When you say you build Rat Rods, it’s a whole complete class of building. You’ve touched every nut, bolt, and piece on that Rat Rod not to mention as built engineering and building the front suspension, rear suspension, steering, drive train, radiator and numerous other things that I forgot. Good job, Bob. Guess that’s why you are the Dean of Ratrodology. Thanks for the complimentary class😮
Wow Bob's mechanical skills are next level! God Bless ya Bob. 😉✌
Once again, Bob, thanks for the master class...transmissions 101
Even as someone who has built a few transmissions it's still enjoyable watching you do it Bawb. Nice work. Car is about ready to roll down the road soon!
Nice work Bob! One big puzzle and you got it solved. Keep up the great work👍🏻
Bob, you are an encyclopedia of information!! If I could subscribe 100 times, I would!
Another excellent tutorial from the Professor. Even though this is an older trans, the engineering of it still amazes me.
You're a good teacher Bob.
This is the best automatic transmission video I've ever watched. I appreciate you showing the hard parts but I especially like that you show us how each part works. Also, thanks for the tip on Assembly Goo. Cheers!
I’ve rebuilt a lot of engines and stuff on cars but I’ve never done transmissions. But after watching you I wished I would of tried it you make it look easy. Your getting Bob. 👍😎✌️
the average guy aint going 2 know all of that that rat rod bob knows, you'l never convince me that he aint worked in a transmission shop at one time or another in his life,, iv never herd him ever say what he did 4 a living years ago,, damn good job bob, my hats off 2 ya...
Professor Bob, taking a headcount and dropping knowledge. Thanks Bob
Bob you are so cool and full of knowledge great video
You are an amazing mechanic Bawb. I really enjoyed this video and think I could almost rebuild a C4 now, sadly, I am a stick shift guy. Glad I didn't miss it.
Impressive Bob!
Apparently you were a transmission mechanic before you started building RatRods!! Would love for you to do a video on rebuilding a Powerglide!
Great Video as usual!!👍👍
I always guessed he was a robotics engineer, hence our bitchy friend, Red.
+1 on the powerglide rebuild be good to see a no bull glide build
Do not be offended. I fell asleep on this video. Good news is I stayed to the end, liked it👍, and I’m commenting so you get paid. You tube is like the Army. You sign up and you make a commitment. You can’t quit just because a transmission video is way far out of your league. Love you RRB and love your work. Wish I was closer so I could sweep your shop. Stay warm. 🤠
Preciate ya! Ya never know ... one day you may do a C4 and you know where to find the video.
Iam glad its you and me working on that transmission.
Thanks Bob, this is a great video. We have some C4s that need to be built but it is magic how all that works. Thanks for making this video, I’m not so stressed about attempting it now.
Looking good, she gonna be a screamer
Thanks Bob ,one day I want to rebuild my own C4.
Amazing to watch, phenomenal knowledge great transmission tutorial. Thank you Bob
I love this! He reminds me of guy that was one of my drivetrain instructors 20 years ago.
That was best trans rebuild video I ever seen .no joke thanks Bob
Great video Bob. 😊 Your the MAN with a redneck plan.
Hi My Friend Very Very Great Job ❤❤❤❤❤
A great video with all the details included 😂😂

Test video will be up shortly!
Dang Bob u did good for your first time 😂
Rebuild my first C4 this week
Way easier then the 4L60E I did. Thanks for sharing!
Catching up 👍Great to see you get your shift together Bob !
Ha haa .... thanks 👍
I was lost? but enjoyed watching it 😢
Bob the Trans rebuilding videos are some of my favorite, the sound of the parts going in have a really cool sound the case is like an echo chamber, it’s music to my ears, might have to start calling you Mozart Bob,lol, awesome awesome 😀😀
Another great information video. Great job with this one. Look forward to seeing the next one. The SBF sure sounds great. Love it. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks for watching ... and the great comments!
I all ways find my self glued to the screen when you are building a motor or gearbox BoB . It's just so amazing how easy you make it look to do . Cheers mate. 😜😵💫👍🤠
You are very confident and knowlegeable. I bet you were once in the transmission business.
I always considered the inside of an automatic transmission to be witchcraft.
Thanks for this practical tutorial, Bob!
LOOKING GOOD.🤠👍👍👍
That was a cool show and tell. Thanks heaps Bob
Hi Sir ,
Thank you for this very informative video what a great teacher you are I have learnt so much
This was a graduate level lesson. Bawb, you're the man.
Thanks for sharing your video bob.
