‘I can’t be that basic from an ego perspective.’ That’s completely honest and hilarious.
They are known to be heavy crackheads by the way. Legally and publicly both Elon Musk and Grimes. Below a link to some evidence.
"I'm so much more comfortable alone" literally me
Everyone
Its better to blame yourself when you make a mistake
WEY YOOOO
To a fault
@@thetacoguyy woh! Amazing revelation, bro. 😶😣👌✌
Grimes is so authentically herself and that’s what I love most about her
Grimes is so unauthetically herself and that’s what I dislike most about her
Sometimes it seems everyone tries to be "themselves" so much. Sometimes that seems limiting to me. Why can´t we be more than ourselves?
@@pewishjrivilege896 You say that like it's a bad thing.
@@johndonaldson3619 Edgy. 🙄

Mental illness is not bad?
🤔
she shouldn't feel bad to make money off that song, but if it makes her uncomfortable she can donate the revenue of that particular song to an addiction-related charity.
Love it. Thank you for this comment ♡
Yeeeeeeees
You're a man of great ideas!
She feels bad in a sense that the song seems really mainstream, clean and "made for money", like pop music in big labels. Not just because of the fact that she's simply gaining money from it.
i think it's justified to feel bad abt profiting from a song abt addiction.
oblivion is prob the most vulnerable grimes song
what is it about,
@@CapeEniEer it's about assault
i think is skin tbh
One of them probably! That & world princess
She never mentioned the banjo in Oblivion though
She seems to have such a great personality. Can also here her genius when she talks.
One of the smartest pop artists around. Grimes is the future of music production
hear*
Elon is a lucky man

I love how the interviewer just let her talk and he just said things like "wow"
'Do you play real instruments, or is it all just digital?', such a great question, and she answered it so graciously
The more I watch interviews of her, the more I love her. 💕
The more I watch interviews of her, the more I love myself
She seems so down to earth
Clare is just so normal I think she even struggles with her alter ego Grimes.

She’s just so cool. She inspires me to be myself without shame.
Amen she wants you to let out the strangeness
my god the violin, the banjo, the guitar, the vOCALS. Delete forever absolutely SENDS me bro
Her nose looks so cute, she’s glowing. Grimes is the whole package, so talented and her personality is the best 💗💗💗
isnt she pregnant? its the pregnancy glow!
You need to eat.
Daisy Lou Misaki Dondu
? 😂
@@marixcx They sound starved..
Grimes is incredibly intelligent, educated, a talented musician and director, but.. "her nose is cute" ..
Get interesting! Read a book or something 🙄
Daisy Lou Misaki Dondu People who are one dimensional are always fixated on looks.
"artificially make it feel more organic"
Honestlyl, I think that's my favorite quote ever from now on
That comment she made wouldn't have made sense to me before, but now my s/o is a producer & does things like that. 😆 It's really interesting actually what people can do with a sound bite or loop.
I usually just listened to her stuff, but I'm just now watching her interviews & she gets more and more interesting (than she already was) with each one.
I AM SO HAPPY GRIMES DROPPED THE ALBUM TO THE END OF THE WORLD
Grimes always speaks to people and personal experiences. When I first heard Oblivion and found out it was about assault it just broke me down and made me raw but in a good way. I think her music helps people confront their traumas.
this is actually one of my favorite tracks from miss anthropocene, the origin is really heart breaking and I like that it’s a depart from her more dance and electronic tracks
Noelle 0hacks for a second I thought you said favourite snacks
I’m glad she does everything herself, I know she does some collabs and works a lot with her brother Mac, but it’s cool to enjoy art that’s all her own.
I love how much exposure she’s getting, she’s literally the best artist of our generation
Somebody closed to her died and she's still so strong. I admire that about her
Actually several people close to her died. Others from overdoses too and one from suicide :'(
i love this woman so wholeheartedly
It's like the spirit of music was protecting you in the form of that banjo. Love you so much Grimes.
I wanna see this unedited
Daniella Moreno completely agree
Omg yes
She looks like she's in a really good place despite losing so many friends - well done her.
I think that she’s maturing more and coming more into herself and the new stage she’s in life.
This woman is an ICON. She is an independent artist and this song is amazing. ❤️
Rance Burger ?
