It's composed of some of his most famous themes and cues as well as some more obscu re stuff selected from his scores from the 70's up until now.

I'm a sophomore and I've been playing horn for five years now. I recently let my tone quality get away from me. My band director told me to go find a professional and listen to them to improve my tone. While I was watching different videos, I came across this one and now every time I play I'm just going to try to match your tone because it's probably one of the best tones I've heard. I absolutely love this and it makes me so proud to be a horn player. Thank you for this, it's really inspired me to go out and make all-state again. You're an amazing horn player.
your neighbors r lucky the get to hear this
I play trumpet, but the French Horn is just so perfect if it can be played well, like this.
I've never heard such talent. I'm a 1st trumpet 2nd French horn and 1st euphonium and student conductor. Such beautiful tone quality
Justinqr Ramos lol nobody cares u could've followed that up with something
The Throne Room music is what I want to walk down the isle with at my wedding.
Me too!
Dude. Mad chops. My lips just can't. I almost gave you a standing ovation at work.
Thanks, very glad you enjoy it !
To answer your question, there is no trumpet in these medleys, they're 100% horn ;)
And I used a Holton H179 on this one.
There are several other Parts to this tribute which are only available as Audio ( this video here being Part 1 )
Part 3 includes some Schindler material !
You can download everything on my website.
Im the only french horn in the entire 7th grade band and there's like 10 trumpets...
Usually how it turns out. They could switch over some trumpets cause you don't need that many trumpets compared to horns. 10>1 trumpets is highly different should be changed. But, as I have ayes both instruments horns do need at least 2 players cause if you notice there's slots for notes. The slots are much much smaller than trumpets and often you might not know if you're getting the right note. Either, he/she trust you have a really good ear to hit any note on target or you need a extra horn.
Cheers anyway mate :)
P.S. It'll get better 7th year/grade is often the structure year for band. 8th you get to play fun music and easier to play cause you already know the mechanics. (That's if you did like my for my directors.)
I'm in 7th grade too but I luckily have a partner
:D
I have a partner now, he was a trumpet but now he has no idea what he is doing, HE IS MY GRASSHOPPER :D
C Jones when I was in 7th grade (11th grade now) my friend and I were the only two horns and we could over power our 12 trumpets
I know I'm 7 years too late, but this is absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
i love mozart, its nevrr too late to appreciate good music
This is seriously amazing. It's for pieces like John Williams' that I play the french horn.
i just mouthed the words "this is seriously amazing" and then i saw this comment 1 second later
You are French horn goals.. Love this.
Whoever says John Williams just churns stuff out by a formula needs to listen to this. There's such variety in all his music.
It's crazy how almost all movies with music composed by John Williams are some of the best.
My friend.....simply outstanding. Wonderful arrangement and performance. French horn players around the world should thank god everyday for John Williams. And ur the only other person besides myself that I've seen with a french horn and drum set in their room. Great job!
I must make up about 20 of these views...
Same here
+Jonathan Demmond I haven't been back here in three years. I remember I was listening to this once during class... and my earbuds stopped working z;/ I watched it over and over again back then. I just thought of it today, and I had to come back:)
Back again....two years later lol
@@user-uu2cj9ct3j I just found thisđ
@@TheStickyKey :) You made a good find
The french horn is by far the best instrument ever created.....its sound, the way it can be used to portray emotions is just amazing.
The sensitive high note at 6:00 killed me
I still come back to this video to watch it. Love it
It's not just the playing that is amazing, it is the arrangements also. A brilliant job of arranging these pieces for "one" instrument/voice. It is hard enough to create arrangements for a suite of voices, but to do it with one is unbelievable. As an arranger (with nothing admittedly better than hack status) I can appreciate the talent it takes to create these wonderful pieces. As a mid-range (mellophone) player ( once again mostly hack status), I am astounded at the playing ability. I am green with envy and blue in the face from renewed practice time.
+Kevin Gherlone Thanks a lot !
Long live the IHS. Love this video. I love how much "horn solo" music John writes in The Olympic Fanfare (1984), Lost in Space, Star Wars and so many more amazing scores. Great playing Marc. I attended the Interlochen National Music Camp in 1980 and 1981. Hope to meet you someday.
