Jeep prices have entered the premium/luxury market and at this point the leases are so expensive compared to what I got mine for ($430). If I’m going to get bent over, I’d rather just go for a premium Japanese brand and keep it for 10 years.

A Jeep that was meticulously maintained never beat on, and never off-road. Was my daily driver. I had transmission leaks, and the dreaded oil filter cooler housing failure. All out of pocket. Had four Wranglers in my family. No more Jeeps for me. I bought a Subaru Outback and my next 4 wheel drive will be something Toyota probably a 4runner.

In my opinion, a lot of car reviews are watched post-purchase as a way to confirm a buyer made the right decision.
No one wants to hear that the car they committed to buying was a mistake, they just want to see the 0-60 "race" time with platitudes that what they have is good. Or for those who don't buy, they just want to hear the bits they can't compare on a spreadsheet are good. Hence the shallow reviews you see in most car channels.

A good review of the product but I think any discussion of Jeep products is incomplete without talking about the ridiculous pricing . Jeep’s used to be so fun because they were affordable and accessible, now they’re being moved upscale which I (and many fans) think is a huge mistake. If it’s permanent, I hope Ford kicks their ass.😢

I think the safety improvements are borne out of the 4300lbs sled used for crash testing. That weight jump for the sled wrecked havoc on the majority of vehicles crash ratings.

My concern is about the seemingly smaller size air vents under the display. Will they be able to push out enough air? I usually use the middle ones to direct air towards the center of the cabin, while closing the side ones as I don't like to be directly hit by the cold/warm air. The vents were great and very effective as they were.
There was no need to increase the display size horizontally, especially since this new wider screen horizontal format won’t really benefit maps, which if anything, would rather require vertical expansion. Regardless, previously the aftermarket had great oversized display options, while the vent size has remained unaffected. So Jeep could have simply incorporated those. Making the vents smaller was clearly not worth any purpose. I wish Jeep had left them as they were.

The reason why I didn't buy a JL was the lack of the headroom. It's the same as JK, but because the transmission protrudes into the tub more, it's not possible to lower the seat by using new rails, the way I did in JK. I have a faint hope that the new electric seat goes lower, but frankly it's very faint. All those electric motors and gears have to go somewhere, so why would it be lower?
