- Fleetwood Mac - Gypsy from 1981 with lyrics
LYRICS:
So I'm back to the velvet underground
Back to the floor that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy...that i was...to the gypsy...that i was...
And it all comes down to you
Well you know that it does, well...
Lightning strikes...maybe once...maybe twice...
Oh....and it lights up the night....
And you see your gypsy.......
You see your gypsy....
To the gypsy......
That remains.....
She faces freedom......
With a little fear.....
I have no fear....
I have only love.....
And if i was a child....
And the child was enough.....
Enough for me to love....
Enough to love......
She is dancing away from you now
She was just a wish
She was just....a wish
And her memory is all that is left for you now
You see your gypsy.....
Oh, you see your gypsy.....
Ooooooh..oh.....lightning strikes...
Maybe once...maybe twice....
And it all comes down to you
Ooooooh......oh......and it all comes down to you....
Lightning strikes...
Maybe once....maybe twice....
And it all comes down to you...
Oh.............
I still see your, your bright eyes......bright eyes...
And it all comes down to you - Hudba
I have to make this statement... I'm black and grew up in the projects but my mother was a big FM fan. Music has no color

I was 7 when my father put his music cassette in his fiat 126, it was an incredibly hot summer day , we were parked under a small tree that we had planted together the year before, it was so small but to me it looked like a giant , he was so proud of it. We were waiting for my mum to get ready to go the beach and once this song came I was in awe, she sounded like an angel, we replayed it throughout the whole trip. This is the first musical remembrance that I have, I’ll never forget that moment ,thank you Pa.
Awesome story my friend!!
And thanks, from France, for these cherisched memories
What a beautiful and magical memory. I was imagining that while I was still listening after I had read that. Music playlists of our lives.
Love it!!
Priceless

Thank you for your gift of good music and songs to the world.
One of the most Beautiful Songs...and her Beautiful Voice 🌹
What's the deal after all this time? Christine is nolonger with us. But the legend still lives on in the memories to all. That, the gypsies were known to take other people's family members, even someones children the fable contends?
Don't why this song always makes feel happy and sad at the same time, one of the best songs of the 80s
This was when music was real music! Timeless and perfect.
Can't believe it took me 36 years to fall in love with Fleetwood Mac. My mom played this my entire childhood. I knew the words but now they mean so much more...

I’m a 28 year old Irish girl and I’ve been listening to Fleetwood MAC for years and I am now attending my first Fleetwood Mac concert in Dublin. Very excited.
I hope you love them ! My favorite band ! Stevie one of top 5 best WOMEN in the world !! I’ve seen fleetwood mac and Stevie solo probably at least 20 times through the 70-2017!
nice!!! not like back in the 70's, but Nice!!!
How did you find it? We are pretty similar because I am 16 and have been a fan of theirs for about 4 years now and recently went to their concert for the first time at Wembley. Best night of my life so far! x

My husbands favorite FM song and video. I played it for him on the day he died. Still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
I'm sorry for your loss but I hope it brings back the good memories
I'm sorry for your lost , hope you meet in paradise .

sorry for your loss, :-( its a beautiful song,

The guitar solo at the end of this song is my most cherished of all time. It’s not just the solo, but the build up to the solo that makes it such a beautiful burst of humming chords. A vocal remembrance of who she once was-led into a final, stirring guitar celebration of what’s now been found, and who we can ultimately become.
Amen brother 👍
I was just wondering if i was asked for the best female singer and song and bingo

What does your age or race have anything to do with the music itself?
@@Assassin026 most people look at me strange when they hear. me play this in my car that's why I ride by myself
@@calvingilmore2117 Man, why do you care? I, for one don't, because as I understand it you must be a pretty rad dude if you listen to Fleetwood Mac. Screw their funny looks, own it. Music unites as all regardless of age, race or sexuality.
Space cowboy...stop it please. All he was saying is it's not typical for such eclecticism to be recognized by most in the mind of black men. Most think we all listen to killa shit and drink forts while beating up white women. Wonder why that common thought persist and deny ask stupid questions for race baiting.
@@markd1592 Stop what? Did I said anything that might have hurt his feelings? Seems you are against stereotypization of race yet you call me out for being against it too? I'm confused. You try to make a martyr out of yourself (or the OP or the whole black community I'm not sure) when in reality no one gives a crap if you listen to Fleetwood Mac or Biggie on repeat. We're too egotistical of a species to pay attention to these kinds of things and if you do then I feel sorry for you that you decide to spend you precious time that way.
This is my number one depression remover I dance my heart out to this song and let it all out crying and all. By the end of it I feel allot better.

One of my fondest memories as a child happened when I heard this song on the radio. My mom, dad, and sister were all on our way back home from the beach and all of the sudden this song came on on the radio and we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life. To this day I still haven't seen a sunset near as beautiful as what we all saw that evening. It looked like the sky was on fire. So anyway I begged my dad to turn up the volume because at the time that was my favorite Fleetwood Mac song, and I sang out loud and my sister was laughing at me in the back seat and it was one of the only times I saw my parents genuinely in love and happy to be near each other. All in all it was a magical evening. So now when I hear this song It takes me back to that perfect day and makes me remember why I love sunsets so much and why it is I fell in love with Fleetwood Mac as a child. Fleetwood Mac will forever be my favorite rock band. Stevie Nick's is a goddess in human form. 💜
You just can't ignore such a masterpiece.Timeless.
I LOVE THIS SONG AND HOW IT TRIGGERS A DIFFERENT EMOTION AND STORY FOR EVERYONE. FLEETWOOD MAC YOU ARE LEGENDS.

