first serves the song, and second builds a foundation for your own interpretation without detracting from the vocals, melodies or solos when you make the drums your own! You seem to have a timeless soul in your percussion as you seem just as able to enjoy drumming to swing, jazz, prog, folk, country, or any of the myriad styles of classic rock & roll through the decades. Of all the covers I have seen her do, I think she lets loose the most on this one. She is able to go wide open, and it shows how truly good she is. Amazing, and I think she liked this one for sure. There was a smile in there a tie or two.
