- What ACTUALLY happened at Paris Fashion Week this September for the Spring 2024 season besides the French bedbug infestation, Bella Hadid’s runway absence, and street style. In the most ambitious coverage of Paris Fashion Week in the entirety of the fashion industry, we take you to Undercover’s butterfly terrarium cage skirts show with never before seen backstage footage. We also take you along to favorites, including Rick Owens, Comme des Garçons, Junya Watanabe, and Givenchy. Join us this season as we bring you some of the most exciting and exclusive interviews with Julius Juul of Heliot Emil, Peter Do of Helmut Lang, Rok Hwang of Rokh, Albert Kriemler of Akris, and Enfants Riches Déprimés designer Henri Alexander Levy. Models at Courrèges stomped on plaster, while models at Issey Miyake danced about to experimental music. In a first on the channel, we attend our first EVER show with luxury goods behemoth Dior, and we take you along for the ride. Ann Demeulemeester starts over for the third time in 18 months and we meet many new impressive fashion designers that are on the official calendar like Uma Wang, Ruohan, Carven and zomer. I am also thrilled to introduce you to the work of Marina Yee, the most underrated member of the Antwerp 6 in an exclusive interview this season. You deserve a seat on every great fashion houses of New York, Milan, and Paris. 🖤 you Bliss Foster!
don't say that. the more invites he gets, the least honest he can be about brands.
This is the most respectful and finally interesting coverage of fashion week!! the most un-consumerist un-propaganda thoughtful and artist/designer driven coverage I have ever seen. I think you’re going to blow up. I bet designers are going to help.. I know there’s a Rick interview coming
Im joining the patreon WTF
Yours is absolutely the ONLY youtube channel for thinking fashion lovers. I'm an hour into this one and could have recorded any number of exclamations, but somehow your observations on Undercover (around 1:01) just did it for me. Please keep this up, this is the best fashion commentary ever.
I couldn’t stop if I tried 😌 thanks so much for the kind words, homie. Means a lot
As a Parsons Paris alum who lived & worked in a few Paris Maison Haute Couture design studios like Balmain, Lacroix, Dior, Courreges & Castelbajac in the late 80’s thru 90’s, the coverage you presented of the 2024 Printemps Été Prêt-à-Porter defiles is the most intelligent, insightful, exciting and complete reviews of the season I’ve experienced in my 30+ years of industry involvement Bliss Foster! Absolument Magnifique! Bravo et Chapeau 🖤
Wow, damn! Thank you so much, that’s very kind. I’d love to hear more about your industry experience! Send me a DM on IG, let’s talk! 💫💫
@@BlissFoster with pleasure man! Also signed up with you on Patreon..😉
@@gillesgaloustian782 ayyyyy!! Thank you so much! 🙏
Saw a message come up from you in my notifications but can’t find it..! lol.. not on IG..
We do not deserve you and Daniella 🙌 Another exceptional Fashion Week coverage. Thanks for every minute of hard work that went into this!
hey bliss, absolutely loved the video! not sure if you remember but i was the person who called out 'hi bliss!' outside of the cdg show. i'm a first year fashion student in paris, and was standing outside every show that i could dreaming of being inside. not many people showed outside so there were only a couple of shows where i managed to see the clothes being sent down the runway, but i was trying to get as invovled with pfw as i could. anyway, just wanted to say i love your videos and they have helped me learn so much about fashion !
Yeah! Ofc I remember! I wish we had had a chance to meet! Best of luck at fashion school 💫💫
The Marina Yee is such a legend. She is out there showing things can be thoughtful, practical and always with so much style. In a really good way, she is not defined by her commercial success, she is defined by her brilliant irreverence and capacity to carry the level of her craft to the highest aesthetical level. Thank you Bliss for bringing her interview to your platform!
I really like what MW is doing at Givenchy. He seems to understand how to reference the archives while pulling the brand in a more experimental yet still wearable direction. It’s refreshing and always peaks my curiosity.
A couple of comments, all in good spirit! Christin Dior wasn’t 5% if the French economy, but of friends foreign exports. Also, Salem witches were not burnt, they were hung. And they included not only women, but also men and children. Hope these will be well received! Thanks for your work!
We love corrections! Could you offer a source for the 5% thing?
Interestingly, historic accuracy isn’t always the primary concern when artists are being inspired by something. Everything you said about the trials is definitely true, but I think sometimes, designers are taking inspiration from popular perception rather than the documented, historic facts.
