@@thenigglefish2682 The moment we do that as a species is the moment we cease to exist as a species, we'd be something different. As has been commented in one of the other videos, we'd have no way of knowing if a sufficiently advanced AGI was telling us the truth or carrying out a hidden plan, etc. Twitter is a suitable example (bear with me on this), those that agreed with the way it used to be run under it's old ownership and management are really unhappy now it's owned by someone else who's using it for things they don't agree with, so what about those who have Neuralink (or something similar) chips implanted into them? The current owners and management of the company may be entirely honourable and upfront with no hidden agenda, but what if the company is bought out by someone else who secretly decides to engineer society in a way they believe is better, or an AGI comes along who decides to do the same thing? If these chips can control us enough to overcome things like various types of brain damage or neurological disorder then what can they do we don't know, or wouldn't want? For every Musk that may have the best intentions there are others who'd just seek their own selfish interest to control and dominate, and something like a brain chip could make it easy for them.

@@adrianfisher3349 I understand your point but personally I have no "connection" to us as a species. Connections isn't the right word but I cant think of it now. My desire is to live lone enough to see at least the possibility of merging. Nobody I know shares this dream, boss, parents friends, etc. I just don't hold anything dear to humanity. I'd love to see the new species. Where do we go next? What's the future of us? Do we go extinct as we know us? Do the merged or integrated beings find a way out of the universe? Is there a way out? If there is, what's outside? This shit fucks my brain up and I can only hope to catch a glimpse of an answer. But if I merged I might live long enough to see these questions answered.

I used ChatGPT for the first time this week to generate some config files. It's was nicely lated out and colour coded by keywords, but more than a few keywords were writing BG, and file paths were also wrong. For code generation it should only be used by people who know how to code it themselves to make sure it's correct. It's good for idea generation and refinement though, especially if done properly.

Did you tell it to behave as an expert coder with 30 years experience? You’ll get far better results if you tell it exactly how you want it to behave and give it context and examples. All coding/software development is an interactive process, so I’m not sure why you imagine this would be any different. It can certainly speed up the process, especially if you know what you’re doing.

I work in mental health and most of my colleagues are convinced that their job is not at risk of automation and AI advancements. Personally, I look forward to initially working alongside AI informed technologies and remain hopeful that all of my future patients will have 24/7 access to personalized mental health support. Although simple from my perspective, problem solving is something most of my patients struggle with. Their amygdala overrides any rational decision making and I believe that support during crisis moments could have a significant impact. Has anyone got any further recommended reading for me on mental health and AI, please?

    • @Borishal

Mental health is probably the last medical field that will be touched by AI. Our present hit and miss approach to mental health means that the knowledge is just not there to be used. Unlike the physical ailments that can be diagnosed, researched and classified, mental health appears (to my uneducated mind) to be so beset by complexity, guesswork and social problems, that the whole field will have to be reinvented before it becomes clear cut enough for AI to use safely. It was the only point I found unconvincing in this video.
