When you live everyday with someone for 73 years you each pray you aren't the first to go so the other isn't left behind without the other that's how my grandparents were after 70 yrs they always was telling us please look after the other my grandfather lost my grandmother and he was lost his health went downhill we lost him 2 months later we tried so hard to never leave him on his own but he just wanted nana, one day he went peacefully in his sleep I understand the Queen her Prince was the only person on earth who knew her the best inside and out she could always be herself with him say & be who she wanted that must of felt like such freedom to her when they were alone, God bless our Queen may she RIP with her Prince ❤

I felt when he passed she wasn't going to be too far behind. A love like they had, a marriage founded by trust and respect and forged in family and duty isn't an easy one to live without because it's literally losing your other half. She braved on without him and continued her good works to sort her affairs properly before joining him to rest. ❤️

Losing her husband of 70 years weighed heavy on her heart. He was totally loyal to her. Andrew getting into trouble and Harry removing himself from royal duties didn't help either. Hopefully she's in a better place, no more tears or suffering.

I quite agree. The stressfell situations she has been subjected to at the end of her life have surely only served to shorted, even for only a short while, the proximity of her demise. Gross lack of consideration of those involved, and rightly criticised by those of us who have greatly loved and admired her.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if she had lived longer either given her mother’s longevity and how badass and resilient the Queen was during her life. But I do imagine that losing her husband of a little over 7 decades would have a profound effect on the remainder of her life.

When Prince Philip passed away and i saw the Queen sitting alone in her pew it just broke me. It still does. To share the love that they did and see the things they did together!. A loss like that is something nobody can prepare for. He was 99 so im sure it wasnt a shock wjth his health problems but the unity and loyalty he showed to her, their children and the country and commonwealth was what i think she cherished more than anything. Once she started skipping the regular yearly things like remembrance day, every time youd see her she seemed to have lost a little more weight and seemed more frail. Im just so happy she made her platinum jubilee, london showed her how much she was still loved and adored. I still start to cry when i think about her being gone. I love her so so much and am glad to have lived during her reign. Their wont be another Queen for who knows how long! I know ill never live to see another. 🇨🇦 ❤️

My father fell in love with my mother too when she was 12 years old and he was 15. They were in 7th & 8th grade together, my dad was behind 3 years because he had such severe. Asthma and in 1938 there wasn’t any medicine, antibiotics or treatment for severe asthma. So he missed so many days due to illness that he had to be held back. When he turned 17 he joined the Navy to go fight WWII just like the Queen did and when they grew up they worried about the war, England was being bombed, they had to go to bomb shelters and blackout their windows. Can you imagine how scared the little children were. Buildings would be blown up around you, you could lose everything including your life.

Their marriage was less than perfect, especially during the early years, something I've only just recently learned. Phillip was an incurable womanizer, for one thing. Divorce in that era was inconceivable. Phillip treated Charles quite badly, too, in the child's youth, with extreme pressure on the boy over his lack of athleticism, not getting better grades at school, etc., a complete lack of affection towards Charles. I suppose Phillip's concept of fatherhood in that earlier, long-ago time, was fairly common, especially considering the man's own childhood experiences with HIS father but it was totally inapproriate for a sensitive young lad like Charles. Phillip always was heaping praise on his daughter, Charles' sister, Anne, who was far more assertive & successful in terms of sports & academics. I readily admit I feel no warmth for Phillip, whose treatment of Charles nowadays would be deemed unconscionable & unacceptable, for times clearly have changed. Perhaps everything eventually changed, the marriage became stronger, Phillip became more affectionate & sympathetic toward Charles, I don't know. All I'm saying is that those early years were not good---not for Elizabeth & not for Charles.

Jack Buckley, given the Netflix production ‘The Crown’ and all the other abundant news about his behaviour that has been doing the rounds for decades, I think most people are well aware of his behaviour. I think however that since they’re both gone now that it is not necessary to keep spreading this kind of information and ‘keep hell ringing’ as it were. I’m not particularly a royalist, but I do think it’s in poor taste and sad that anyone feels the necessity to really.

@@kelliemurphy7933 Good points. I haven't seen "The Crown", though I hope to soon. My comments were only meant to express my personal surprise at what I recently learned from a legit bio about the Queen. I imagine her marriage to Phillip changed for the better with the passing years, hopefully in his relationship with Charles as well. I just didn't realize, assuming all these decades that the Queen & her hubby had a marriage made in heaven, coupled with my assumption that Phillip was a model father. I was naeive, to say the least. I won't be saying anything more on this particular subject. Thanks for replying!

Since Elizabeth II died, there has been huge publicity, not much thought about why she matters. Why is monarchy helpful ? In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, which opposes illegal dictatorship and helps keep the peace. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy to unify all the people is an important one. In the UK, 'peace' in formal speech is "The King's Peace".
The monarchy shouldn't be used as real-life soap opera, nor as mere material to fill newspapers. Of course Elizabeth II & Prince Philip had their failings as parents; King Charles III's first marriage was a tragic mistake; Prince Philip could be tactless. Elizabeth II was dignified and she put public duty before personal feelings. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the service they give, and for the difference the monarchy makes for the better, in the UK & the world. There will always be violence and political problems in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the huge, tangible power for peace and stability the British crown is for everyone in Britain, the commonwealth and for the world. Since the 1700s, billions of people have lived under the British crown without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives. God save King Charles III.

They still think that they are of great lineage, but I think we eat, breathe, sleep, cry and die just like they are all human beings. An exaggerated funeral, although rational logic instead of these formalities, formalities and appearances, live your life simply, what is important in this life is good morals., from Algérie