No matter how long they've been around; or how many times the song is played - you just can't get enough of Stevie's voice. almost 40 years, still loving it
I don't think I've ever heard a better vocal than Stevie in this song.
+Zachary Kleinbart @1:16
who cares if you like it or don't. it will still have a special place in my heart. I can remember my grandfather playing this and singing it like there was nothing to worry about. I miss him so much. thank you for everything you taught me papa.
Lindsey's production work is outstanding here. Stevie gives one of her best performances and Lindsey floats those dreamlike background vocals while building an arrangement that really takes you on a ride.....tight rolling rhythm section, restrained piano playing, & tiny guitar flourishes here and there before exploding a beautiful solo at the end that is really magical.
This is a beautifully written and performed song by Stevie....and Lindsey took it and brought every bit of emotion out. And it never gets in the way of the vocal. Stevie is mostly immediately praised by people hearing this song (as she should be).......but it's also Lindsey's production work that gives you the feeling when you hear this. Masterful.
I could loop the last 45 seconds and listen for an hour straight and still not be tired of it. It’s gotta be one of the best musical arrangements of all time!
Agree 100% with Alex's words.
I could listen to this for hours on end
The joy and peace they bring to your heart..no other band can hit me..that way

This song played on my radio right after I left my court hearing for divorce finalization- after a long road of ups & downs, finding who I really am and meant for; and I don't think I've ever felt so free and weightless as I did in that moment. Omg! When I left the courthouse with my divorce, Dreams was on the radio. ❤️
@@jayecomer1770 look at us sharing a soul tie. I hope you’re doing great ♥️
My favorite song. I saw Fleetwood Mac in March of this year, and as she was introducing this song, Stevie said that it is about how you only get a few times in life to seize the opportunity of your life... I feel as though she has either changed her perception of the song over time in order to portray it in a positive light--or I'm obviously interpreting the song differently. For me, Gypsy talks about the times when you find yourself back with just yourself during a time of reflection, a low point in life where suddenly you are thrusted into a situation that causes you to see yourself for who you truly are--your faults, your dreams, your hopes, and how they've all disappeared. And the breakthrough moment lights up the night! It's so alarming, it's so real, and you're left knowing that it all comes down to you...
+Jim Junecko I totally agree about the interpretation of the song....you see yourself for what you are...but like thats really a good thing..coz we al have faults, but many people cant see that...so it aint positive but its real and her voice is sexy
wow that's an amazing interpretation of this song
I have always read it in the way that Stevie explained it -- that "lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice" -- meaning that when one gets older one can look back on life and see the one or two times that a life-changing opportunity arose or when one met a person that he or she should have spent most or all of a lifetime loving. I think it is a beautiful idea, and as I grow older, I believe it to be very true.
+Jim Junecko I've seen Fleetwood a few times live and the story is is that the song was about her terminating her pregnancy with Don Henley and reflecting on her decision and you're right, she may now see the song differently as she became older & wiser
The song about her terminated pregnancy was 'Sara.'
This song is cheesecake to my ears. I can never get enough

I used to have a job where I'd have to drive long distances on the highway - and oddly enough, this song would always play during sunset. Originally, I didn't like it so much, but mixed with the cascading mountains and fields, it brings back some great memories.
Fleetwood Mac always comes back to me in weird ways, and I really love them for that.

Imagine the Arizona desert bet it's beautiful. Other countries are beautiful too. But nothing compares to the GOOD USA. Take your entire lifetime just to see America. Why do people want to go over seas and to other countries. Not take the time to see their country GOOD USA. Beauty is in our own back yards. All around us. We need to look now and then.Wonder how long take to see all 50 states. Always wanted to see Hawaii. But probably never will.

Fleetwood Mac was my mothers favorite. We fortunately got to see them in 2010 together but she passes in March 2019 at age 65 and its been extremely hard without her. This is the last song i have to remember her by as it was playing (my sisters phone) as the doctors at hospice examined her to be pronounced deceased. The most surreal heartbreaking moment of my life as she was my best friend. This song is absolutely heartbreaking for me to listen to nowadays and i struggle immensely with her loss ....

My cat's name is Gypsy, and this is her favorite song to rock out to.
Your awesome
My cats love Aphex Twin
What a band... 2020 still loving these classics 💃
This song plays in my head any time I want to recall it. I listened to it on a loop for 8 years in undergrad and grad schools while I was writing papers... I can no longer escape Gypsy.
Dex Voisin I danced with both my babies to this song, as did my mom with me.

Jesus Delacruz oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. I just saw this. I always play this song before I go to sleep or take naps so I probably fell asleep on the keyboard.
It's not who but why?
Still listening 2017 sept 3ed!! Lightning stricks maybe once maybe twice and it struck 2012 in the form of a lymphoma cancer diagnosis. I had a tumor wrapped around my spine and it left me paralyzed from the waist down. With few choices I could either for the first time in my life realize I'm worth saving or go and drink and use drugs and not the kind my doctor prescribe until I died!! So I decided I was worth saving and after six months of chemotherapy one month of radiation therapy and 8 months in the wheelchair I slowly got out of the wheelchair and relearn how to walk again and beat the cancer thing. So today I'm a cancer survivor and I would like to tell you if you just got a cancer diagnosis and you are fighting the disease or if you lost your fight because of the disease I feel nothing but love for you. You will always light up my night with your Bright Eyes 💓💓
Andrew E that's great