@Rance Burger You treat it as If all women were one person.
I had no idea who this was. But I am blown away.
she's the mother of Elon Musk's kid.
Leotique she is so much more than that
@@ilean7499 I know, but would that help if I explained it to that person ? Many people know Elon.
Delete Forever is helping me find a voice to my own vices. I still get stuck on that rut but I’m glad I have something I can relate to
Beating a man with a banjo you just bought is honestly the most grimes thing I could ever think off
i love the stories she adds in between explanations of the song.
"i just feel so much more comfortable on my own" 😔 i felt that
no one gonna comment on her beating a creepy guy with a banjo??
If you know about her that's no surprise. She was physically assaulted in the past (check out the song "Oblivion", which is about that}, so if you come at her now and she's got something to use so it doesn't happen again, she'll smash your head with it.
@@mitchellbaker9434 Is that a fact or something you guess it happened 'cause of the song? Just asking...
betty black I can’t find the interview ! :(
@@foxtrotecho9530 it's a fact...

She’s gonna be an amazing mom.
Protect Grimes at all costs!
if that guy wouldn’t have followed her like that, Grimes would’ve been a country artist 😯
But we wouldn't have visions😢
@@gluedglued1252 Visions Banjo version 😜
I bet whatever she did would have still been equally perfect though!
Fate stepped in and thank goodness...lolll
michelle torok omg 🤣
She is so humble, sweet and talented. She’s going to be an amazing mom🤍
This was a great interview, thank you for holding space for her to speak and responding to where she led the conversation! I loved the genuine concern from the interviewer at the end, turns out it’s just a burping concern and that’s even better lol.
Grimes is the gift that keeps on giving, I could listen to her speak all day
I really wish they did more with this series. The whole facetime style is a cool idea but the execution with these random animation bits feels quite random. What happened to tying it all together? Remember the Shape of You diary? Looking forward having a reason to watch these rather than just listen to them.
I liked the editing! It's my first time watching this series and I thought it was a neat little quirk.
Yeah I agree! I thought the vfx and animation were kind of off in my opinion and took me out of the interview in a way that's not very effective?
that would be abit too expensive to produce a video like shape of you or where are you now
wow, as a 60 year old, I don't know your music, or you, this came up next and I am so glad it did. wonderful interview .
The fact that she likes AKIRA makes me like her even more.
Micah Buzan doesn’t everyone love Akira though?
When I found out that she loves games and anime (and a lot of them I love too) I was absolutely over the MOON!
delete forever is my favorite song of all time (at least right now). it’s hard to say that it’s my favorite grimes song because it’s so different from grimes’ usual sound.
I love this human being.
I love how layered Grimes' songs are, and I love her style. I think it was cool to hear exactly what was being talked about, I think it added to the experience. I liked this form of vid editing!
“AKIRA IS A PERFECT PIECE OF ART” I have no choice but to stan no matter what she named her kid
Grimes (Claire) is a wonderful modern day example of a successful pioneering woman, current day. Her source blueprints vs finished product are immensely artistic/original, masterful. She's a bundle of joy to observe/listen to. I put her up there with dido, haim, lights, hayley williams, most of which are actually Non-US, of the 21st.
The fact that you mentioned HAIM & Lights 👌. They're still so underrated. Light's comic and album concept, and what she did with the Instagram pages to help create that world, was very unique.
Her explaining the violin just made my life so much easier
The thing is that the song is so beautiful but the lyrics is so sad and heavy, I love this connection betwin beauty and tradic. She's a freaking genius!!
She genuinely cared about what he thought about her music 🤯 Grimes has a way of making you feel like she's your bud ❤❤
Love her. Shes amazing
What an amazing Brain. I would like to be a fly on the wall and listen to a Musk/Grimes conversation.... probably wouldn't understand a word they said...I don't speak Extraterrestrial...
i appreciate how well this is edited
The New York Times goes and makes an interview with Grimes, then turns volume down or cover her voice with beeping sound every time she is being authentic. nice touch.
I love her so much 🥺 I was 11 (I’m 20 now) when my brother first introduced genesis to me and from there I fell in love w her music. I’m so happy she’s opening up and getting recognition, she’s worked so hard and deserves it all, and more.
I like how each video in this series has its own aesthetic language, it's really cool. This one with the huge lyrics and the black and white vibrations around the frame of her face.
