- TRENDMASTERS 1998 Thunder Tail Godzilla rarely seen or most likely forgotten TV Commercial. This was taken from one of the master tapes that I own, so the quality should be amazing. Enjoy.

Zilla was stronger in this commercial than he was in the actual movie.

I had the tank and jet as a kid but my Godzilla was a different model.
It was the same design but bigger. I was a spoiled kid. Wish I could go back to those days.
Adult life sucks.
If only Zilla WAS that much of a threat. THIS COMMERCIAL WAS MORE ACCURATE THAN THE MOVIE

It's funny how in the toy commercials, the military shat their pants at the sight of Zilla being invincible, compared to the movie

I had this figure! Loved the 'Thunder Tail' feature.
Unfortunately on most of these figures, the rubber tail skin would rip off at the base. Not good.
shytoons Tell me about it. I had one of these bad boys as a kid. Abused the heck out of the tail feature so much that I ripped off the rubber skin! It's actually funny now that I think about it: TAIL-LESS ZILLA! LOL!

Absolutely!! I have 3 different prototypes of this figure at different stages of development. One in pink, one in black and one in flesh tone with no rubber tail covering, so the plastic is revealed and shows the mechanisms to activate it. If you Google TRENDMASTERS Prototypes, you'll find images of all 3 of these I just mentioned. Cheers.

OK, I just now looked up TRENDMASTERS Prototypes and I believe I have found a picture of those three "Thunder Tail" prototypes you've mentioned here (static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131201154258/the-american-godzilla/images/5/58/TRENDMASTERS_Thunder_Tail_Godzilla_Colorful_Test_Shot_Prototypes_x_3.jpg).

When I first saw Zilla in these commercials, I thought he was a Tyrannosaurus, but he is actually a Marine Iguana, same thing happened with Godzilla.

I had this as a kid! I played with it so roughly though that I stripped the skin off the tail of the figure! Yeah, boys and their toys, huh?

I also had this figure, and the tail rubber ended up stripping off. Great figure to play with Legos back in the day, hehe.

People were so mean to this movie. I thought it was well made GREAT fun as a kid. Great soundtrack too. It stands alone of course. Still fun. Guess the Jurassic park fan “cash grab” worked on me. Simba as a nerd defeating a monster dinosaur I mean come on!

The actual toy's jaw is not poseable but it's spring loaded and you can't keep it open. So I guess it's only made for biting.
Did Trendmasters even did a commercial on the Razor Bite Godzilla 1998 figure?

It's the Thunder Tail Godzilla, and this is the sculpt for it. The mouth opens and closes with ease and stays like that.
