Newly widowed mother of 5 learns a Secret Santa is paying for her husband's funeral

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy this holiday season helping a local man gift $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to bless as many individuals in our community as he can.
Heidi is the mother to five amazing children. Her husband passed away last week after a long health battle.
Shane had been extremely sick for years and received a kidney transplant. The family was looking forward to Shane's health returning and being able to live a normal life when they learned he had cancer.
He lived in excruciating pain daily, but that didn't stop him or Heidi from constantly finding ways to serve others. From sending gifts to those who are recovering from accidents, to cleaning their church regularly, to taking meals to those who have lost loved ones - they can always be found serving.
The children at home who are old enough to work are helping make ends meet, but rent has increased over the last year and there are challenges.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to pay Heidi a visit with an early Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see the surprise! - Zábava
I feel dumb and ashamed when I complain about insignificant things. They just suffered a terrible loss. May our heavenly father watch over and be with this family. Give them comfort and love.

You’re right Debbie, I think many of us feel that way. I think there’s always going to be someone who has had it worse than us, regardless of what happened to us in our lives. True, maybe we won’t complain about bumps and bruises and a few hardships here and there, but for the big stuff, yeah it would definitely cause mental and emotional trauma for us. I hope that makes sense.
I was humbled years ago when I was actively serving as an EMT/ Firefighter. Whenever I thought I had it bad, I could go on my next call whether it was a house fire and people lost everything or looking into the eyes of a widow who was losing her husband while we were doing CPR.
I always called my time on calls a love/hate relationship
I feel the same way. We just never know what others are going through.
I don’t even live in Idaho,or even America for that matter, but every day I watch one of these and it always makes me smile.

Her daughter walking up smiling was like a ray of light, they had the same smile. I'm thankful this secret Santa is doing something I wish I could do but can't.
This one brought me to tears. Just losing her husband a few days ago after a painful death. Must have been incredibly hard to watch her husband go through this. Thank you for paying off the funeral expenses. That would have been a worry. I’m glad she has the 8k on top of it. It’s so nice that Secret Santa is helping out people like them. It sure makes all of us realize how fortunate we are, even when we think life sucks sometimes. Merry Christmas ❤️
I could almost feel the weight lift off of her, what a tough thing to go through, these are all amazing but this one's like watching a miracle happen for someone.
One less thing to worry about with the funeral cost. And you are right, sometimes we see miracles but don't know it at the time, but this time, we did.
This first year I couldn't buy gifts. I have felt so bad. But then I realized having my 78 year mom here. Is what holiday is about an gifts are nice. But having my mom is best gift ever.

I'm sorry for this family's loss.
Such a raw time for them. At least this lady doesn't have to worry about the money for the funeral anymore and also a small weight lifted with thr help with the groceries and the cash. Taking away this worry will help give her the space to be able to grieve a little more.
