- Stunning dry-bath, which means separate spaces inside the van for a toilet and a shower, in the all-new 2024 Bayside by Chinook RV on a Ford Transit chassis at just 22 feet in length.
Factory rep, Seth, walks us through the Transit-based Bayside. Then, he shows us the all-new Summit B+ RV on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis at the 2024 Ocala RV Show.
Camper Van too small? Need more interior space in your RV?
The all-new Summit B+ RV by Chinook features stunning dry-bath with a room for the toilet and sink, and a separate room for the shower. Though the Summit is just a few inches longer and wider on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis,

Howdy! My name is Scott. In 2017, I was unhappy with a traditional house (aka, storage unit) and a long Chicago commute. In 2018, I reinvented my life which included buying a Winnebago Travato GL Camper Van. How important is having a separate toilet and shower area in your Class B RV Camper Van, versus a wet bath where you shower with your toilet?
It's not as important as having a larger kitchen counter and having a bed separate from the lounging area so you don't have to make the bed every day. Since we have a Laveo dry toilet, technically we could remove it before showering and always have a shower with no toilet.
Would rather have wet bath with a sink.
Thinking of a
Palladium 19 20
Or 2024 Tranquility Transit 19LT
Is it bad that I thought your thumbnail said rare dry BIRTH in a van? Yes, a completely different video than what I was expecting! Thanks for sharing! Glad there weren't any births at the Ocala RV show!
I’ve always loved the Chinook’s. Both of those are beautiful vans. The only thing I would change is to have windows that open on the B van. Definitely on the top of my list
Thanks for sharing
Windows that do not open, I would cook inside. As a Van dweller those windows are a big deal.
Thx OR
We(couple +/- 60) just bought this class B after flying in from Europe; starting anew in Florida. It’s been great, even though a bit tight, camping in our Nook with a Giant Schnauzer. I‘d definitely recommend this RV with its dry bath, still only wish the windows would open; at least in the bathroom. However, the vents work well. But we’re going to get a screen soon for the side entrance to leave that open. Storage, also big fridge and freezer is fantastic; we are creative with adjustments, learned from you other campers out there. ☺️
Welcome to 🇺🇸 from 🇪🇺…
All super high quality components ! 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Rich
❤the second one.
Hi Linda
Beautiful but I'm okay with my wet bath, Murphy bed and more counter space.
Hi Britt
Hey Seth Gregg S. here from the Hartford show, it's gr8 to see the pride you have in your product and in your work. There's many formats you can do with Chinooks. I.E take families out to dinner that don't want to drive or a day of sightseeing, many business opp's as well as daily driver. Look at those thick comfortable benches, they even take the chassis seats and make them better. You can drive for a long distance's comfortably. Exceptional build quality, reasonably priced, and you get top quality woodworking. Most importantly you guys actually listened to the customers needs, that's what I felt after meeting and speaking with you. Good luck with the show. And hi Scott Thank you for all your work and effort, you are such an asset to the RV community, and loved by everyone, myself included and I always look forward to your videos.
Hey there
Really nice rigs. As you said,”well done.” Thanks for sharing the find.
Thanks for watching!
Freezer on the Bottom! Win! Nice Rig Chinook!
You got that right!
The van is pretty but not functional (no opening windows and that tiny flip up counter for cooking looks dangerous, I could see myself bumping the hot food on the floor.) The B+ is in their wheelhouse and it shows, it's beautiful!
Got it
Well done!
TY
chinook, amazing beautiful
It really is!
Do they have these with a pop up so it sleeps 4?
***??? could you do a video on what tools you need and want on a rig? and why?
Dan… cool idea
👍👍👍
Kay !
Windows need to open !
Would you buy a car or bus or class C RV with windows that didn't open ? NO!
Thx Pat
Two fire starters!!!!
LOL
Does the Summit have extra seat belts in the couch/dinette front facing seat?
Not sure
Great Program
Question how come the Chinook Bayside doesn't have the Ford xenon black head light.
If it had it would be nice. Thinking it's a 2024 year and would it be able to park in a normal place
Thanks
Hi Ron

Hi
I really like both vans though the larger one would be my choice. Can you option say a Laveo toilet ?
Hi Jim
Off topic, but what happened to the wingamm RV ? No show at the Tampa RV show, and nobody is talking about it anymore.
Heh there… I might have a Wingamm update later this month
As to the Bayside, it seems much smaller inside than other Transit builds, I'm unsure why. Sure the dry bath is nice but what you give up from the wet bath in other rear bath models in that same space is that large storage piece with drawers and a closet. If it is wider than other class Bs, as he said, why the narrowest twin beds, 25" wide, of any class B that I've seen? First time I've seen any below 28". Windows that do not open is, with all due respect, ludicrous! The sizeable fridge is nice but the freezer drawer on both sounded so cheap when he opened and closed them. As to the Summit, it's nice that it has leveling. I like the ample solar and no generator aspect. I'd hate to have to make up the bed every night.
MSRP $200k and $263k, respectively. I understand Chinook, supposedly, makes a good product but these would both be a no for me.
Thank you both for the tours!
Thx Jonny
I like a real freezer with separate door. Separate shower and toilet is nice but no sink? Dual wheels though... And ladder sticking out the side... Hmmm
Hmmm
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
B & J :)
Didn't open up the beds .
Sorry about that
I have a friend with a toxic colon. Not sure if this will work. Nice overall.
Chicago !
Windows that don’t open make it too much like being in the Titan Submersible!
Thx Zee
Scott, I'm sure you know that there's no such thing as a B+ RV.... that's just a small Class C.....
Regarding the van, yeah, I know they were very excited about the dry bath, but, there's very limited storage space in the van for clothes and food.... speaking of food, that countertop for prepping anything except making some coffee is ridiculous. No sink in the bathroom area....OK, he said, just use the kitchen sink... what about shaving.... where's a mirror in this van....
The Class C certainly takes care of all this, but, it's $215,000...and a lot bigger vehicle to drive..... nothing spontaneous with a Class C..... You did a nice presentation though as always.
Thx Mark
Cheesy build
Thx Lusty
No likey.
Beds are way too narrow. 9 inches less than a promaster body.
Kitchen is a joke. Also notice the salesman had a hard time closing the door under the sink.
Too high a price point for it also.
Thx Chris
Don't even want to know the price I know it's way over...
LOL
Not a bad layout, but the ladder on the side is an accident waiting to happen.
LOL
The first RV is a fail without windows that don't open and no max air fan for proper ventilation. The only way you could use this rv is if you plug it in all the time. The bathroom needs a complete re-design. The shower area needs some cubby's to store shampoo, and on the toilet side It needs a medicine cabinet or storage cubby's. I see a storage cabinet above toilet but is not the right storage for that area. I'm ok with 1 sink but in this case is a no because is all the way to the front, what they should have build is a flip down sink above toilet. Is frustrating that this RV companies have being building RV's for many years and this is what they have to show complete laziness.
Thx Alex
Euro vans put any US made van into shame.... and for half price.
The German vehicles are probably the best designed, engineered and most creative out there.
I might not know what they are saying, but I know what I am seeing.
Thx Sam
Window should open garbage.
Dry bath is a big waste of space. Only thing this van would be good for would be like a construction manager or something. Someone that needs to use the shower everyday and isn't attempting to actually use this for camping with windows that don't open.
Bathroom door is really cheap looking as most probably don't wanna just leave it open when bathroom isn't in use
Thx MM
Lose the hand it's really annoying.
