The cameras currently on display in my "boys room". (Forgot to mention the MD-12 motordrive for the FA/FE/FM3!) Leave comments on what you would like to see reviewed next!
My Nikon S-2, my Alpa 10d (Cry! Cry!) and the remainder of my Leica equipment was sold to help finance and RB67 and several lenses when I needed a professional level medium format camera for my studio. I was told by a Nikon rep that focusing the S-2 with the lens instead of the "Contax" wheel was a no-no and could damage the camera. Don't know if that's true, but I thought I'd pass it on. Excellent collection! I am a chronic Nikonaholic and currently have 28 different film Nikon SLR's dating from my 1961 F with a prism finder up to an F5, but the F2 is my all time favorite. Like you, my cameras are all users. I am delighted to find another not quite right in the head person who both collects and uses vintage cameras! Oh, if you don't have a Konica Auto S2rangefinder with the 45mm f/1.8 Hexanon lens, do yourself a favor and find one! Very surprising camera. Regards!
ghw7192 I often focus the S2 with the lens, so I hope it doesn't cause any damage! I've looked at the Konica S range of compacts, but wasn't sure which was the best one to go for. Thanks for your recommendation!
Really nice display, and a very nice collection. The Olympus and the Yashica are pretty. The Fuji digitals, what a beautiful design. The Nikon S2 Rangefinder sweet indeed but it would be better if it was in black - IMO. The FM looked great. The Contax cameras would make a nice collection (RTSIII). The little Russian Rangefinder.... mmm mmmm mmmmm - pretty. And I know you know what I think about the 6.2. That was the best one to get, even though the R8 and the R9 are tasty as well. If you don't want to go to the poor house/workhouse, stay away from those Leicas. But, I believe the star of the show was that Minolta - Gorgeous!
nikon f2-nikon f-nikon-fm2-nikon fa-nikon f3-nikon fe. the best cameras ever.nikon f4 silky smooth camera but very heavy to carry around.leica r6.2 brilliant but expensive to get in to the leica system.minolta xm dont know much about it.but minoltas are very unreliable cameras.nice collection.i would love to see what sort of photos you have taken with these cameras.all the best
The big Minolta next for review please. That is quite a collection of mint cameras you have, mine are not quite so shiny, but mine are all from the local thrift stores ect.
Just a question..do you use all of these every now and then or are most of them for display only? seems that nearly all of them are in near mint condition for their age and would be nice to know they're still being used...just added to my collection this morning with a lovely little Nikkormat EL the came with a mint non AI 50mm F2 lens from a local secondhand store. very happy with my find and plan on putting it to good use along with my F2 and F3...along with a few other medium format film cameras I have.
Yes, most of them get used! I like to take them out in the cases though (not shown in this video) to protect them. Just brought a 1962 chrome F which I'm taking out next! Good find with the Nikkormat & 50mm.
lovely collection...I would love to own some of those lenses, especially the 50 f/1.2 I own a basically mint Nikon F3 with a 50mm f/1.8 D lense and an old Russian range finder Cajka 3 (Chayka). Which is funny, it is a 35mm film camera but it actually only uses half a frame and shoots vertically. So if you want to take a regular landscape oriented image, you have to hold it as if you are shooting a portrait oriented image :) You could squeeze 72 photos onto one 36 image roll of film.
Hey I'm new to the world of DSLR and im wondering how to keep them safe and in best condition for when not in use. Currently I'm just keeping my SL2 with the a lens on and it's sitting on a clean shelf. Just like here in the video. Is this the best method? ..................But the lens is actually heavier then the camera, so it's tilting and top heavy on the lens. Is this okay? Or should I put something under the lens so it's stable. lol I know I sound crazy but can someone help me! lol
To keep them in the best condition, they should be placed in an environmentally controlled cabinet . . but that's not practical for most of us! On a shelf they are prone to dust and moisture (depending on your climate!). A lot of my cameras tilt because of the weight of the lens, but it doesn't seem to cause a problem. You could of course lay it down on its back!
@@Samsung9alaxy okay thanks! Well I live in Chicago so I'll have to look into how the moisture levels are here, haha you think I'd know. Thanks for the info!
Hi....In the past...I was a camera colector..besides an amateur photographer....These days went away.....but... today I already have an important batch of them.... about fifty analog cameras... ....Who should be interested on them....???
That small silver dingy can be your Monopoly board game piece :) I still have my Nikkormat EL I started with in 1976

Contax next please :)
Do you have a comprehensive collection of lens also ?
Usually a 35mm & 50mm for each system, but I have many Nikon lenses.
Is it safe to put cameras on lawyers bookcase by the window? Im worried about getting fungus
Michael Perez It depends on the environment! If you live in a humid area then fungus growth in cameras and lenses can be a problem.
Is that a Jupiter 8 lens on the Kiev?
I think it was. I don't have it anymore!

Got the FA As nikon brand new from my father boxed manual and S/N with Zeiss50m/f1.4 i want to sell it for a Leica CL2 23 mm lens
Nikon F3, the best ever made film camera ...
Nice collection, but why is FM going to be your grandson's camera?
He is 2 at the moment. If he shows an interest in film cameras as he grows up, I will give him the FM!
+Samsung9alaxy Yes I understood that but why FM? :)
+Ivan Pelčić Because I think it's a good camera to learn photography on!
+Samsung9alaxy Well I'm sure he'll like it, I mean, I was so happy when my grandparents gave me their old camera. :)
What's inside the drybox? :p
Not sure what you mean by "drybox". At what time in the video?
@@Samsung9alaxy at 13.37? :D
@@andeewardjojo That's the end of the video! Still not sure what you mean.
I can't either you love nikon
