Abby always made it sound like she was some famous teacher. So in reality you guys made a name for her, she just got lucky it was her studio!

An article I read eons ago thst was an interview the casting director did, he said the reason Abby was on the show is the moms said they wouldn't do it without her and guaranteed she would also make great tv. Christie is the first person I have heard that told the truth, pretty much the same way the casting director did in thw interview I read years ago, which has solidified what I always felt, she's the only one who is always genuinely honest.

She was my favorite from that moment on.
Chloé was and is such a sweet, disciplined, talented girl. She was a really good role model for young girls watching.

The idea on how the show got started is starting to sound like those old fishing stories - where the buddies go fishing & catch a 6 inch fish, but the more they tell the stories about the fishing trip the fish kept getting bigger and bigger.
love how Abby always said the girls were replaceable when in reality the OG girls and their moms are the ones loved to this day. can never replace the OG's!!!!

I remember seeing this show 10 years ago and thinking “if the girls my age can do all of that then I can do too”. So crazy that because of a tv show I have been dancing for 10 years now.
I was 2 when the first show premiered in America but I’m from England so I’m not sure when it was first on in the uk
I would always stick to the first few seasons

I just hate how the dance teacher to this day claims that she made those kids famous when the show was really about the moms and their daughters at the first place. And to be completely honest, I would DEFINITELY watch the show with any other dance teacher. I just loved to see the performance, choreography and the kids improving their technique and talent. If anything, I would prefer way less drama with the dance teacher. I'm not a big fan of drama at all but imo the worst arguments were all caused by the dance teacher. I started watching DM from the beginning this year and I can't for the life of me keep watching S4. I've watched it before but I guess I'm a little more anxious about it nowadays. Btw, Thanks Christi for giving us all the behind the scenes we need.
I mean there is fun drama, like confronting challenges with new dance styles or the drama of trying to travel and still learn dances ect, but a lot of things the show tried to treat as "omg drama!" was actually just being mean to children for no reason 😕
Abby actually made the girls stars.Abby is not as harsh anymore.Abby really didn't start drama.Some of us like or love Abby and some of us don't.She was a good coach tho.

The only one who's still close to her is JoJo and IMO she's only nice to JoJo because of her fame. I don't like Abby for other reasons beside being rude to kids, for an example, I hate people that are obsessed with money like she is. It's literally the only thing she cares about. And how did SHE made them stars? Most of the opportunities the girls got were because of the show. I've watched some recent interviews she did and she's still as mean as she was 10 years ago. I give her and Gianna all the credits when it comes to choreography and creativity. That was the only good thing about their teaching method. And yes, she did start drama. I don't have much time right now to remember episodes but the first one that came up to my mind was when she made the kids vote for Maddie or Chloe's solos. She did things that she KNEW would start some drama. I'm sorry but there's not a thing in this world that would make me think she is a good person.
@@dudaxsoares I do disagree with some rude comments she made to the girls or whatever but she's not a bad person. I know you have to be tough being a coach but in some episodes I thought she was being overly strict in some episodes. I watched some of the new episodes on CZcams of Dance Moms. She doesn't yell as much Etc
@@dudaxsoares I read a biography on Dance Moms. The Producers used to make fun of her and were mean to her and giving her food. I think that's partially on why she was overly strict. I think parsley The Producers made her that way to a certain extent. I really do believe that. The Producers stressed out really bad by making fun of her. Now that's not nice. Those producers should not have done that. No wonder why she was stressed on some episodes most of them

i was 12 when it started and i’m 22 now.. i literally grew up with this show. growing up with the moms and girls was absolutely EVERYTHING. Thanks to all of you for being a part of who i am now and to be part of my life❤️

From the beginning, Chloe was always my favorite! She was a sweet kid who acted like she loved every girl on the dance team. She always showed her emotions honestly and was very empathetic when one of her friends was worried or was made to feel bad by Abby. That's an amazing quality to have at her young age. Chloe was such a special little girl and there were so many reasons why I loved her the most throughout every season.
I just started watching this show and from the start Chole was and will always be my favorite. Such a beautiful girl. With such amazing natural talent

@@shaehoward4793 no…. the people who were starting dance moms saw that Melissa and christi were talking crap abt each other in there interviews and so they decided to focus on the one studio instead of different moms and kids across the usa.

I was just finishing college when Dance Moms started and I LOVED it (well, until Chloe left). I was so blown away by their talent, and the entertainment from the moms was too fun. When things went really south for Chloe, though, I stopped watching. It all just felt too toxic for those poor kids. Who could treat a sweet kid like Chloe that way?

