Not to knock him, but his grass seed had a ryegrass in it, probably perennial, which is great, but that is what germinated so quickly, not the fescue. The purple base at the bottom of the seeding indicates a rye. However, it will help keep the the fescue seed in place and promote that germination.

100% agree with the quality grass seed. I over-seeded with Jonathan Green Ultra Black Beauty and had germination within 6 days. I did use Tenacity but mostly to control the creeping bentgrass that I'm dealing with. Hats off to the all-organic plan. Thanks for sharing your success.

Hey, I subscribed through Etsy! 😉 It's good to see Jersey again and I can hear your area code 609 accent. 😊 In one video it's so obvious you have a gift for creating beautiful ORGANIC lawns. That is so vital with climate change. We live way upstate New York now in the woods and we don't even have sidewalks or street lights and the scrub grass grows, well, like weeds. It's so nice to see your flat, green lawn. Beautiful work. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
I used Titan Rx turf fescue last fall and it survived the Texas heat i am reseeding this weekend again, I had Johnathan green black beauty and it didn’t like the Texas heat.
Awesome job!!! I’m throwing down Seed Superstore KBG in my backyard and TTTF in my front as soon as I fix some sprinkler heads. Already aerated and dethatched Labor Day weekend. Ask me how fun renting and using an aerator is on a complicated shape yard… Peat moss going down manually this year until I can make my own spreader. Keep it up!

Hey I put down an 18-26-4 on seed day on a lawn Reno. So you think I should put it down again next week (Friday will be 15 days) ? It’s been 8 days. Also can you please make a video on where to Get Urea and how to put it down per 1k sqft. I’m a bit confused on the 0.2 pounds not N. I don’t know how to do the math. Can I just use the flagship fertilizer instead of spoon feeding? Help please. I don’t want to mess this up. TTTF AND 10% blue seed.
Generally speaking folks recommend putting down a second app of starter fertilizer about 2 weeks after seeding. If you have regular fert and can’t get more starter fert I would not sweat it. Throw down what you got as long as it does not have any weed killer or pre emergent mixed in. Don’t need to worry so much about the N per 1k during a reno / overseed. You will get into that once your lawn is established and you do a soil test again. Good luck, you can do it. Seed, fert and water and your 90% there.
@@seanrice7511 yeah no meso in my starter fert. So technically I can continue to use the same starter fert. So do I switch over to a stronger fertilizer higher in N after 30 days, 60 days? Or just use the stater fert all the way until I run out into next season Lmaoo.
@@tite732 nothing wrong with just using it until it’s gone for the 3rd application maybe in October sometime. That’s what I do, I find it does not stay granular over the winter so I just use what I got then switch. Just my 2 cents. I have KBG in Michigan so really depends on your climate and grass type.
Not trying to be a dick here, but I gotta ask, if your lawn practices are so good by using superior products such as high quality seed and biostimulants, how did your lawn get to the point of needing to be overseeded? I ask because I'm an agricultural grower and consider myself a good grower and somewhat knowledgeable, but I have the same exact problem! I use great products and practices, but my lawn is less than impressive at the moment.
I know you mentioned not using herbicides on your lawn, but why not go out and pick out the bigger weeds? Before I did my project I walked around with a grandfathers weeding tool and just plucked out all the weeds I could see. Still a few left but I’ll likely wait and get them in the spring at this point
I planted TTTF about 7-9days ago and I am seeing germination. Didn’t expect to see anything at about a week so I am feeling good seeing a bit of germination. Don’t give up hope yet. I am in MN

As someone who overseeded KBG, I'll admit that I'm jealous of a 4 day germination. Congrats on the new grass!
There is some KBG out there that germinates quickly.

I killed all my Kentucky blue grass and grow Johnathan Green Black Beauty Ultra because I want low maintenance.

You know I’m a grass nut cause I got tearful when you plucked out that seedling 😝. Great stuff Joe and yes good quality seed and water does wonders.
It was only one.
That’s impressive dude, my rye took 5 days!

Good luck. Getting cold here.

Spent so much money on Home Depot seed. Never got anything good. Quality seed and I’m like 95 percent germination
Fescue takes 15-20 days, and sprouts in three tiny blades.

I killed off the old lawn and wanted to plant better grass
Also RGs. I still haven’t put it down lol. I only put down some humic 12.
Do it now? And then when again ?? Sorry for the million questions
Put down after your second starter fert app. If you didn’t seed yet throw it down now.

How did you get germination in this heat in NJ???? Btw I’m in Marlton.
You just need to keep up with the watering. And peat Moss really helps also. Keeps the ground moist longer.
New to lawn care. I live in northern VA. Is it too late to overseed my lawn. I also have fescue. Thanks
What’s your soil temps right now?
No Juan. I live in New Carrollton Maryland & I over seeded last Tuesday & I have new grass coming up as of today.

How’s the TTTF looking now?
You water 4 times a day, but for how many minutes?
About 15 minutes each zone depending on the coverage. I am only watering once a day right now since my seed has germinated and I am mowing now.
@@WooderBoyProductions Thanks. That works out to 60 minutes/day for the most needy zone. Good to know. Thanks again.

Where did you order this from? have a link?
I got it from a local Turf Farm in New Jersey. The link is below.
🤑
Uses "professsional grade" stuff and has a lawn full of bare spots and weeds. Huh. I'd be ashamed to have this as a lawn to be honest.
Thanks. Let it fill in.
Your yard looks like crap to try and give advice. Just saying, and yes… I know 🤭🤭🤭
Thanks for the feedback.
