Looking great! I’m also 5’10 and my first mare was a compact little 15.2 sports horse - I found that body weight positioning influenced her more than anything so long as I was careful with that we did great! You’ve done so well getting back into everything after surgery 😊

I think you two are gorgeous together and a nice balance is the feel I get when I watch-my mare 15.2 1/2 and I am 5' 7 "5/8" and I loved my TB mare Esprit-a red beauty with a gorgeous huge trot-yours has a gorgeous walk trot canter-so lovely to have a love in your life and lucky-a treasure for you!!!!

In the right situation, they can be very helpful. My horse's skull shouldn't be putting my teeth in danger. Am a big fan of Brody. He's the same stamp of horse as my behemoth.

Ember has come so far!! I would love to hear how you came to purchase him. While you could easily ride a much bigger horse, I don't believe he is too small for you. And he's going to get bigger as he develops (not taller but filled out). I love him, but I am a fan of a spicy redhead lol.

It does not look silly! He's a smaller horse but you ride him beautifully. I think Justine's consistency has been helpful. Honestly, I prefer smaller horses. I'm not as tall as you but I feel like they are handier. You look great!

You are doing a great job Lucy - Ember is really improving he is so calm and in a great frame in between jumps and many of the jumps he is jumping from his hind end!!! behind!!!! It must feel so good - I love him and you do look good on him he certainly appears bigger than 15.1 - his stride is so lovely

He's looking SO much better. Remembering the sequences, with all the problems he had at first (gorgeous and talented as he is.) LOTS of progress, lots of relaxation, lots of looking like you two are a real partnership. I think (maybe?) it took longer than you thought because of the time he spent actually racing, not just gaining age as a "too slow" racehorse. Because he's got the speed, and had used it, and had then soured on it, he was psychologically set up--as a fully adult horse with a past--to be resistant to demands. But he looks "happy" much of the time, the last two videos, not worried or anxious that something's going to spring out of the bushes and be a regular race-course on which he has to race.
Well done Lucy, Ember much more chilled, and a great outline. I think he only lifts his head the last couple of strides, in order to see the jump. Will be interesting to see the martingale on him. Course he’s not too small for you!

I'm 6'1" and ride a 15.3 holsteiner. We fit. Tall riders don't have to ride tall horses. Just think of Charisma and Mark Todd!