Girl im always mesmerized by how much creative you are
She’s so magical and smart, I’m so in love with her energy
seriously one of her best songs, at least to me. just emotionally, it gets me every time. maybe that’s says a lot about me.
Grimes is amazingly beautiful on so many levels...
Do you play real instruments, or is it all just digital?', such a great question, and she answered it so graciously
Bro that banjo story had me hysterical 💀💀
Grimes casually explaining the power of art, myth and fiction besides her song.
So refreshing to watch a celebrity with a personality and genuine artistic talent
the music video is so pretty i really like its simplicity and impact it hass
This is pertinent. Been waiting for Grimes' upcoming stuff.
“I’m just so much more comfortable alone.” I felt this to my core. I love grimes 🧚🏻♀️
I love the last line of this, "just like Grimes"
why did I cry
I haven’t even started the vid yet and I’m already crying at your comment 😭
Music is her passion, emotions n imagination for expression n balance. Healing to her
I pray for her - God may find her for healing her soul not broken to feel god's love with security n satisfaction , joy of love n life.
Grimes is lovely. She is telling the grief I think from nsrcissist love abuse - may God heals her with His divine love for restoration.
Ngl I expected this to be about oblivion, but delete forever definitely confronts tragedy, arguably more directly.
I have been searching for more of her interviews her music is amazing elon is lucky
Interesting how this interview was conducted before the music video was released but it still came out long afterward. I really enjoy Grimes' authenticity.
When asked why she wouldn't hire other musicians to do her sound bits and she said it's just because she's more comfortable working alone, I felt that.
She is such a underrated musical genius, I just love her music.
She inspired me SO MUCH. She is insanely talented.
it's really great hearing her talk about her music. she's authentic and awkward but so excited about her art. you can see how invested she is, but she still has fun and doesn't take herself too seriously, it's great
I could listen to Grimes talk all day
I really reallly like Grimes. I went to 5 funerals while in a rehab for 7 months. The rehab wasn't a lockdown type so you could come and go as you please. Our teacher and my sponsor made us go, we had to go up and look at them and made us go and pay their mom respect. It was a way to scare us I guess. It made me so depressed because they were all so young, and I would see my son laying there because I almost lost him to addiction. It's not a game, it's very real.
She's just precious. I love her. :)
This interview is everything 😂😍🙏🏾❤️✨
"It's not so much an ethos, I'm just so much more comfortable alone" wow I get this, so hard
3:40 is shes talking about when the drums kick in, i like em, they feel powerful
Love the song. The whole album for that matter
Incredibly fascinating and brilliant young woman, I love her...
7:44 when you feel your baby’ movements but then realize that it’s just burping issue
She is amazing.
My favorite laugh ever. And omg best interview of Grimes I’ve ever seen.
One of her best songs, I remember being seriously surprised when I first heard this. Very clearly an homage to those she's lost.
i’m lowkey proud to be one of her early fans. this song is so simple and weirdly so beautiful. the more you listen the more u like it.
Claire, you are so amazing at what you do and genuine so matter of fact and that is what I enjoy :-} keep the music coming. Take care of yourself in these crazy times my friend. Love/Peace
i’ve had one close friend pass away from suicide and one friend pass away by overdose. i’m 20 and this interview made me want to cry. her music has helped me deal a lot . :)
I wish there were more interviews with her. I love listening to her talk and her stories.
"I'm so much more comfortable alone." SAME
"I can't be that basic, from an ego perspective" AHAHA I LOVE HER
Tysm! I needed more Grimes content
I love her voice more stripped back. You can here the vulnerability. Like I'm entropy with bleachers
This song reminds me of Entropy a lot actually. The looped acoustic guitar + her vocal delivery make them similar
She is so amazing.
Does she have a little lisp?
I love this kid!
Yeah she mentioned it before
not a kid. she's 32 lol
Well thats fukken awkward
Unapologetically herself, I love her
whenever i listen to this album or hear her talking abt it, i just get sad. her emotion weirdly radiates
The banjo story is wild! Im such a shy dude and I don't ever hit on women so when i first heard how crazy it is for women this day in age I was mind blown! Every girl probably has one banjo story to tell and thats crazy to me.
My song of 2020