Coats are hung, people are hanged.
coats are hung ironic given the fashion topic@@JellyFlavoredGerman
Almost 2 hours of prime content holy. I don't know how you do this but hats off & massive respect for your hard work and all those involved
time to pay attention
update: 2/6 of the antwerp six interviewed! LFG blissss!
1:21:50 I can’t help but think of those icy pops I used to have as a kid during the summer, and how when you used to buy them they came with all the colors mixed up yet lined perfectly straight. I usually dislike a lot of color in my outfits, so this particular look isn’t my usual taste…but for that reason and memory alone, I love it.
Also, I’ve always loved fashion and art since I was little, but I tend to dislike how people talk about it, so thank you for these videos that don’t follow the typical fashion expert formula.
This art deserves to be paid for same as any documentary on streaming. The guy made a feature length doco. 👏
Ayyyyy thank you so much 😊
Just got finished :) and it's some of the most respectful and informative content I've seen. Y'all never fail to amaze me. I hope you can get some rest now❤️ much love to you
Thank you so much for this video, really. I am currently working on my fashion design portfolio and I got super inspired to create due to your analysis of these shows. I love your videos and the inside view you get into fashion week. I am always mesmerized by your insight and interpretations!
THANK YOU for your awesome, in-depth analysis!! I adore your choices of shows you cover too. All of my favs, nearest and dearest to my heart, plus many new houses I have never seen or heard of before such as MAME KUROGOUCHI. OMG, thank YOU SO MUCH for introducing me to that house!! I am so glad I found your channel!
I am sick right now, so this is a perfect way to rest my mind.
What an amazing episode, Bliss & Dani!!! Your voice coupled with the beautifully written voice-overs makes the experience both educational and soothing. Sad to hear Jun lost some loved ones, but I hope this beautiful show has given him some catharsis .
Thank you so much! The voiceovers are definitely the most dreaded part of the process 😂 we get back super exhausted and then Daniella is like “time to strap you into the microphone booth“ 😭
This was amazing. Thank you for the huuuuge amount of time and dedication. I’m joining the Patreon next month:)
absolutely fantastic coverage and insight again bliss. thank you for your hard work, you've made my week.
I always look forward to these fashion week coverages, you're absolutely the best at what you do Bliss, keep it up! We love you and your content ❤
amazing coverage of the shows thank you! i appreciate also the part on AKRIS i personally love this brand so much the quality is just next next level. look forward to the next fashion week you cover!
Best fashion coverage 💯 🔥
thank you!!! I love this and how you always bring so much context and history which honestly changes the whole lens
thank you so much for your questions, bliss! really appreciate how insightful they are and it really brings out each of the designers' craft and thought process. you deserve all the success coming to you ❤
Just watched this whole thing. Thank yall for always making quality content. Been watching for years 🙏
This channel has taught me so much about the world and art of fashion. Keep making great things!
Thank you so much for this! Love, love, love your coverage! Well done. Respect.
About halfway through, excellent. I really like the shots where you talk while walking to the show, it makes the video dynamic, pulls us into the experience of going to the shows including physically getting to them.
Curious if the drone shot at Owens is yours or ............?
I am curious how you feel toward everyday fashion, not street style where someone has done something creative, but just average, not-high-end, not very different looks.
Also, do you think someone could be an interesting person if they didn't wear interesting clothes?
As far back as I can remember I've loved music/rock 'n' roll fashion. Be cool if you did something on that, maybe Grammies fashion.
thank you so much for your coverage - i always enjoy your channel
and insight. xx
Incredible as always, Bliss! almost 2 hours of premium content end to end
I couldn't find that Keen collaborated with Noir Kei Ninomiya on the shoes tho 😅
Your video came up on my feed this morning and I have now subscribed to your channel. I've have been glued to the news for the past week and a half with a very heavy heart and your video has shone a ray of sunshine into my day 🌞. The artistic aspect of Fashion has always inspired and distracted me but it hasnt had a place inmy daily life for a very long time. I hadnt thought about it before today but maybe it's because most videos today feel really superficial and just not very interesting. So thank you for your work. I appreciate your special perspective you give and I look forward to seeing more of your videos. ❤

