Sir, thank you very much for your video! I was stuck and had to stop yesterday when I got to the doors step. I watched a few other videos on CZcams but all of them acknowledged the doors part was “tricky” and edited it out of their videos, which I think defeating the whole purpose of doing a DIY videos. They were busy being cheeky and being a celebrity. LAME!!! Yours told me exactly what I needed to see. THANK YOU!!!
Big ups Eddie. I kept looking at the doors and this huge gap thinking "this can't be right". Watched your video over and over and was like "oh". Common sense just is not so common when these people make directions. Thank you so much.
Thanks Eddie - my doors blew off my shed at my home in Montana and I had no idea how to put them back on. I appreciate you taking the time to provide instructions. Best of luck to you ...
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING...Their quality control of parts and customer service could not be ANY WORSE! And I am a very qualified, mechanically inclined person who has a high reading skill....thank you again!
Thank you for this!!! Missed the “slide up from bottom”. The instructions for mine said this model but the design must have changed and they did not update the instructions. This was a lifesaver!!!
OMG thank you so much because I was having the same problem assembling my bms4700 shed and couldn't figure it out!! This has been very helpful. Thanks again for sharing! :)
I'm getting ready to put mine together and I'm so glad I thought to come on here and get a heads-up on the assembly. Thank you soo much! Now I don't have to destroy my shed out of frustration. 🤣😅😅
I bought this shed about 4/5 weeks ago. (September 2019). When it was delivered, 3 pieces were damaged. I called Suncast and they replaced the 3 pieces. Took about 10 days. New pieces were delivered this past Monday, today is Wednesday. I am watching suncast videos and I think I can do this by myself. When I open the new box one of the pieces is wrong!. They sent me a floor instead of a roof. So disappointing. I live in the north east and I wanted to get this together and organized along with my bigger shed before the cold comes and stays. (I don’t like working outside in the cold). I called they are sending me a roof. Thanks to your video, and a little help from my husband, I was able to put this together in a little under 2 hours, minus the roof. Thanks again for the video.
Thanks the instructions were not that clear. Modification for me the box came with 1/4 in bolts. The holes were to small I had to go buy #12 bolts and it worked perfect. #12 are one size smaller than the 1/4 inch ones. Thanks again for video.
OMG.. I have been outside for ever trying to figure this out, in the Florida blazing sun.. I kept reading, trying, re-reading and I actually thought that I may be having a heat stroke and couldn't comprehend what the instructions were. I came inside and cooled off, came to CZcams and Bam! My Savior posted a video! You have know idea how much aggravation you have saved me!! Thank you Sir! Now, how about those clips for the roof?? I can't figure those out Either? :)
Thanks! I had similar issues with the bolts and hinges. Cleaned bolts and hinge nuts with tap and die , got a lot of fines and paint impeded the threading process on all bolts and hinge nuts. after clean up worked better. not a great design.
Eddie, in the part of video where you say, after you inset the hinge into the groove on the side wall, you say to 'PUSH' the door in,. Does this cause it to snap into place. This part confused me.
Your tip for the hinges helped me out alot! Would you happen to have any tips for getting the roof to snap into place on the 2 pegs? My shed is level and I've had really strong people try to push the roof down and we simply can't get it to secure.
unscrew all that keep roof in place, so you can move them, button up roof peek with screws, then do the rest, the roof has to be in position to come together, it will not if screwed together too tight. Had the same problem, button up peak first. Might have to rubber hammer roof pieces up slightly so peak comes together. worked for me.
Oh and I used the left over roof screws into the tiny holes in the hinges for extra support ? (I hope?) now I have to figure out how to hang up yard tools with this shed
I have the same shed. But can’t figure out the purpose for metal railing that you screw onto the bottom of the roof. Is supposed to be a door stop? Or a weight for support?
Anyone with this shed hinge design, have you had yours actually work? Mine is level, doors are level, screw is set in and tight yet the 4-5th time using the shed doors one of them always pops off.
Eddie, So thankful for your video showing how to put the hinges on, but I still can't get the screws in to hold the hinges. They just will not thread. Were you successful? Did you film it? Kevin
Same problem- I figured that part out but now the screws for the hinges wont go all the way in for the clamp, they are getting stuck once they reach the bracket on the other side...any advice?
I just got one of these and have an issue and I hope someone can help me. On the roof panel, there are two metal bars that go across the inside of the roof. Then there's another metal part labeled I and it says Lower S-bracket (I) into position on the roof (H). Attach using ten screws (HH). There are no pre-drilled holes on the roof. Use force when starting to drive self-tapping screws. But I can't figure out where or how it should be installed on the door. I looked at youtube but found nothng that addresses that. THank you.
i am putting together a 5700 also. Did yours come with a metal roof angle support? Cant seem to figure it out. i dont know if possibly the wrong one was in the packaging.
@Diane Sims I just checked it goes in the front of the roof the side that faces you when you open the doors. I think it just popped in I would have to take it apart to confirm.
I just checked it goes in the front of the roof the side that faces you when you open the doors. I think it just popped in I would have to take it apart to confirm.
That one metal roof support fits correctly if you look through the metal bar and screw holes line up with the plastic indents in the roof, if you can't see those indents through those screw holes it's not lined up properly. Try flipping the metal bar the opposite way.
I don’t understand the dynamics of those hinges that V shaped Divet ruins everything My doors will not stay on even putting that screw through there’s no anchor point so it just falls off
The most important part is the next part...trying to blindly screw the screw in while the hinge is attached to the panel. I found this to be impossible because of underformed threads on the hinge and no way to see how to line up the screw with the second hinge hole.
@@tinaarias5825 I put the screw in first. I screwed it in just enough to go thru the threads. Then I slipped the hinge in place. It isn't easy, but at least it's possible. Then I tightened. You can only tighten so much though, since the screw will eventually touch the next portion of the hinge. Overall, in my opinion, it is a poor hinge design.
Suncast social media manager: look how many views this video has; I’d recommend reaching out to the engineers responsible for this poor hinge design. If 50k people are having major issues with the installation of these hinges, I think you may have a legitimate engineering issue, and not just user error issues.
I had the same problem, almost was stripping the cross on the head of the screw. I backed it out, removed the hinge, and cleaned the powder-coat paint out of the threads on the hinge. I tap I used was a 1/4-20 NC tap that had a #7 size drill bit. Worked better then. Hope this helps.
@@EddieEspinosa I have looked all over. The parts list shows them in the diagram but skips right over the number on the ordering list. Hate to throw the whole thing away because a 30 mph gusts of wind blew the doors off and I can't find one hinge lol
Multiplicity Mobile Errand Services I ended up just calling their customer service number and they’re mailing me 4 new hinges. They said the problem may be that they were powder coated too thick. I haven’t received mine yet so I cant update but will do as soon as I receive them. 😊

Yep. Screws definitely DO NOT line up.
Thank you sooooo much! What do you do with the bolt that is on the hinge? It seems useless
It is to tighten the hold on the door. It does screw in too much just helps tighten.