Wow and all those years Abby took all the credit for it being "her" show when in reality if it weren't for the kids and their moms she would never have become a household name. Thanks Christi & Chloe, Holly & Nia, Kelly, Brooke & Paige, Melissa, Maddie & McKenzie for the years of entertainment. I watched it from day one and couldn't get enough of it.
Also a lot of others that were affiliated with "Dance Moms" and are a household name today owes you Moms big time!

I've enjjoyed watching Dance Moms for many years. The show will truly be missed but the dancers and Moms will live on for generations.
My daughter and I watched from the beginning. Her first year of college we FaceTimed and watched together. I was a soccer mom but it’s basically the same no matter the sport. I agree that it was everyone who made the show so good!

I think season 1 & 2 we're probably the most authentic to me bc it felt is real but with drama season 3 was when it started to get to dramatic
Same. I remember I was in middle school when the first season premiered I stopped watch it mid season 3 bc I felt it started becoming extra but always supported the Girls from A far since
chloe has always been my favorite. you always kept it completely real and did what you had to do for your kid to get her where she is. so proud of both of you!! so much courage in the both of you!
I remember when the show premiered my mom called me into her room and was like “look at this dance show! The moms are so crazy” and we started watching it together every week when it would come out 😂😂
I met you & Chloe back at a meet & greet so long ago in boston. She must’ve been 13 or 14. She carried herself so maturely and was poised even then. You’re a great mom ❤️

We could tell you always knew how to have fun even on those gloomy days. Finally someone has told the truth about how the show started 👏👏 I knew there was a reason Christie was my favorite, I always felt she was the only genuine honest person on the show, she just proved what I always felt. Only thing different from an interview article I read from the casting director that I read years ago, was that Abby got on the show because the mother's weren't going to do it without her! I remember after reading that article everytime I would hear Christie or another mom say Abby got famous because of their children, it certainly gave that statement a whole new level!
I would really love to see Christie write a tell all book.

I’m so glad you made this video and told us how it all began. I’ve always wondered. And knowing that Abby wasn’t the reason it all began, it was you and the other moms that helped create the show! I have the most vivid memory of the first time I watched Dance Moms the exact day it first aired, it was my dads birthday and I was in my room about to go to bed and my mom was in the living room watching tv, she yelled up to me to come down and watch the show with her and from then on I was hooked, it became my comfort show and still is to this day, insane that it’s been 10 years.
I watched the whole video thoroughly interested. Hearing the timing of things was really cool. Thanks for sharing! Your seasons were my favorite.

I actually just started watching dance moms a month ago and I'm up to the 3rd season ! Chloe dropped her hat in the dance and Abby went crazy even though they won 1st place . But I can't wait to finish ! My fav mom is Christi !

how did i never know dance moms premiered on my birthday! it was my favorite show growing up, especially since I was a dancer too. the girls and i were the same age so i was so inspired by the girls that i joined a local dance company and had the time of my life. im so glad i started rewatching it, it brought back so many memories.

When reality TV folks shoot to fame they normally don’t look back, drop people they no longer need and have a “celebrity” attitude. This is brilliant, it’s so heartfelt, kind and humble. I loved you on the show, you always made me giggle plus out of all of the dancers in my opinion Chloe was treated deplorably by Abby. I’ve commented on dance moms vids in the past and no matter what’s going down, NEVER have i ever witnessed anything as snide and downright disgusting as when Abby had the judges take the win from Chloe and give it to Maddie, her little heart was broken and i admit, I shed many a tear before the absolute frustrating anger kicked in. How you kept it together i’ll never know! Anyway, love your bouncy, bubbly, funny, straight shooting personality and I wish you and your family all the very best ❤❤❤ Lots of love from Iran x

I just need to say that I love you so much and you were probably my favorite mom from dance moms! No offense to anyone else but you were always so blunt and tell it like it is no matter who you’re talking to and I love that! I think you are an amazing mother and you are tough but also so loving and caring and you have raised beautiful children that can do anything with a mother like you behind them!💞
my biggest flex is that i went to the first ever dance moms meet and greet at the doubletree hotel for my 10th birthday. it was between season 2 and 2.5 and i drew stick figures of all the girls costumes for them. i can’t believe i got to see the costume you made for chloe in person. it did not look like a bra!
You guys should meet up with all the cast for the 10 year anniversary and do some type of remake 🤗😂

July 13 2011 is when dance moms came out and that’s the same day as my birthday which is July 13 2006 and I remember when dance moms first aired I got so into it and it’s the best show out there

Rewatching dance moms for the first time since it came out. I remember always having it set to record in case I missed an episode. I was 12 when the show came out and also a dance so I religiously watched it and loved it. such an iconic show in many ways!!
