Just saw/currently watching your video. I have to say, having grown up around racecars etc, i absolutly love your vlogs. One video i have a pov down track, and then today? You set camera down off left rear during warmup. Awesome. I always stop to watch a prof/even better, do what they do. May be some joking going on, but when needed you and your crew 100% are turned and locked on. Money aside, just shows as group, from my perspective, realize what you/they do can be deadly 109% of the time. Real pros make it look easy, but get it done. In comparison, airplanes, pilots, crew… same. To the fastest red necker ever, keep going fast!

You raced at George Rays Wildcat Hot Rod dragstrip in mid 1980s when you were 16 or so. I was the starter. You ran Mark Doty and his off yellow Nova, late 60's. He won. You didn't want me to send you downtrack, but rather wanted George to flag you. He did. At the time I was pissed off, but in hindsight it was a good thing. We had the tree for a year or 2 at that time. Anyway, I want to thank you for these videos and your sister for hers. The information you give on driving these nitro monsters is amazing 👏. Keep it up my friend. When you come back to George Rays let me know. I saw the video from last year when you did re-visit the track that time forgot. The guy telling you about George pistol whipping someone was full of feces. He didn't see that, because it never happened.

There is SO much in lifte that is incredibly easy when you sit in an armchair watching on a screen, vs. doing the thing in real life. In the arm chair, especially after it happened, it's VERY easy to say what you should've done. Making he right decision before you goo out on track is so much harder. I know. I've stood in a pit-lane saying "it's not going to rain that much, it's lighter already over there", and then had the motorcycle rider come in after 6 laps in increasingly slippery track, saying "Can't rid this, sliding all over the place" - that was definitely right deciision at the time. Had we known, we should have sent the bike back out, the red-flagged it on the next lap. And teh viewers at home knew that. We didn't when we made the decision. That's how life works. We don't alway know what's going to happen.
That's also half the fun.

Would love to hear what approx various crew chiefs and members make a season and pro drivers? Do drivers get to keep all the cash winnings and our the whole crew spread it around to its members also? Maybe the team owner gets it all? I’ve always wondered.😊
I’m sure it depends from team to team but it’s probably a close variation to this:
Owner- gets the winnings
Driver- negotiates his part before season per race + bonuses
Crew-probably the same a driver but smaller %

It seems like all teams are chasing the track temperature. Is there a limit on the number of times that a crew can go onto the track and measure the temperature? Are there any last-minute changes you can make to the car when you are in the staging lane if you find out the track temperature has changed more than what the car is set up for?
