Gordon is actually a very good teacher! Just see how good he treats students who really want to learn and know what they're doing.

you have to remember that HALF of the shouting he does on Hell's Kitchen is for effect... and it works. That's not to say he's a sweetheart in the kitchen... lol. He's still hard as nails. However, it's all tough love. And it's the cold and hard truth. If he feels you're not up to the standards, he'll just fire you. Respectfully, but yeah... he'll let you know that you're just not at that level yet. If he feels that you're more than capable of that standard... he'll ride you like a pony until you finally get it down.. but again, just tough love. That's the stuff that strong leaders are made of. You see this every season of Hell's Kitchen, and even in his documentaries.
I've worked with a chef like him for nearly a decade... and all they're looking for is if you can match that level, intensity, love and consistency.

What I like about these F Word demos is that it’s a perfect example of a restaurant setting. Here Gordon is even more jumpy and hyper than in his other types of videos because it’s during service. The way he dominates a conversation when a commis asks a question, the girl being unresponsive when he asks if she’s happy how it looks. The kitchen environment brings out a different side of people that might not happen anywhere else

color is important too, especially in presentation. Had it all been overcooked, it would've been off and a bit amber-ish... or even grey.

Man, every dish Gordon makes is like a work of art. His style, techniques and knowledge about food is outstanding. I would love to learn from him but man I wouldn’t survive being his pupil. I know basic to about modern cooking but nothing that advanced.

He's always nice to people who deserve it, he's just most commonly seen on his cooking shows where he has to deal with arrogant assholes all day. Try watching Junior Masterchef if you want to see what he's like when he's calm and friendly or UK Kitchen Nightmares to see what he's like on a day to day basis.

lmao!!! they keep the portions low because of food costs... those ingredients are expensive. HOWEVER, it's all so delicious!!! You can't HELP but wish for another serving.
I can see why his Risottos often trip up the Hell's Kitchen contestants on the appetizer station - it looks great but wow that is one complicated dish to make.
