Jack Smith has dropped the ball on getting the ringer, Aileen Cannon, removed from the criminal's documents case. It seems that Jack Smith isn't all he's cracked up to be. He's just one more cog, along with Garland, Bragg, etc. in the giant "let's NOT pursue the criminal trump" gang.
When a violent mob busts doors and windows, assault police, and chase legislators and staff from the building under threat of violence, that sounds like obstructing an official proceeding to me. A peaceful crowd outside a conference room making a lot of noise might be different. But 1/6 was violent obstruction.

Documents decision will get overturned. Cannon's ruling was not a dismissal of the underlying charges, just a dismissal on technical grounds based on a flawed theory. USC 28-600 was the establishment of the Office of Special Counsel. USC 28-510 authorizes the AG to make appointments (without needing congressional approval.) She sidestepped them in her dismissal.
SCOTUS clearly has their thumb on the scales of justice with this ridiculous ruling. To say the very plain language of the US Constitution doesn't say what it says illustrates just how far from the rule of law this court has strayed.
