Ha, well I would say church is the priority...but your family proly won't read this comment so I hope you enjoy 😁 Thanks Brian I hope that you can enjoy the day!
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 I'll buy the How To Design Your Deer Hunting Parcel now, if you do a military discount. Can I have a contact email address, so we can talk? I can show proof if that's a issue.😎
Finally getting a handle on year 1 projects after 4+ years on the farm. Definitely seeing it pay off already, and can't encourage enough people to utilize all the great knowledge you give out in these videos Jeff!
Great Whitetail deer content. I have a natural scrape I will not do anything with it and it is in a great spot for me to set a stand as well. Thanks Jeff
I got great physical activity so no huge regrets...and if I would have been on to your wisdom/experience five years ago when I purchased, I would have done things so differently. 3/4 acre food plot in big woods setting last year and I saw more mature deer than any prior year. You are sorta a mentor for me Jeff. I highly value your life wisdom that transcends deer knowledge too...like how to relate to people that are your neighbors.
Took me 3 years to get jeffs 1st year list done. Didnt help that i had to build a shanty first to stay in. Hopefully can get year 2 done in two years. Thanks for another great video
Just got out of the new woods i bought, checking it out to see what i need to do. Got home and found this video in my notices. Talk about perfect timing. Everything we do on our land is connected and we need to be careful. Theres no deloreon to go back and fix our mistakes. Thank you Jeff for sharing this onfo, much appreciated!
Bought land last year and closed in mid august... That day I had stuff headed out for plots, cameras and treestands.. My biggest issue is access which I hope to correct this year when we get moved to the land. Started trees this year and will continue to build it over time.. It never ends and I enjoy the heck out of it.
Right on! I'm working on a lot of the year 1 list on my friends farm right now. I'm fortunate enough to have exclusive permission to hunt. Currently putting out a hanging stand, and a ground blind location. Will also haul in a climber.
Questions: Where to plant switchgrass, apple trees, trees. Where do I cut trees to create travel corridors. What is the minimum amount of acres to purchase for hunting, 20 to 40? My neighbor has 42 acres in n.w. Pennsylvania and invited me to their home so a realtor can show us around. What is the very first thing you demand when looking at land for the first time.
i feel like if its gonna take 10 years for spruce screening to be effective then it is a priority to get those in asap. Ive been transplanting spruce and broadcasted the northwoods screening blend and switchgrass because screening my fields from the roads is my biggest issue in my opinion.,. also broadcasted a little bit of the NW clover blend on burnt grass soil, planning on spraying some chemicals next weekend. Glyphosate, 24D, simazine will all be purchased and further investigation will determine when and where i use these.
Started watching this winter and have added mock scrape sticks eliminating vertical branches in immediate area. One funny outcome is it seems bears like to play with/chew on the grape vines. Got a bunch of pics this week on the last cam i still have out. Am on the line of green lake/marquette county in Wi. Not many bear here but getting to be more all the time. Do others have similar problems? Going to go through a lot of vines if this keeps up!
Extremely helpful as I'm get ready to implement these first steps on my first hunting property! Central Michigan flat mature wooded lot, how wide should travel corridors be to connect food to mock scrapes? Thanks for all you provide!
I know it doesn't really pertain to this video but I need some advice on switchgrass. 1. Will it grow well in central NC? 2. How well does it grow in partial sunny(mostly) shady areas? Thanks and love your content! I have implemented alot of your strategies but would like to use switch for some screening for access instead of hinge cutting. Just don't know if it will work in my area?
Sure seems like logical progression Jeff Thanks again! When cutting travel corridors how wide? Do you just cut the briars with a gas trimmer with a metal blade? Do you spray brush killer after cutting? Good time of year to do this?
Hi Jeff. I’m designing my parcel now and working hard at year 1 activities. Any way you can touch on southern states? In NC foothills. Thanks for all free content!
This is random but where did you get that SD card holder?!? That looks perfect and small for the pocket! I hate these wide flat holders. Take up your whole pocket
Good land is good land and finding the right piece is way more important than any improvement you can ever make. Genetics and soil are key to consistently growing big bucks. Your Minnesota piece obviously was already a top producer, many highly improved properties will never even get to the level you started with.
Oh definitely a good area or we wouldn't have bought here...kind of like over 1/2 of the upper Midwest? The one cool thing is that we likely doubled or even tripled the # of daylight bucks focusing on the land in the first year. The previous way the land was used turned a 300 acre chunk into a 40...we will turn a couple hundred acres into 1000+, as is used by the deer. It's crazy how many locations are like ours across the country...would blow your mind what I see in MI, let alone IN, OH, MN, WI, PA. So many areas where bucks average 150-170 + at 5 years old. And the number of bucks can be tripled or more on a given parcel. It's all about getting the most out of the land...plenty of areas that have good bucks if a landowner ever taps into the potential per acre of their land. Most don't come close to their potential...more in the 10/20% range.

So awesome...in the UP!! Bet the black flies are just around the corner 😁 Have fun with the land!!

Great video for a new land owner like myself. What are your thoughts about the use of salt rocks?
Second year plot. Just sprayed it on the first of May. No sign of anything dying yet. Think I need a stronger round up???🤷♂️
Hi Philip! It takes around 20 days to see a highly defined changed in weeds
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 glad to hear that! I've got my buckwheat and 15-15-15 ready to go as soon as the weeds surrender. 💪🌾🦌🪦
If you had 50 acres to work with. How many stands, food plots and feeders would you have?

Should I not field dress a deer in my food plot?
Please do a apple tree pruning video!
How many mock scrapes do yo have on your new property and how many acres does that consist of?
What is the best way to find new hunting land to purchase? I’ve been trying to find some land but anything listed publicly seems crazy expensive
Count sheep < Sturgis videos
What food plot sources are critical?
Hi Jeff, I want to schedule you to visit my property. How do I go about that?
Just look him up on Google 👍
