- A New girl pop VOCALOID Sonika has been released from Zero-G. I made Sonika to sing "Butterfly" originally sung by SMiLE d.k., which is popular as a song in Dance Dance Revolution.

Sonika's really good. Since she's made for singing French, German, English, Japanese and more, I believe.
But I love her latest design, and it's not as plain as the one in this video.
Haha. Yeah, but the fact they sound like pretty robots is what I love about them, and the fact they are not tied down to any specific genre or song type. I respect your opinion about Sonika, different ears different likes :3
I read she can do any language because she can pronounce almost any consonant and vowel combo imaginable. o.o pretty amazing..

English seems like a more difficult language for Vocaloids to sing, even if they have been made for it. Maybe its because of difficult pronouncing or something.
But Sonika came out really good in this, Good job.
Currently I believe there is a on going compentition to re-design Sonika. And she can sing pretty much in ANY language, here system is one of the most advanced.
Wow, I've NEVER heard this VOCALOID before, but that's probably because I only listen to certain songs with the older VOCALOIDs.

No if anything Sonika has more clarity then Teto and she pronounces english better.Meaning her singing is a lot clearer and the robotic sound doesn't override like Miku's. An example of that would be Luka and Miku singing magnet you notice how Miku's voice overrides Luka's?
It's easy to understand Sonika too.

her official name is megpoid. just like gakupo's is gackpoid. (they are made by the same company along with gachapoid or Ryuto.) she is called gumi because her voice donor/actress or whatever is named megumi.

actually, if you go to the official website, you should be able to see that this has relationship to Japan, because it's name was written in Japanese instead of English...
sonika isnt reliant on syllables and phonetics.
so she can speak nearly every language possible!
She sings it more clearly than the original version.
When she says "Green, black and blue" it sounds like she's saying "Green, black and blow" XDD

..I can't say I really Sonika as much as other vocaloids. I'll always be a Rin, Len, and Miku fan to the end but when it comes to being bilingual I like Luka and Miriam better than Sonika. Though before making a final judgment I'll wait out for some more songs; she is still new and people ares still playing around with her voice I guess. I am hoping better songs will come out.
