I had an accident 3 years ago and broke my medial malleolus as well as fibula half way, the surgeon placed two screws in medial malleolus and one scew sticking fibula with tibia.

Same! Just about 3 weeks ago. Broke medial malleolus and fibula about 4-5 inches below the knee. Also have more pain on the lateral malleolus then the actual broken medial malleolus but no break according to xray. Doctor is certain I tore up some ligaments on that side which is why it hurts even more on the non broke side. The E.R had only saw I broke my ankle but didn’t see fibula was broke. Made much more sense when I learned that because the amount of CRUNCHING I felt when it happened seemed abnormal for it all to be from a single broken medial malleolus lol. I just started being able to hobble around on it with a boot on and without crutches yesterday

3 days in after falling off a stair and basically ending in "super splits" right foot first, left stuck on the steps I slid. I heard pops and cracking in my foot and couldn't move from the dislocation and pain. Ended up having 911 called and thank goodness, there is no way to climb stairs in that sort of pain! Never had morphine or ketamine before then. Thankful for the paramedic that helped me with the pain. Hospital is something I barely remember. Had it reduced and splinted. Fracture to both tib and fib plus possible soft tissue injury. MLK Jr day is Monday and I am praying someone is in the surgeons clinic. I'm not digging this makeshift cast, even though I hate boots, I'd take it just to scratch the itch

I had tri mal w dislocation. Slipped on flat wet grass. Had to scream to get help. Phone was on deck! Daughter heard and responded. Called 911. Pain was bad but my broken elbow pain was worse in’83. Got fentanyl on drive in to hospital. Milk of amnesia for the setting of the ankle. Good treatment. Surgery that afternoon. Successful. Spent 1 night. Great nurses and doctors. ❤

@akki6hotzz that's up to you to decide man, mine healed wonky and it still hurts to this day 2 years later, but also medical care where I live is shit, if they advised surgery and you can afford it, think about it, if you can't, then it'll heal on its own, but be prepared for a little bit of discomfort

I just started being able to hobble around on it with a boot on and without crutches yesterday. I haven’t been cleared to put pressure on it yet so I probably will try to stay off it a lil longer.
