  • I review my Ice Flame Down camping quilt that I got off Ali Express. You may be better off getting it directly from the manufacturer because you can compare models and customize for extra Down fill.
Here is their website (I am not affiliated with them and I bought my quilt): iceflamegear.com
Something I forgot to mention: Because of the horizontal baffles, down can migrate away from the center. It's easy to hold the quilt by the long edges and shake to distribute the down. Also, when I got mine, it was likely compressed in the stuff sack for a long time. I left it opened for a few weeks and shaked it every day or two to distribute the down.

I find that putting the pad strap in the upper torso aera and hooking it to the small loops that are about 5" from the edge alleviates the exposed backside when I roll.

You're welcome! Please see the note in the description that I added regarding the horizontal baffles. It's a minor issue that I forgot to mention in the video. Cheers.

I ordered one several weeks ago, expecting to receive it this week.

@@Ottawa9one9 I received mine today. I ordered it with an extra 100 g of down and it has excellent loft. Looks like a nice piece of kit, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Question: did yours come with 2 pad straps? Mine did, and it is not at all obvious to me how they should be used, and I can't find any information online. The flat metal clips on the straps do not attach to most of the fabric loops on the sleeping bag as they are too small. Not a large issue as I can easily rig something else, but I am wondering if I am missing an obvious solution here.

@@kinguq4510791 Good stuff. I hope you like it. If your straps are like mine (small, white), you just press them into the fabric loop which stretches enough to ease the clip on.

@@Ottawa9one9 No, mine are black and the clips are just way too big to go through the fabric loops.

Excellent detailed information, thanks! Great to hear it comfortably goes down to 0C.
I'm considering buying the pretty well identical Flames Creed version. I'm currently using an Aegismax M2 (746g and limit of +2C, comfort +7C) so this quilt seems like a nice upgrade for weight and warmth plus the flexibility of a quilt.
    Questions for you please:
    - Did yours come with the strap/s? Some listings on Ali say they need to be bought separately so not sure if that's always the case.
    - Did you weigh the quilt with stuff sack at 640g? Or is that the figure from the manufacturer website, and if so do you know if it includes the weight of the stuff sack? I actually like that it's a bigger stuff sack included. I presume it should be slightly lighter than compression sacks and most importantly easier to put the quilt back in!
    Thanks

Hi Dan - sorry for the delay. Mine did come with the straps. I did not actually weigh the quilt, so I'm not sure on the numbers. Regarding the temp performance, I've had other nights where I was cool at 4 degrees. I think it depends on the humidity, etc., too.
I just received the top of the line Ice Flame with some customizations. I will do a review soon. It's very impressive.
BTW - it appears that Ice Flame, Flames Creed, etc. are all 3f ul. When you pay at the Ice Flame site, you go through the 3f ul page.

Is the intro guitar music your own, by chance?

It's my own, pulled right from a rough recording with my phone that you can find on my channel, called CC.

Hi Guys, has anyone ordered this quilt directly from the manufacturer? I can't see any reviews of the site to ensure it's safe/legit. I don't want to be scammed or lose my money ordering.