Most excellent video. Very enjoyable, informative, professional, yet down to Earth enough so a layman can easily decipher the lingo. Really noteworthy. Much luck in the future.
I will be showed my collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week and I’m enjoying your content. I have a question for you, should I join your Patreon to ask? Amazing work!

You helped me scratch my itch for learning more about art and fashion during the winter months. I loved the GBS interview and can’t wait to see what you get up to in the coming years. Top work!!
Thanks fo much for so profound Fashion Week review and helping to discover some new so unique designers!
Your summary is really concise and insightful , I found it added depth and meaning to the shapes and Colours blowing in the wind as the models tried to walks as fast as possible. Really well done , it was thoughtful and I couldn’t stop watching . Thank you for taking to time to be real and articulate the ideas and visions of each creator , without that knowledge it’s almost pointless watching the fashion shows , as the meaning would be lost , but you created a visual map that went along with the clothes that made sense to the chaos of creation . 🙏🏻
I agree with your description of Bliss Fosters n co (I apologise, I have forgotten his partners name but realise she works as hard as he in the making of these very real videos). I wz so thankful to you in the way you gave thanx to Bliss. There is no way in this moment in time that my over tired brain would’ve even attempted it. I wz rapt reading yr comment. U said it all eloquently intelligently I once again thank n now it’s definitely good night from N Z❤
Genius… thank you for sharing so much knowledge. And thanks for sharing so many details that we (definitely I) might have missed.
I agree! Matthew William’s best Givenchy show!

i love your metaphors and words description!!!!👏🏻🙌🫶👊👍
Bliss Foster never disappoints!!! Don’t know how I would navigate this chaotic industry without your input..
marina! love! i do that, too, with my clothes. change stuff coz i can't help it. and the fact that they're secondhand makes it easier to feel ok about sublimating by cutting up and restructuring subtly or drastically but still respecting the og garment 💚 thankyou for doing u and that inspired her to go to paris for the interview 💜 "not you, raf" 😂
Incredible content per usual 🙌🏾
Yaaaaayyyyyy was waiting for this one
We release em every 3 months 🦾
YOU my dear Sir are a Wordsmith!!! I was here from first word to last. I could listen to you describe the phone book and be enthralled!!! Thank You!

eyy that Undercover show was my first time watching a runway show live! Also my mom showed up halfway through to watch with me (very cool)
It was so good right??? That’s an awesome first one 🦾
bringing families together
Great Video. But I have a remark regarding the UNDERCOVER part: The paintings on the garments are not by Jun Takahashi as you state. They are the works of german artist Neo Rauch
I love corrections, thank you 💫💫
Searching for this comment. It looked so familiar to me.
I believe the Velazquez painting that was referenced is "Las Meninas".
💗 you guys for taking us on the journey!
Thank you so much for this, you have such eye opening opinions and this inspired me in many ways as someone who has shied away from their obsession w fashion due to partying amgonst other things any ways that’s besides the point , you’re appreciated so much xx
I am so happy this popped up on my recommended. So entertaining! Very thoughtful and educational! You've got a new fan!!!!!