Saw this in elementary school, I just graduated high school, and I'm watching it again. :) Never gets old
I just canât help but keep coming back to this same video from years and years ago. I left a comment 3 years ago and it still makes my jaw drop how talented you areâ€ïž I really really love and enjoy listening to this and the remastered versionâ€ïžâ€ïž I hope you know that I will keep growing older and I will never get this video out of my head. Iâll leave a comment in between years and couple hundred views of my own
Thank you so much for this! French Horn is such a difficult instrument, but everytime I get frustrated and just want to quit I simply watch this, and it never fails to renew my deep love of this heavenly instrument. If it were not for you and the genius of His Majesty John Williams I probably would have quit long ago, and I cannot imagine how much less rewarding my life would be without the Horn.
Thank you for sharing this Rose !
Really glad to know this medley has such an impact on you :)
I've played French Horn for about 7 years and still have so far to go before I get to be as good as that. that was incredible.
You can really tell how much John Williams liked French Horns because his pieces arrange so well for a horn ensemble. Great work Marc, looking forward to what you bring to us in the future!
This is the video that inspired me to play french horn. This is my third year and I have loved it ever since. Thank you for contributing amazing music to CZcams:)
please keep working on getting this published, i love listening to this and i would love to learn to play it myself one day. :) you are a great player and this sounds amazing.
I stood up and clapped yelling Bravo in my office just so I could post that I'd given you a Standing Ovation !!
Since I first heard Peter and the Wolf, I knew the French Horn was the most beautiful instrument in the orchestra - that was at age 6 (1968), and I played through college.
I want to start playing again - you have motivated me
Thank you for being an inspiration
Man, I LOVE that you ended with E.T.'s ending! It's my favorite science fiction movie, and one of my favorite movie soundtracks! Long live John Williams!
Same for me ! One of my all-time favorites movies and score... those last 15 minutes of music are just sheer Perfection
After being first chair in my high school wind ensemble, you sir have made me happy to be a musician of the French Horn. Thank you for sharing this!
I've been playing horn for over 6 years now and oh god im not even close to this level of playing... its just amazing and to you +Marc Papegin thanks for showing us your amazing ability to play
you are an amazing musician and you put so much heart into your playing and i love you for you. dont give up on your playing. i will always be your number one fan forever by your side i love you
John Williams's music was one of the strongest reasons why I became a musician. Thank you for doing this. It is just plain awesome!
I've literally been hitting "replay" on this video nonstop for about 2 days now.
I think I watch this every day! I started French Horn In January and I beat everyone out for first chair. It is such a fun instrument to play and practice with.
Same way my freshman year now I'm back to trumpet
Indeed it is.
I cannot tell you how many times I've watched this. Makes me want to dust off the ol' horn! Amazing talent, you have. Don't stop playing.
Do it!!! I recently got off lead trumpet because I was being called home. I'm currently waiting for my horn to be delivered.
i've watched this 50 times since yesterday and I'm 10
Gabe M not sure what your age has to do with it but alright
Michaela B I'm the only person the practices other than a few people and let alone listening to this and romeo and juliet Dance of the Knights
I am a freshmen in highschool, and a band geek. I have been playing horn since my sixth grade year, and every time I feel discouraged I watch this video. You are an inspiration
As a horn player of six years I know who to look up to as an aspiring player now. My jaw drops every time I watch this!
WOW. i'm a choir kid who just started playing french horn (you can imagine). this is practice motivation. fantastic, fantastic job, you're inspiring!!
I'm a flute player and I just got my French Horn today.
Brilliant work!!! I know how hard you must have worked and it is really STUPENDOUS!!!
Jeff Leenhouts Thank you very much ! It is indeed a lot work but I guess it is worth it in the end :)
I've been playing french horn for two years now and this makes me want to play it forever.
Itâs crazy to think I was 1 when this came out and now Iâm a horn player about to enter high school! Iâm looking forward to many more years of the horn and most likely a career in music too!
This just absolutely made my day and I don't even play horn. You sir, are a quite fantastic musician and arranger!
InKane Thank you !
I love how many horns blend so well together. The harmonies work brilliantly and the tones are beautifully sonorous. Particularly fine example of horn playing here...hats off to you sir! :-)
I do not play an instrument currently, but I did play the Cello for a bit. I truly love the sound the French Horn makes. It is my favorite in the orchestra. Excellent job!
You are my hero sir! Haha I, too, am a French Horn player! This is amazing! Your range is impeccable!
