  • In this video, we explore the profound wisdom found in the Book of Proverbs regarding the wise use of the tongue. Through various scriptural examples and real-life illustrations, we uncover how our words have the power to uplift or destroy, encourage or wound, and bring harmony or discord.
We start with a practical scenario where a teenage boy accidentally breaks a glass, highlighting how different responses can either escalate or diffuse a situation. This sets the stage for understanding the importance of controlled and thoughtful speech as guided by Proverbs.
Key scriptures such as Proverbs 15:2, Proverbs 18:21, and James 3 provide valuable insights into the power and potential destructiveness of the tongue. By examining instances from the lives of biblical figures like Peter and drawing parallels to everyday situations, we learn the significance of exercising caution and wisdom in our speech.
We delve into James' teachings on the tongue's destructive potential and how mastering control over our words can lead to greater self-discipline and maturity. The video also offers practical advice on developing better listening skills, controlling our anger, and responding thoughtfully to maintain peace and effectively communicate our faith.
Through this study, we are reminded of the dual nature of our words, capable of both harm and healing, and are encouraged to fill our hearts with God's wisdom to use our tongues for His glory.

I wished I had heard this lesson yesterday. I let being pushed aside multiple times get the best of me, and I yelled out "Jesus" in a grocery store. I never do that, but I did yesterday. I still feel bad even after praying. Thank you for the lesson.