Jun Takahashi for sure!! And thank you for an incredible coverage with equally incredible interpretations
As always- bravo! Also, how come you always choose to go Paris (besides Rick)?
the show at the 18 min mark did give me silent hill vibes but that was part of what made the show really interesting, there are a few fashion designers that make things that i would expect actors to wear when they are portraying a future we cant fully concieve which is another thing i like alot about their style
Great fashion coverage.
It's always such a breath of fresh air to see what the House of Miyake is producing. I'm female and have worn Miyake since the early 80s and still have my collections from back when Issey was designing. I've followed the House of Miyake over many decades.
I wish I had kept my pieces from the Plantation collection which came out in 1981. But, I wore those pieces for years and then gave them to friends who wanted them. But, at least I still have my pieces from the Miyake Collection which are the really incredible pieces. Some of the same ones are probably displayed in museum exhibits these days and I've seen quite a few pieces for sale online as vintage and the current vintage prices really raise an eyebrow.
It was great to see Marina Lee as I have been a big Antwerp 6 fan since its beginnings. But, I mostly wore/wear Ann D, Dries Van Noten, and Dirk Birkkembergs.
Chitose Abe....I love her designs and also wear her. She's very creative and the clothes are great. What's great about both a lot of Japanese designers and also various members of the Antwerp Six is that many of their designs are timeless. It's not fast fashion as far as tons of trends.
Greetings from Los Angeles
the clothes are all gorgeous and i appreciate all your work. i do have a question though (as someone who has passing interest in fashion): isn’t it a bit boring for all the models to have almost the same body (type)? i feel like good clothes should be able to shine on every body and none seems to be interested in showing this. and everyone is trying to push their vision forward but none can push their imagination to see differently sized people in their clothes.
amazing buddy love your critics to the fashion really intresting il keep watching more of ur work
You both are amazing... thank you so much for your analysis
ok, I have never heard of you before but I am absolutely giving you a subscribe 12 minutes in. VERY TECHNICAL!! Soooooo good and refreshing in comparison to other youtube "influencers" coverage of PFW. Gowns, beautiful gowns where as you presented this as a journalist and authentic "fashionista" or lack of better word.

Also, why is “fashionista” in quotes? 🤨
Thank you for addressing tights over heels I mentioned this as an option for the models shoes in fashion course I completed and everyone scoffed and laughed thinking that would be stupid 😂
Just wanted to let you know you were appreciated today, I am unable to monetarily support you. But, I did want to support your channel in someway. The depth of your research is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious❤😂
Thanks so much, Dr. Holz 💫💫
I love that you are always positive and empathetic to the designers and sincerely try to understand their messaging and feelings. Thank you for being you. You are really enriching my life.
Thanks for noticing! It’s not so much that I’m just trying to be a nice guy, I just want us all to learn as much as we can 💫💫
You are so incredibly generous. Thank you for this 🙏🙌
been waiting for this video !!

Still dismayed that models cannot walk in heels...
Absolutely LOVE your observations and analysis 😊
thanks for this masterpiece.

Making the correlation to Wallace Stevens's : The Emperor of Ice Cream " to the Commes Des Garcons show..Wow. Haha !
Haven't even watched half of this yet I'm feeling so excited that I could explode..How brilliant..How inspiring. Of a caliber that I and and confident that many others have been starving for. Thank you so much, Bliss Foster.
Wow! Amazing video! Very well done! You’re the best at reporting in the fashion world 👗👠👜
Damn, thank you so much!
What I have learned from you , as a plain basic dresser, is what fashion really is supposed to be about. It’s much more intellectual and complex than I ever realized. influencers are mostly just commercials for non fashionable people and know nothing about the messaging from the artists . I’ll never be a true fashionista but I definitely now appreciate it on an intellectual level. I had to watch years of your videos to finally open my eyes. Thank you for teaching this area in such a wonderful palatable way. You are great. Plus I love hearing about all these artists I never knew existed.
I realize I was too harsh on the fashionistas. There is a difference between being well styled and actual fashion. Many are very skilled at proportion/color and putting basics together in a more styled way. It’s a different skill set for a different audience. I also learned a lot from that group about how to use the garments I own in the best way. Also an important skill. So I suppose the secondary lesson I took away was that both groups, artists and fashionistas, have different roles to play. The business of fashion is a whole separate subject that also plays an integral role. But that’s got nothing to do with the artistry of it all.