I play French Horn too! I love going to practice with the notes and all. Right now I'm studying the notes for "We Will Rock You" by Queen. Best of luck on your journeys with the french horn itself!
My favorite instrument...French Horns!
This gives me the chills all over. Its been a few years since I picked up a horn and this makes me want to go right back to it.
This. Is. Amazing. Jurassic Park is the reason I decided to switch from trumpet to French horn and have never looked back.
Olympic fanfare would've sounded so cool in this
You are French horn God tbh
This is just fantastic!! What a great arrangement!
Thank you so much for that amazing work!!!
This is just insane. Keep it up man, makes me want a french horn even more. Double French Horn is the way to go, correct? Looking at Conn; I've a saxophone by them and love it.
Conn is the best. And you are correct, a double is the only way to go.
defiantly double but I prefer Holton to a Conn
Ik this was 3 months ago but to follow Stacey up, F side is typically better for beginners (if that is indeed what you are)
holton farkas h179 is also a great horn
I really love the sound of my Lawson and my Holton too much compared to Conns in orchestra playing.
Big job. So you should receive renumeration!
Thank you for giving us this excellent concert!
Quite amazing - I was really blown away by this stunning piece of work. Very very well done.
I would love to hear this in an acoustic that suits your playing. You look like you're playing in a smaller room and that seems to kill it a little.
Are you using vibrato?
+Andrew Peck Yes I am !
+Marc Papeghin - French Horn horns are not supposed to use vibrato. Play the English horn if you want vibrato
omg dude you are so amaizing you must theach me your ways i play french horn but im not as good as you
Not how it is supposed to sound
David Smith yeah um the era of Phillips Farkas is over? Modern horn yes please? Iâm not one for vibrato, but Papeghin did a phenomenal job!
The best I have ever seen! Your amazing. So entertaining and eye opening! The horn is awsome!
So good! I love basically everything John Williams has composed so this is well appreciated :D
The best thing on CZcams today. Thanks for sharing your wonderful gift!
One of my absolute favorite videos on youtube. You take Williams work to a new level!
This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen/heard on youtube. Amazing job!!!
The french horns at my school, don't know how to play at all. It's really refreshing to just hear the french horns for once, let alone a whole ensemble or tribute. I love it!!!
Goosebumps. Absolute goosebumps is what this gave me. Well done!
I honestly can't watch this video enough. you are truly gifted beyond words
Outstanding arranging and playing. Real talent & creative excellence. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing. I respect your determination and dedication above all things.
This put me in awe. You sir have a gift. I am a proud French Hornist and Mellophone player in my 8th grade band, and you have given me the motivation to do my best. Thank you.

Brilliant arrangement. I am vastly impressed by the skills of the performance, recording, presentation and production! Honestly one of the best medleys I've heard.
This is the type of French Horn playing that influences my decision to keep playing my Horn in college. I love how you really made every single song mix perfectly! I can't get you super high playing towards the end in the E.T. song. Hope you get this amazing peice of music published! :) Point is... IT'S AMAZING!!

Your dedication to the instrument and love for it is to be commended. Wonderful arrangements here. How I wish I had those years back and was playing in college band again.
Man, this is magnificent! You have a superb talent and I can't effectively put into words how happy I become when I hear this and know that you did it all on your own. Really excellent job! You're a true inspiration to all of us!
That was the coolest french horn playing I've ever heard!!! I have a new french horn goal now!

Excellent dynamics. The first horn-video that's worth liking.
this is my absolute favorite video for french horn music! it is just phenomenal and John Williams is by far my favorite compser. i just started playing the french horn this year and have already made the honors band in my high school! it is truly an amazing instrument and i would love to get a copy of the music for this as well! all of these movies are great and you really did a wonderful job on this! :)
This was great. I played the French Horn many years ago and though I haven't played in a while, I never stopped loving the sound. This was an absolute treat. Thanks.
Incredible job. The Throne Room section gave me chills. Now I'm gonna go practice my horn
So glad you included The Terminal theme! So underrated.
This is simply stunning! :) I just started playing the horn like 2 days ago. I play other instruments already, but I'm really liking this one! Music like this helps inspire me to practice. So thanks for that!
i've been playing horn for six years now and i absolutely love this. it's so inspiring to see someone so talented play music by my favorite composer :)