Another good one Bob👍👍
That was extremely informative!😎
im already subscribed dude my mouth is a waterin'
so slick to see
Never built a Ford tranny.Doubt I ever will. Had ta watch anyway. Ya never know what little nuggets of knowledge Bob may bestow upon us.
I stayed tuned because I didn't wanna miss it, I just didn't & it was Great!👍
Great video Bob!
Bob, You need to tell us how you learned all this stuff! I don’t think I better try it! Thanks for the video Bob, your getting it!
Beautiful job,,..❤
Great video Bob
Some YT golden. Thanks Bob. Enjoy these videos working on my first c4 rebuild too..its out of a 66 fairlane. Had a 64 pump in it as well.
Gold*
Hopefully this video is a little helpful.
Great video. Very interesting.
You got Skills Bob ! Great Video !
Incredible learned alot
Nice ,, thanks for sharing
great stuff thanksyou
wish you were my neighbor your so cool
Ive had good luck with 4 speeds and 1 4l60e but a 700r4 was a nightmare so I quit trying, nice job Bob
damn good video
This has to be one of the best C4 rebuild videos on the internet. You are a Legend Sir. Thank you !!
I have one question. Why is that filter cover cut open ? The one on the valve body ??
C4 or not to C4. Anutha Bob RatRodoligy Class complete. Dad can I work on your car? You make it look easy Bob.
Saw you had some friends down. Good of you And them folks.
Bob already showed us how to rebuild a Turbo 400 so Yall catch up.
Great job Bob where was REd i thought he would be around over seeing the project ha ha
Getter Duuuun
I had always done standard transmissions until necessity forced me to do this and from then on was game on
your like a damn wizard..lol I been watching for a long time and never do you disappoint..be safe and happy holidays
Like you used the 3 blocks to stand the trans on reminded of my Dad he had a 30 gallon drum he would put the trans down in it and it would catch around the bellhousing. Working on turbo 350's though.
😮very impressive stuff , out of my league 👏 😅but that's the first one ya done hope it works 😂.
Certainly not RB's first rodeo. Amazing@%$#!
I'm diggin it Bawwwb..... but there are way too many pieces in transmissions for me 😂
Good show shalom
Bob, that's a pretty good job done there and should last a good long while.....just one thing on the valve body with that mod. You need to remove that rubber disc from the valve body. Even if you don't modify the valve body remove it. It will get you going with a snappy shift if you do!!!!! And slow shift overlap if you don't!!!!!!!!!.......Nice video ..................
I'm about to dive head first into my 4R70W transmission thats in my mustang. I've never been past the filter or torque converter in a transmission but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing it.
Long gone are the days of $75 used transmissions at the local bone yard. Even the ones that are around are asking $500-$700. And i sure ain't about to take the chance of getting one and installing it only to learn that it's no good. . Im just gonna yank it out, throw it up on my bench and go for it.
And im terrified 😏 But i gotta go for it.
Shop manual is your friend. And have another friend take lots of pics on break down.
👍
C4-101
Great transmission build video, 🫵🏼💯🆒
I only ever done two. 700r4 and th400
All of the old school ones are pretty easy with a shop manual.
One thing not covered in this video is cleanliness. Hydraulic systems hate any sort of debris.
No offense meant Bob, just more info for the masses.
🤜💥🤛👍👍👏👏👏
Can't wait to see this complete
What good is it drilling the valve body separator plate and not drilling the gasket?
Gasket has larger holes in it already.
Question about my rebuilt transmission what could cause the shaft from not spinning freely.
BTW what you call a shim is actually called a thrust washer😊
Who Cares its a Rat Rod. LOL Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Do a two speed powerglide...
LESSON3
Really need more lighting so we can see what's going on my friend
what happened to the henry j rat rod
I am doing this transmission last night. I run into a problem with one of the snap rings. And I cannot find a set of Different size. Snap rings if anybody can find me a link to some.
my uncle was the trans man, people would wait to have their trans done by him, either racing or everyday driving, has a teen and young man i would go and learn from him. i now alil how the old stuff. not so much the new.. lol.
...I quit when you said to beat it into submission.
That's a term I use for "make it work".
Your valvebody mods are sort of close. You need to understand what you are modifying. Was going ok until you refitted the rubber puck. For any shift improvement. In conjunction with reversing the accumulator valve spring the rubbe4 puck shoul$ be left out to open that circuit up for improvement to 2nd gear apply.
Great tip! If I have to go back in there I will leave it out.
Great video. A little quick for me. Never worked on automatic.
There is so much shit in this that I would have to pictures as I took it a part
