  • In this episode, we are once again looking at some more decent budget interesting commanders. This is the sixth video in this series. We want to focus on commanders that have a blue color identity and make use of unusual mechanics. These are important to keep your opponents off guard and includes some great budget cards in the 99 to get the decks started. We talk about using these commanders and their usefulness in greater detail.

Great list : ) I used to have a Talrand mono blue was fun but you can easily make it a mean counter deck

I think that would be a good one. Tarland is basically an auto-include as well!

@@NerdinKorea There is a more fun version of Talrand called Alandra.

Built Bonny as a Legends copy deck for Beau, it's janky as hell but kinda fun to play. Doesn't always work but big cow go Moo makes me happy!

Arwen can be a Pauper EDH Commander, which is how I built her.

I haven't tried that format out. I feel like I would like that one.

@@NerdinKorea it's only commons with an uncommon commander (which can be any uncommon creature, but I prefer to follow traditional Commander rules) and the same rules as standard commander. With Arwen, it gets a bit tricky thanks to not really getting some of the better scry cards, but I've played it on some fairly high powered tables that weren't dealing with that sort of restriction. It's done decently well, even at a disadvantage like that. You can still get good counter spells, and there's some really powerful things at common over the years. That list comes out to around $30 total, too.

@@blueredlover1060 Damn! $30 for any deck is a good deal!
